Quinny123 reacted to TrayDay in My Netduma R3 MW III Settings
Ah! Okay. I see what you're talking about.
It's the name auto-generated name given to the rule.
On 4.0.219. It will give the rule name by default, just TCP 1-65535
But, the auto-generated name on 4.0.23 is as you stated, s1: 1-65535 D:1 1-65535.
Here's a screenshot of .23 on the left and .219 (current firmware) on the right
So, I do see what you're talking about. Don't know how the rule name can affect the rule. But, it's good to hear you're having a good gaming session.

Updates cannot be done immediately, it does take time, we don't give out any ETAs so not hearing anything is normal. Why would we abandon a product we have just started selling? We're not going to rush it out, it won't be long.

Quinny123 reacted to ownal0t in Lets be honest... BOT LOBBIES!!!!
nope. i got this router for its intended purpose. to not be forced to play Cold war with 50+ ping when my local server is right there with 15-25 ping.
its just crazy how much people really got this router just to get bot lobbies.

Quinny123 reacted to Stilts29 in NEW R3 FIRMWARE 4.0.40
Played a couple of games and can actually compete in MW3. I'm praying it stays the same as performance has been awesome so far for gaming.
A couple of things noticed:
Update error'd like Spazz reported but did a reboot and it then loaded, also performed FR after upgrade. Geofilering is working great with all default options enabled. Smartboost working great, prioritising devices and games as set. Still only reporting half my speeds. I have Giganet connection with an ONT that connects straight into R3. Also new cat7 cables used. Set up and down CC to 70% as ping optimiser was'nt working. Got an A+ bufferbloat score so very pleased. No issues with CPU spiking. Oh and enabled IPV6 on Lan and Wan, no issues. Thanks to all the Netduma guys for working hard on this update and releasing today.

I must say. As far as gaming is concerned, it’s performing very well. Hit detection feels on point and overall gameplay feels smooth. All and all, great update.

Quinny123 reacted to Netduma Fraser in NEW R3 FIRMWARE 4.0.40
Hello everyone, here is the first update of 2024 for the Netduma R3. This update is not available as a 1 click update from the interface, you will need to upgrade manually.
Please read carefully:
We have tested this firmware but not as much as we would have done normally, reason being is we wanted to get this out to people to try without any further delay SO it is possible you could see issues as with any firmware update but it's looking pretty good so far.
This update does not fix every single issue that has been reported, it is possible that issues you may have that aren't covered in the change log have been resolved but if its not been mentioned don't expect it to be fixed.
Please do not report issues you already have that haven't been fixed in this firmware, we know what the issues are and they're still being worked on. On the other hand if there is an issue you were having that has been fixed please do let us know as that helps just as much as reporting issues.
TL:DR
Don't report issues that have already been reported and that haven't been mentioned in the change log Report whether issues mentioned in the change log and issues that haven't been mentioned have been fixed Report any new issues you've encountered after upgrading Changelog:
Improvements to stability of upgrade process (memory issue should be fixed) Improved performance during high bandwidth usage Fixed a bug when disabling multiple devices in Adblocker Added ability to select individual server in Ping Heatmap when servers are grouped together Improved reliability of Speed Test Reduced CPU usage of certain services that were causing ping spikes Various frontend styling fixes Firmware removed while we work to fix issues.

Quinny123 reacted to kryptik66 in My Netduma R3 MW III Settings
Hi all,
I just wanted to post to say I got the Netduma R3 last week and I was still struggling with the hit registration of shots in MWIII as of yesterday.
I saw a post today by @Spritekid242and since I've changed settings a bit it's a night and day difference so big thanks to him.
I've never used a Netduma router so I am no expert but this seems to work for me.
My current setup
Geo filter simple instead of custom. For whatever reason the geofenced points didn't seem to work as well for me.
I play on Xbox so I added that in as a device
Steady ping on simple mode
Geo assist on
Ping assist off
Strict mode on
Fast search off
Smart boost
Gaming top priority and device Xbox top priority also
This is the part that I believe made the biggest difference as suggested on the post by Spritekid242. I'm not sure if it is the bandwidth reservation or the congestion control but these are the two settings I changed today.
Bandwidth reservation on smart boost set to max 20mbps upload and download for all ports TCP / UDP for Xbox only
This part will be depend on your connection, I recommend to manually set these as when it found the down / up manually it was at like 98% down and 99% and wasn't stable on a bufferbloat test
To find the manual numbers I just
Set congestion control mode to always on and deselected speed test bypass.
Then adjust the sliders down around 5% at a time until you get 0ms on download active and upload active latency on the waveform.com bufferbloat test. I was actively watching these to see if they actually raised above 0ms on the test. One thing I noticed is that I would still get an A+ on the waveform bufferbloat test even if it fluctuated and went back to 0ms. I think it's better for it to never go above 0ms.
You will also see the max latency ms figures go lower as you bring the percentage down. You will get to a point where is stays at 0ms and the max latency won't get any lower. I did download first. Then I moved on to upload and I settled at 70% down 75% up and turned the speed test bypass back on and set it back to auto from always on.
Ad blocker on although shouldn't make a difference
DumaOS 4.0.23
Im hoping the automatic congestion control figures will improve in a later firmware so there isn't as much trial and error but all in all the router is a huge improvement from my ISP provided router so far, definitely. Hopefully someone from Netduma can chime in on the Bandwidth reservation, maybe it could be laid out a bit easier for new users to activate if it is in fact a game changer.

Quinny123 reacted to TrayDay in My settings for Good Hit detection MW3 <R3 Router
Yes, it works for PC as well.
I have Spectrum / Charter / Comcast
My ISP package is 950/40
I just halve it to make it easier. You basically just want to ensure that you have 0ms for both Download and Upload on the waveform bufferbloat tests. I could tweak my Upload a bit more but it works with these settings.

Been using it all day today. Feels epic in BF2042. Nothing disabled (well apart from IPV6 LAN/WAN and the adblocker)

Quinny123 reacted to Chaiyoabc in Been Using Netduma R3 for 3 Days, Nuke three times ! (Setting Inside)
I have found some workaround for smart boost not tracking packets correctly.
If your network is not too congested. Just unstar all those activity, including your gaming activity.
now you will see blank table
now if you check at ‘stats for nerd’ menu on the too right (little three dots), you should see the table. In generally, if everything is right, cod packet should be under either ‘manual prioritization’ or ‘auto allocation’ But problem is sometimes smartqos is buggy so you will need to manual do it as following
1. unstar all default activities. Make queue blank
2. Normally add your ports by hitting ‘add reservation’ it is inside manage profile button.
3. pick your console/ targeted device Hit next
4. switch to ports tab
5. manually enter source ports and destination ports. If you dont know, just put 1-65535 in both
6 give it 20mbps reservation and click Finish.
all done

Quinny123 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Higher Base Ping
For those with the seemingly higher pings when using the R3 please do the following, ideally testing with PingPlotter and offering a plot from your ISP modem as a comparison:
Ensure the upstream/ISP modem/router the R3 is connected to is setup with the R3 in its DMZ or in modem/bridge mode. Ensure ALL devices are connected to the R3 or at the very least that there are no devices connected/using internet on the upstream router when testing If you have multiple ethernet cables test using different cables connecting the R3 to the modem/the R3 to your device Disable IPv6 in LAN/WAN Please state if you are using PPPoE, VLAN or DHCP identifiers Use a different DNS such as 1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1 As a test make an Internet rule to the device and allow ALL traffic then test, is there a difference? (Settings > Internet Rules) As a test put the PC in the DMZ (briefly for the test then remove), then do a test, is there a difference? Remove all prioritizations from SmartBOOST including activities/devices If the above doesn't help disable SmartBOOST entirely from the 3 dots menu top right of the page > Settings then test Disable Steady Ping on the Geo-Filter page in case it is affecting traffic outside the Geo-Filter - also ensure no devices are added there Disable Adblocker Ensure you have your correct speeds entered in Speed Test > Advanced With SmartBOOST enabled, adjust Congestion Control in Ping Optimizer > Advanced and have it set to Always On and ensure speed test bypass is disabled Ensure you're doing this test over a wired connection - NOT WiFi Ensure in WAN/LAN Settings that the speeds of the ports are at 1Gbps Remove any port forwarding/DMZ/static routes you may have set Test at different times of the day i.e. during peak time (results may be worse) and during non peak times (should be better) Once you've covered everything on this list please let us know the results. This should give us a good indicator of what the problem may be if it's covered in the list or whether it's something more on the backend. The team can then have a look.

Quinny123 reacted to TODDzillaInLA in MW 3 what's working for you?
No, keep qos sliders at 100% and set you download and upload to 30 / 5 and see how that works for you move up 10mb at a time to see if it makes a difference for you everyone's gaming environment is different for older cods i use to run 20 / 5 for multiplayer. also again i have mine set to 60 / 10 because my over all bandwidth is 2gige and the duma only supports up to 1gige so pretty much its like my sliders are at 50% by default

It’s not sbmm it’s the eomm algorithm that’s giving the issues as it manipulates the in game experience.
