Factory reset from the interface then access and try to upgrade as quick as you can and see if that works and whether it stops the wizard from starting on the new version

It's limited to 1Gbps so you won't be able to utilize half the speed through the R3

It's likely going to the setup wizard because you're unplugging it from power, set it up, reboot it from the interface, wait 4 minutes and that will act as a hard save and should prevent that happening again. Also try upgrading directly after a reboot.

There is processing delay in games, not all games show it as part of their ping calculation but CoD does so that would account for the extra ping you're seeing in game. Nothing to do with Windows all good there

You're on the latest version so you can ignore that. There was a beta we had to remove to fix some issues and we'll release it again when that's sorted. What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the XR? E.g XR in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Are ALL devices connected to the XR? Have you entered those speeds into the router? How have you setup Congestion Control/QoS? Where are you testing the speeds?

Don't do auto setup, 100% is essentially off so try 70% for download & upload and see how you get on. If it continues then bypass the XR and see if the same happens, if it does then its either the servers or wiring to the home/ISP side

Having the Xbox in the DMZ while you do those tests is going to skew the results so take that out, you should remove that anyway, then proceed with below. PingPlotter link/instructions from my 1st response

So it's connected to an ONT/an ethernet port in the wall then? The Geo-Filter does but it wouldn't help for Faceit. You should definitely use Congestion Control, it will help even if you don't directly notice it. Do you get packet loss just on faceit servers, ranked servers or normal servers or all? Have you tried bypassing the XR to see if you get the same issue?

Disable the DMZ and take off those reservations then try again. The percentages you got with Congestion Control, that was really the best you found when following the PingPlotter instructions?

Switch SmartBOOST back to the basic, not advanced. Where else have you changed settings e.g. DMZ, port forwarding, internet rules etc

Are ALL devices connected to the router or do you still have some connected to the hub? Can you provide a screenshot of all the settings you've changed specifically?

DMZ is fine you can leave it that way

Where are you checking the NAT status? If you're not getting an open NAT with the exposed host it won't be set correctly or isn't working as it should. You could instead port forwarding all ports to the R3 - 1-65535 TCP/UDP to achieve a similar effect. PPPoE passthrough could work but you'd need to put the PPPoE details into the R3 and then reboot the R3. Nothing to do with the IPs.

Some people don't get on with Steady Ping, if it's better without then disable it and continue just by forcing the closest servers instead

The routing is really done to your ISP, in which case the only workaround you can employ is a VPN like you mentioned so Exitlag in theory should give you better routing to game servers in this scenario. Damage to cabling can effect the ping yes, it would really depend on what has happened.

How you've set it up is fine, you won't notice any improvements really from switching this. You'd need to have the R3 connect direct to whatever the fritz is normally connected to (or set the fritz in bridge mode) then enter the PPPoE details in WAN Settings, then reboot the R3, wait 4 minutes and you should have internet

It's likely blocking a server it uses for the downloads, check when you start the download for anything blocked outside your radius, if there is then add it to your allow list - you may need to do this a few times to get all the servers, shouldn't be an issue after that. If you provide the IDs for those servers as well then we can add them to the whitelist

You'd need to check with your ISP if you require PPPoE or anything like that for a connection, the internet settings on the plusnet router may also show them. Otherwise you can just put the R3 WAN IP in the DMZ on the hub which will achieve the same effect as bridge essentially
