Game servers don't respond to traditional pings so we try to be clever but it doesn't always work so then it falls back to the trace method which won't give you the correct ping in most cases but hopefully somewhere near it. Then because it's unable to determine the true ping it can't know what value it needs to hit if that makes sense.

Nothing specific that I am aware of to increase the frequency of it triggering. No settings really in that scenario but I would suggest you connect ALL devices to the R3 to it can effectively control the entire network - if needed, to help this you could disable the Asus WiFi so devices don't reconnect to it.

Router (Unknown) using 99% upload bandwidth usage
Netduma Fraser replied to Dlon's topic in DumaOS Mobile App
Okay so just the app thank you, as above the team will see if they can replicate it. You are in the right place -
Okay thanks, I'll let them know
-
You can do any of those options, the result will be the same
-
The down percentage is too low and upload isn't used at all, put those both to 70%. Set to Always. On SmartBOOST add your device as well as a priority then see how you get on.

Where were you checking the ping, on the Geo-Filter, in game or elsewhere? It won't always be able to stabilize the ping, especially in the case like you have it where the ping method is traced, it's not able to accurately determine the correct ping and so cannot add the correct amount of delay. What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Are ALL devices connected to the R3? What are the speeds you pay for/receive? Have you entered those speeds into the router? How have you setup Congestion Control? How have you setup SmartBOOST? What game are you playing? What platform are you playing on and how is it connected, via ethernet or WiFi? How have you setup the Geo-Filter?

Okay use the DMZ function and try without Adblocker enabled

Router (Unknown) using 99% upload bandwidth usage
Netduma Fraser replied to Dlon's topic in DumaOS Mobile App
Is this on the mobile app or the main interface? Are you on the latest beta firmware or the public version (they're both .134 but the beta will say RC14)? -
Even if it appears as a hotspot device, as long as you have everything connected to the R3 it will work as expected. You can use DMZ as well, then try disabling the R3 Adblocker to see if it solves the loading issues.

No we don't give out any ETAs and I only heard about it in passing so don't have much more information on it. You don't need to/shouldn't need to add too much but it gives you 1 consistent ping so even if it is high it is stable. You may also be experiencing lag compensation which could account for it as well

Try routerlogin.net and see if that loads correctly. You can downgrade to the previous firmware by downloading it from the NG support site and then downgrading in the same way you upgraded by uploading the previous firmware file. For CoD on the Geo-Filter we don't differentiate between each CoD game otherwise the list would be enormous. It's just shown as CoD and will work for them all, if not let us know and we can update that service and I can let you know a workaround to get it filtering.

No not specifically, game servers don't respond to traditional pings which makes it difficult. We're working on a new ping method which may help in future

NEW XR500 BETA FIRMWARE: 3.3.535
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Lew's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
We *think* we know what the problem may be, we'll be pushing a cloud over the next few days that should hopefully resolve it. -
If you can't connect those devices to the R2 then keep in mind the R2 can't control them and so they can take bandwidth away from the router and other devices which can case high ping and lag so ideally you'll connect them to the R2. I think iOS has the PingPlotter app that you can use, otherwise any sort of app on Android where you can ping an IP address consistently (just search PingPlotter on Google Play store and use the highest used alternative it suggests). Then you can follow the steps I mentioned previously as it's unlikely 50% is performing well for you.

Is it just the phone having the issue or others as well?

CALL OFDUTY BLACK OPS 6- UNABLE TO CONNECT TO HOST
Netduma Fraser replied to Satiros's topic in Netduma R2 Support
You posted in the R2 support forum and didn't mention another router but as you're on the R1 you won't get DumaOS 4 so you'll have to do the step 1 I mentioned. Did the problem occur after making any specific changes to the router settings? -
It won't always be able to stabilize, especially if it can't ping the server properly - in the above example if you click on the server and the ping method shows traced then that will be why.

Could you make a video of what you're doing and showing it failing if possible?
