Xr1000 cc not working with pppoe connection?
Netduma Fraser replied to Gkear's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Are ALL devices connected to the XR? I can't see what mode you have set for Congestion Control but make sure it is always. I'd suggest testing with downloads while following: https://bit.ly/bufferbloat-test start with a high value e.g 95%, test, decrease 10%, test, decrease 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good, then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. Important to note that Download/Upload on CC don't have to be the same value & you may have a better experience with differing values. This is more of a real world test as you're actually doing traffic you would normally do. In regards to PingPlotter you will see a lot of packet loss at 1 second interval, set it back to the default 2.5 and then only focus on the bottom graph not individual hops and see if you get packet loss there, if you don't then that's great. Switch NAT to Open in WAN Settings and see if you get better speeds that way. -
If the above link doesn't help please provide the config you're using

Based on your previous screenshots what you've done is correct: You've set the R3 a static IP so that shouldn't change rendering the DMZ useless You've entered it in the DMZ That's literally as simple as it should be - check the IP on the R3 does it still end in .39 or has it changed? Only other thing to do to check when you get that double NAT is to put the Xbox in the DMZ on the R3 and see if it then becomes open.

What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g. R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Have you set your expected bandwidth/speeds into the router? How have you setup QoS/Congestion Control? Can you provide a screenshot of the page please?

HybridVPN on XR450 no longer loading
Netduma Fraser replied to dissonant's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
No worries, yeah always a good shout as you can keep your settings then. -
You can do either really, the difference would be minimal but generally, the less hops the better so connecting it direct to the ONT would be ideal!

DumaOS is not running!
Netduma Fraser replied to yerisox's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
That's good to hear, thanks for the update! -
Yes it is a known issue, I believe you've seen the topic/have access to it in Early Access. So far things we have found in common with people experiencing it are: Using a network switch Using a long ethernet cable Downloading a large file If any of those apply and if you're able to counteract them it may resolve the issue. We don't know for sure what is causing it yet but the team are making good progress.

You can't specifically block a server type - also nowadays most games actually use servers so it's likely the peers are misclassified and are actually servers.

Xr1000 cc not working with pppoe connection?
Netduma Fraser replied to Gkear's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
It's done that because your hub is at 192.168.1.1, you can change that one then change the XR back or change the XR to 192.168.2.1 for example. Is it set to Always? -
Yeah I see that, I was looking on the right hand side where they used to be. You'd be surprised at how many people contact us first thinking an issue is due to networking when they've not checked other areas. The only way I could think it would be networking considering it's not occurring on the consoles (presumably you're trying the same games on those?) is if you've set something up on the router differently to the consoles, is there anything you've done there?

Netduma Fraser replied to Gkear's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Yes it is safe as the XR has its own firewall. You could port forward all ports to the XR but it'd be basically the same - you could try port forwarding the specific ports needed but it's more hassle and not needed. -
Strict mode doesn't block anything inside the radius

There is no ping change on the Geo-Filter Ping in game doesn't change No packet burst symbols or any other network issue symbols appearing on the game Consoles not having the issue Other games not having the issue When you put that all together, it's not a network issue otherwise you'd see a change in the ping or have some network symbols appearing. If it was a network issue it would also be present on other devices/games. All that is left then would be an issue with the PC and that's not something we're able to troubleshoot.

Xr1000 cc not working with pppoe connection?
Netduma Fraser replied to Gkear's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
The only other thing I would suggest doing is set a static/reserved IP for the XR on the hub, then put that XR IP into the DMZ on the hub to ensure you get an open NAT. Then connect all devices to the XR - you could disable WiFi on the hub if there is a concern devices may auto connect to the hub. -
NEW XR500 BETA FIRMWARE: 3.3.535
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Lew's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Services like that are quite hard to block as they often serve the ads using the same domains as the video itself which means if you block one you block both, it's why it doesn't block YT for example. We can look into it to see if it's different in this scenario. -

We don't give out any ETAs and it's entirely in NGs hands at the moment. The difference is negligible, you wouldn't notice a difference. -

Check the URLs that are being blocked and then add them to your whitelist and it won't block them -

Netduma Fraser replied to Panos.st78's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
I'd suggest being on this firmware ideally if you're not already: https://forum.netduma.com/topic/51611-new-xr500-beta-firmware-33535/ try upgrading using the adv index URL and see if it works after that - I would suggest a factory reset though after that is all completed. -
That open does seem a bit sus, we can come back to that if needed but ideally it should be off. So your DHCP range starts at .10 so change the R3 IP to be between .2 - .9, if you have any other devices connected to it then reserve IPs for them within this range also. Then see how it is, if the issue happens again then disable DHCP on the Linksys.

Xr1000 cc not working with pppoe connection?
Netduma Fraser replied to Gkear's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
PPPoE is the cause of that issue, we're aware of it and it should be fixed for the upcoming 3.3 beta, in the meantime you'd need to have the hub handle PPPoE for now. Yes I'd still recommend utilizing traffic prio.
