has the Xbox party chat been fixed in this firmware or has it at least been investigated surely a workaround is possible e.g. opening certain ports or something. without Xbox party chat it makes the r1 completely useless for a large portion of owners and in my opinion should be given priority

Just curious if you have tried this version of FW and xbox chat yet?

no i haven't tried it yet and wont until at least somebody comes on here and says xbox chat is working as it is too much hassle to shut everybodies internet off to update router then downgrade it to original firmware again when it doesn't work especially with a family my size it will be hell on earth

Well must say, kinda reason why there is a beta group and if your apart of it, would be to test a beta build out.

I'll be hooking mine up though and will report my findings.

yeah and kinda the point of a beta is to test and FIX things that are not working not ignore a problem that's been there since the first duamos 3.0 firmware rendering the router completely useless to anyone who plays on xbox and pc

Some speed tests.

1. QoS Disabled.

2. QoS Enabled  - Both sliders at 100%

3. QoS Enabled - Down at 75% and Up at 99%.

For the 2nd test was that set to Always then or Never?

Great thanks, will ask the team to have a look next week as soon as they can.

Am I able to set my netduma with upnp? I would like to play before this issue is resolved

i know you and liam aren't ignoring it as you are constantly asking for it be fixed just as we are. but this has been an issue for a long time now and update after update has come out without the issue being fixed even with you asking the team to fix it at every release

Yes you can use UPnP that's absolutely fine

I understand your frustration, we're doing what we can and hopefully won't be too much longer.

@Netduma Fraser I can confirm that MS xbox party chat is still not working on this version of FW. I can start a party but soon as someone attempts to join it disconnects and errors out. If I attempt to join a party invite, It sits there and says "connecting" then errors out after about 15 seconds. I'm taking my R1 off line and putting my R2 online.

Was gaming occurring/was TP prioritizing during any of the tests?

No. Only had one wired PC connected to the R1 router during testing time. Factory reset and setup from scratch using default settings aside enabling and disabling QOS. This test just just to see what the differences were between enabled and disabled with a wired PC.

Thanks, I've asked the team for a status update on party chat.

Were you able to repeat the 2nd test multiple times and get the same results?

I can also confirm that Xbox Party Chat is NOT working.  I had a buddy join me, but his status never changed from 'Connecting', and then the party crashed and threw us both out of it.

Also, on a more important note for me, IPv6 is still not working properly.  It still drops the IPv6 routes after 90 minutes, which was the same problem I reported in July 2020.  It also doesn't just enable and start to work when you turn the sliders on.  It took me several reboots to get it up and running, and I had to use my Xbox 'Advanced' networking view to even see if it turned on at all.  There is absolutely no information in the GUI as to the status of IPv6, and you also can't tell if you have a valid address, DNS address, nor can you set a custom IPv6 DNS address for it.  We really need a separate IPv6 GUI to allow for some configuration and also information regarding it's status in the router info screens.

I realize you guys don't have a large team of developers, but this is really frustrating.  I've taken the R1 offline again (it's been offline for about 9 months already due to the IPv6 problems I reported before), as it's completely unusable for me in its current state (I play CoD with a clan every night, and need the party chat).  I hope you guys can come up with fixes to both those things in the next couple of weeks because otherwise I won't be able to use it.

EDIT: I realize this is a beta, so I'm reporting issues I see.  The frustration just goes with it 😕 .  Thanks for your guys' work, and I really hope these issues can be fixed quickly.

I also noticed similar speed results like e38BimmerFN.

1. QoS Disabled. 510 down, 502 up

2. QoS Enabled  - Both sliders at 100% set to Auto-Enable. 250 down, 320 up

3. QoS Enabled - Down at 70% and Up at 70% se to Auto-Enable. 275 down, 325 up

These are just averages. I performed multiple speed tests on a PC and also a Apple TV device. Both had very close results. Nothing else was running on the networks.

Just like the version before I can only get the max speeds on my network by completely disabling QOS.

A new symptom for me is that UPnP does not seem to be working. I have rebooted & restarted my Plex server and it does not register in the LAN/UPnP page.

I did the upgrade and performed a factory reset as suggested.

I also experienced the same issue as another user that going thru the setup wizard and changing the username/password does not work. I had to manually do it after for the username/password change but it does work.

I forgot to mention that I am getting a lot of these errors in the log:

Mon Apr  5 10:22:54 2021 daemon.warn odhcpd[944]: Failed to send to ff02::1%br-lan (Operation not permitted)
Mon Apr  5 10:22:50 2021 daemon.err miniupnpd[1618]: try_sendto failed to send 12 packets

I get more of the miniupnpd errors if anything.

Please note that I have DHCP disabled because I use a custom Pi-Hole configuration but this was not an issue in the previous version before. The logs with the previous version were most really clean with minimal errors to show.

Everything seems to be working though.

@kssxs Thanks for the info, I'll let the team know.

@Nuyorrican Thank you, I'll get the team to try and reproduce this. Regarding the logs, I doubt they will be causing you any issues, the first is in reference to IPv6 by the looks of it which you don't have.

i have installed the latest firmware, used chrome incognito mode and factory reset after upgrade. Im getting some unexpected occurrences in the logs, with the below items being the strangest. and googling the ip adresses indicated thousands of reports of malisious activities being engaged by these IPs. example message below. Is this anything to be worries about

This IP address has been reported a total of 3,499 times from 150 distinct sources. 74.120.14.40 was first reported on December 22nd 2020, and the most recent report was 1 hour ago We have received reports of abusive activity from this IP address within the last week. It is potentially still actively engaged in abusive activities

I don't don't know why I did not try it before but I just went ahead and disabled UPnP, saved UPnP and then just re-enabled it and saved.

I then rebooted my device (not the Netduma but the device that needed UPnP) and UPnP is working again.

So for anyone that is not seeing UPnP working after upgrading and performing a factory reset I would suggest to just disable, save, enable, save UPnP.

I am no longer getting these errors in the logs "Thu Apr  8 10:51:28 2021 daemon.err miniupnpd[1618]: sendto(udp_shutdown=7): No such device".

Hope this helps.
