R3 - losing Internet connection at random
Netduma Fraser replied to N3stor's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Right-click on the Network/WiFi Windows Network Icon on the PC on the bottom-right hand side of your screen Open Network and Sharing Center. Click Change Adapter Settings. Right-click your connection and go to Properties. Uncheck the box next to Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) to disable it. Then set a static IP on the PC with the following details IP address: 192.168.77.100 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default gateway: 192.168.77.1 DNS: 192.168.77.1 If you're not sure how to do this, you can check this guide: https://kb.netgear.com/27476/How-do-I-set-a-static-IP-address-in-Windows then try accessing 192.168.77.1 please and see if it works. -
Previews and thumbnails don't load on some apps

What was your solution in the end? -
On the DumaOS app I mean, not the Nighthawk app
-
Honestly there isn't a 'best' cable, as long as it supports the speeds you have it will be fine
-
Okay so both locations are covering the same area. You are essentially creating a tunnel between your PC and the game server so the router can't really see the data properly. You definitely don't need the VPN in this scenario though.
-
The higher the better really but you wouldn't get near the rated usage they can achieve so it doesn't matter really
-
Does the ISP router have other options for IPv6 that result in proper IPv6 through the R3?

R3 - losing Internet connection at random
Netduma Fraser replied to N3stor's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Do you turn off the router everyday when you go to work? While connected to the router via a Windows PC, open command prompt, type ipconfig press enter and then post a screenshot of the results here please. -
There further away from a router generally the less speed/strength/range you will have - if the R3 is basically next to the G Router then it's better hardware, if it's a little further away it could be better hardware or more placement. It's hard to advise without knowing the physical layout of the home

That is brilliant to hear, thank you for getting back to us with an update on how you are doing!

Could you try disabling IPv6 in WAN/LAN as well please and see if that makes any difference -
Advanced Troubleshooting Settings?
Netduma Fraser replied to Andpodepah's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Port Scan you can enable, it's just a protection option. Spanning Tree you can leave disable unless you have a complex network such as with a lot of switches etc -
Disable IPv6 on just LAN and then see if it works after a reboot please
-
Could you try running the speed test through the DumaOS app and see if it works there please?
-
Are you checking the NAT status in game? If so disable the Geo-Filter prior to launching the game, it is likely blocking the server that reads the NAT status and will then appear open, you can then ignore it going forward

Ping Optimizer Keeps Failing...
Netduma Fraser replied to steelcity403's topic in Netduma R3 Support
We are aware Ping Optimizer/Speed Test isn't 100% reliable at the moment and it's something the team are working on. Those features can still work, it just may not be every time. In the meantime best to adjust Congestion Control manually in Ping Optimizer > Advanced. -
Wired would always be better so I can't see how the ping would be higher unless the cable you were using is a little faulty, upgrading the cable should give you a better result
-
Upgrading speeds doesn't necessarily lower your ping except in most cases where the technology used to serve you those speeds is upgraded then yes you may see a ping reduction. It is not possible to get 0 ping - it's like being able to teleport to the other side of the world - impossible!
-
Great to hear that, thanks for the update/solution!
