weird that with R3 latency is al over the place. Without it (right 👉 , wired directly via modem/router) no such thing. Is my device just broken? a RMA? @Netduma Fraser

i only purchased this product to make sure that i am only connected to servers nearby (Geofencing) but dann it. I am disappointed as any product with its slogans should work out-of-the-box in my opinion.

if you say it is my ISP then i am going to appeal for return of the product. Can't waste more time as it has been one week trying things out.

Thank you for your understanding.

Have you defined playing on a particular server in the geofilter?
I avoid certain servers and I focus on the London server which gives me the best gaming experience.

@Fuzy it takes me 3-4 minutes to find a game in warzone i dont know why. and it takes me 25 seconds to 1 minutes to find a game in multiplayer and 1-2 minutes to find a zombies game.

It'll be depending on the time of day/population of those different games/playlists at that time as well as what servers you are restricting the search to

Hi,

sharing the following and my conclusion.

As I use fiber, i removed my modem/router from my ISP and thus connected the R3 directly. After this, did the buffer bloat test which resulted in a C grade. Anyhow, restart of R3 > still C grade. Next i checked the CPU usage and pingplotter to see what happens. I did this with and without  gaming.  see also image

Conclusion:

CPU is hitting peak  for CPU0 and CPU2 and in game tremendous lag today.  I do not believe the issues are because of any settings as i believe it is the hardware which causes this. Curious to see your reply @Netduma Fraser as this will be the deciding factor for me whether i return the product or not. I am not trying to be negative but the device should work as intended from the get-go (steady ping, low latency) which isn't working for me. Maybe I am unlucky compared to others but for the price you pay it should not become a situation where we need to do stuff in the forum and you @Netduma Fraser trying to mitigate it. I truly feel for you and appreciate you always responding calmly and respectful. Looking forward to your final response.

Thanks.

Hi, the R3 is not stable at the moment I would suggest you wait until the next firmware update it may solve a lot of problems that you are experiencing with it right now.

I have been in the alpha/beta testing of the R3 the first few firmwares the R3 was performing really good without these issues, but there were some others which had been fixed.

Also try to downgrade to the first firmware it came with then factory reset and upgrade the router till the last firmware that is going to come out.

If that is the case i am willing to wait but only if my warranty for able to return the product is formally and via my email is extended to additional one month. @Netduma Fraser Can you help me with that at least?

I think if you contact  @Netduma Fraser or let him know that you want to test the router after the next update and it is still not working good he can arrange to extend your warranty possibly.

I think he will react to this question to help you out very quick🙂

I'd say it's probably not the CPU issue though it could be contributing to it, how have you setup your Congestion Control specifically?

I've reported every bug/potential issue that has been mentioned. I don't have a specific list of issues that are being actively worked on, there are a lot of devs all working on different things. This weeks update will be a decent sized one with fixes and improvements so should be much better.

We doing Firmware Friday?? I'll bring the desserts!

Same here buffer bloat test which resulted in a C grade on the R3, but when tried  on the R2 I get a Grade A, we all have to be patient and wait for updates. It would be kind of naïve to think a piece of technology won't ever need to be fine tuned with updates, lol😂

Hi,

I tried v0.40 at first it seemed good (geo NL thus my location). But there is still the same issue which is ingame lag. The cpu is not spiking as the previous version though.

Any thoughts what else i can do as the ingame lag is unbearable.

Thank you.

Hit registration is so bad.  Hooking up straight to my modem I will win 80% of my 50/50 battles.  Hooked up to r3 and I will win 10% of my 50/50 battles.  It’s unplayable for me.  Waiting to see peoples settings.  The ones I’ve tried didn’t do anything

Yh same here my kd was just over 2.4 now it’s 0.9 since I’ve been trying to play on the R3

With new updates backend and frontend aspects can change so settings that may have worked on a previous version may need to be tweaked, for example people are having better bufferbloat scores with higher percentages than before

Weird, disabling ipv6 on mine caused all devices not being able to connect via WiFi.

It may disconnect you briefly doing that but they should reconnect

From what I’ve seen they won’t reconnect and all you have to do is unplug the router for 30 seconds then plug it back in and everything connects.

On the geo filter slide when gaming on ps5 the Ping assist is active but nothing on the graph is there a fix ?

I would advise you to remove your device from the geofilter, then go to the top right and tap on the 3 dots tap on sync cloud, I would also do the same in the device manager and then add the device to the geofilter again and try.
