Thanks for letting us know, it's one for Netgear to resolve so I'll pass it on to them.
Matthew_D Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 @Netduma Fraser can you use a vpn on a netgear nighthawk xr500? or would you stick with the r2 because of the smart interface ? but im not getting the speed that i have is there a reason why?

You can use HybridVPN on the 500 yes, it's entirely up to you which you want to use. You won't get full speeds when applying the VPN to the whole device, if you use the Hybrid aspects to just apply it to the specific service/application/ports you want then the rest of the device can use the normal connection at full speed. 1 hour ago, Comp0za said: does my router responds on ping on default? I think that option is enabled by default yes
Midvintertid Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Hi! When firmware goes official. Could we download the firmware from Netgear and flash it directly or should we use TFTP client?

Midvintertid Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 I downloaded the beta firmware. When I try to connect it says. " DumaOS is loading... This could take up to four minutes. Please wait."

Midvintertid Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Yes I installed the intermediary firmware first, but I didnt clear the cache in the browser, I try that and check if it fix it. Netduma Fraser 1

A factory reset should resolve it, it would be a good idea anyway as it's a few iterations ahead of the firmware you were on Midvintertid 1
Midvintertid Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 How do I do that when I could not reach the OS? ☺️ Is it a reset button on the back of the router?
Midvintertid Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 After the reset is says "duma os not running" I have reboot the router and it did not help.
quadrophenic Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 I am also randomly stuck on dumaos not running. Many reboots and a factory reset still nothing. EDIT: after reboot i get the netduma splash screen followed by 'something went wrong' page Midvintertid 1
Midvintertid Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 I go to this page http://routerlogin.net/adv_index.htm And go back to stock firmware. quadrophenic 1
quadrophenic Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 The amount of reboots, resets and random freezing I get with my XR500 I have actually added a 2nd dual wan router to bypass it when its down so i can muck about with it without cutting my family off from the internet for hours. That's on top of adding another router for the pppoe connection that hasn't worked properly for years. Dumaos has turned my home network into entry level enterprise lol
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 7, 2023 Administrators Posted August 7, 2023 Use that link above to go intermediary then go to the firmware I linked at the bottom of the first post, then when you know that works go to the latest Midvintertid 1
Midvintertid Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Thx Fraser. Gonna try it tomorrow. Just went back to original firmware so I could do it the right way. Do u think Netgear will fix the DHCP issue? I keep my network in the (2 - 49) ip adress range until we got a fix. ☺️

Midvintertid Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 I will. Big thx for the help. ☺️ Oh I see. I keep the fingers crossed for a fix in the future. Netduma Fraser 1
