Wait what does apply to WAN mean? The XR500 doesn't have that option. For some reason I check the logs and I see a lot of "QOS applying settings to zone WAN" and "QOS applying settings to zone LAN" or so it says something along those lines. What does that mean? What's the difference between QOS WAN and QOS LAN?

Essentially it applies the same priority information tags to packets going out to the ISP. The ISP may just ignore these tags, but you may see a performance improvement through using these tags. It will be an option on the XR beta. Those logs are fine, just indicates QoS is applying settings. LAN is the local network, your connected devices, WAN is on the internet side

Based on this screenshot, I believe so.  Unfortunately it is still extremely unstable.

Try what was mentioned above, reset Bandwidth Allocation services to default then just use the devices part, apply the necessary amount to the device and disable share excess.

Can you provide more detail?  I am completely new to this stuff. I have no idea where any of those settings are.

On Bandwidth Allocation where services is selected i.e. where it says livestream etc click reset distribution. Click the :menu icon on Bandwidth Allocation, change back to devices, set a percentage and apply then click the :menu icon again and disable share excess.

Unfortunately no. All of these changes haven't helped the stability of the bitrate at all.

I see you only have the one device shown on Bandwidth Allocation there, where are all the other devices connected to?

The one device you see is my main desktop, which i use for both the stream and gaming.

No other devices are currently connected, as i cannot get the wifi to work. So phones, tv's and work devices are still running through the main gateway.

Disable the WiFi, apply, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes then enable the WiFi, apply, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes and it should be working and more consistent from then on.

Are devices usually connected to the gateway when you're streaming using the R2?

Ok I will follow that process for the Wifi.

There are multiple devices connected to the gateway wirelessly due to the  R2 wifi not being detectable. Regarding the stream, i have yet to host a stream with the  r2 activated, due to the extreme inconsistency in the network. The device I stream/game on is connected via ethernet so I don't understand how there is an issue. Especially because all of my gaming has extremely low ping (thanks to the r2).

When I stream I connect my device to my gateway in order to maintain a stable connection.

That could be why then, if you don't have ALL devices connected to the R2 (I get why you didn't previously) then the R2 can't control the network efficiently so as the WiFi is working now I'd recommend you connect everything to the R2 and try again with the stream and see if it is better.

What is the make and model of the modem that the R1 is connected to? Also what game are you playing specifically where you're seeing NAT issues?

I will need to check on the model but to answer your other question, I mainly play anything but isn't it bad to be on nat type 3? I haven't played with anybody YET but I feel like I'll have issues hosting a lobby on a game cause people wont be able to join cause of the nat type.

Disable Traffic Prioritization and I suspect it will be fine after that

also on congestion control, is there any recommendations on what I should put the setting on? I have the sliders all the way on left so 100%, anti-bufferbloat is on "never". On bandwidth allocation, upload is 96% to PC and 4% on my PS4, on download is 70% on PC and PS4 is 30% with share excess on. On Traffic prioritization, its Enable and the only one I see is "All devices". The only devices plug in to router is my PS4 and PC. Also kinda confuse on UPuP, it's enable but it says deleted device? I also try to do port forwarding for my ps4 and I dont think I did it right or idk cause like I said, nat type is till 3.

Yo that's sick! I thought that that was only for LAN where you have lots of traffic, but on the internet, now that's amazing! Do you know if my ISP (Spectrum) supports this? What other ISPs support this?

It's hard to say I'm afraid, some ISPs may recognise it and action it accordingly but unfortunately you don't really see anything to confirm it.

@N3CR0 I am having trouble stabilizing the connection to achieve that. When I attempted high FPS and quality I experienced a lot of issues.

@Netduma Fraser I am now having an entirely different issue with the r2... No wifi or ethernet connection,  and I received the following prompt.  "MISSING JSON RESPONSE."

Do people normal have these sorts of issues? It seems to be never ending.

Ah, fair enough. I used to have bitrate fluctuations, didn't bother the stream too much though, dropped frames but not many and that was because of the crappy software I was using.

Since changing to SL OBS, I haven't dropped a single frame and bitrate has been a steady 6500 @ 900p60fps.

Yes NAT Type 3 is not great and will be why you're having trouble joining people. You'll need to put the WAN IP of the router into the DMZ on your modem to resolve that.

You want Anti-Bufferbloat on Always or When High Priority Traffic Detected/Auto-Enable and try with 70% for download/upload.

Yes people do have these issues, when did that occur, randomly? Unplug the router from power for 10 minutes, plug in, wait 2 minutes then attempt access and see if it is working.

But how do you put the wan ip of the router into the DMZ on the modem (idk how to) and why do I gotta do this now? Before I updated the netduma interface, I had nat type 2 so I'm very confuse why this happen now. Also with the recommend anti bufferbloat setting, is that really whats best for gaming and streaming? Is there anything else I need to change, I wanna make sure so I dont have to change something else in the future like traffic prioritization, port forwarding, UpuP (saying deleted devices) idk why etc.

Just curious why you streaming 720p and why have your bitrate set to 4500?

When I had 10mb upload I still streamed on Twitch @ 1080p 60fps with 7000 bitrate.

7000??? The max is 6000 and plus there's honestly no difference between 720p 60fps (4500 bits) and 1080p 60fps. Also it's easier for people to watch 720p. I know ALOT of people who dont watch certain streams cause they just cant, 1080p is to much for some.

Could be a number of reasons, but the IP likely would have changed being the main one. Copy the WAN IP from the System Information page, access the modem interface, look for the DMZ function - could be in LAN/WAN/Firewall/Security Settings and then put the IP in.

Yes that's what we usually recommend. You may want to experiment with Traffic Prioritization on/off - there is a possibility that prioritizing your game traffic would cause the stream to suffer a little.

The streaming software I was using would only allow you to stream 1080p@60fps using bitrate 7000 or higher.

I've since started using SL OBS and stream 900p@60fps using 6500 bitrate. 6500 is what alot of streamers use.

Also, many streamers have resorted to using 900p as its less taxing on your system and takes less speed for folk to watch but still looks pretty much the same as 1080p.

Oh you switch software makes sense. I'm honestly fine with 720p 60fps tbh. Don't wanna go up with the bitrate rn since I'm having issues rn ha

what about the share feature? On or off? Sorry, just new to all this so I'm so confuse ha. Also, what you mean WAN IP from the system information?
