R3 shipping out tomorrow - can't wait

Mine just arrived. So excited that I tried to set it up during lunch break but ran into a problem. Haha

I’m using PPPoE (fibre internet connection) and the username field comes back with invalid if I use “@“ or “.”  Which is a problem as mine has both.

Even if you skip past this bit the router gets stuck at “Welcome to DumaOS 4” with a spinning circle.

@Netduma Fraser - is there’s a beta firmware that might have a fix chap?

Got to get back to work but will try to use the reset hole at the back. Hoping if that doesn’t work there might be a firmware I can download onto USB (think I saw somewhere you can flash it that way now, unsure )

Actually noticed 4.0.16 is available. Any idea if that is newer than the one loaded on the shipped R3’s?

Can’t remember seeing firmware version number while going through setup.

This was a problem during R2 beta that I had with password field.

Yeah I think you’re right.

No biggy, these things can happen :) , especially if you buy products on launch. Maybe there’s a newer firmware with a fix. Netduma are pretty good with getting things like this sorted.

Swapped back to the R2 for now. No biggy.

Ah sorry to hear that, please do factory reset then attempt the wizard again and skip past that part. The version you mentioned is the launch version. I may need to talk to the team about this one, will be hard if you can't get past the wizard.

I'm getting mine shipped to a US address.

If you purchased from USA does it come with a power supply that has an US plug?

Yes it will

Hi M8,

Resetting the router didn't help I'm afriad. Same "Invalid Username" issue when trying to use PPPoE.

I have a second internet connection in the house that isn't PPPoE. Conneceted the R3 to it. However, the router is still stuck on the screen "Welcome to DumaOS" so it's  not completing the setup.

However, I have internet via the R3 and I'm posting using it right now. But, cannot access the dashboard because if you type in 192.168.77.1 into the browser it redirects to "192.168.77.1/dumaweb/#setup/complete" and you see the image below. Sat on that screen for the last 20 minutes.

Did you factory reset when you connected it to the second connection?

Could you try this link to see if you can get past the end of the wizard please? http://192.168.77.1/dumaweb/?cache=0

On the PPPoE connection can you have the ISP modem/router handle PPPoE for the moment?

Good news is we reproduced the issue, identified the cause and will have a fix very soon.

1) Yep, factory reset the connection before connecting to the second connection.

2) http://192.168.77.1/dumaweb/?cache=0

Throws me back into the setup.

3) ISP Modem/Router: I could use the ISPs modem/router which is a eero router but I think it doesn't have an option for a DMZ when i had  hooked it up last. Might have had an update since so could potentially do that. I could just plug in the R2 and connect it up via that as well. Hopefully without double NATing the connection.

4) Awesome, always had faith in NetDuma :) . Should have contacted me before, I could have tested this sort of stuff for you guys haha :)

It seems I have two issues right now:

 i) PPPoE - invalid username

ii) Stuck in a loop and can't get into the dashboard.

Which was reproduced?

Thanks for your help as always @Netduma Fraser .

The PPPoE issue we've reproduced, we're aiming to get that out within a day or so if possible. If you can connect that way in the meantime so it doesn't use PPPoE and that way the R3 can try to get a connection during the wizard.

Regarding the loop, what web browser/device are you using? If you use the DumaOS app (also has an update) can you complete it that way?

Received mine today also. I connect via PPPoE as well. Is it worth waiting for the fix to come out before setting up?

It still needs internet to get the fix, make sure the R3 is connected to a router handling PPPoE then complete the wizard and then you should be able to adjust PPPoE in Settings and you can then switch it over.

I don't think that's from us? Just checked your order and I don't see a tracking number

I can't see the attachment, what are you getting? Could you unplug the R3 from any other router so just PC and power are connected and see if you can get through it that way after a reboot please?
