  1. Hello everybody! Was wondering if anybody could help me set up good setting for streaming while gaming, basically a balance but more focus on streaming if that makes any sense lol. I stream off the PC using obs on Twitch. I also use a capture card sometimes to play games on the PS4 which currently has nat type 3 on it so idk what to do, before I updated the router it was on nat type 3. I wanna stream on 720p 60fps. My download speed is around between 150-200 and upload is around 10-13. Also my router is connect to internet provider box and it's not on DMZ mode. Not able to do that cause of family reasons. If you could tell me step by step what to do cause I'm a beginner and have no idea what does what. Would really be HUGE help, thank you
  2. i play on a ps4 & livestream dropping 15-25 kills on warzone ive hosted tournaments for money before as well boys! i do GIVEAWAYS & i show my set up all the time to prove we stay legit! i just want to grow more man! were close to 1k #Natural #OGCodPlayerButWereYoung #Netduma #HelpMeGrowBoys https://youtu.be/ZKuzINp0awE
  3. I can’t geo filter any more on destiny server will there be an update or so to help get back into doing it or an ETA when it could be fixed I’ve tried everything from resetting the router to configuring it & also strict mode but nothing works at all. Should I just give up & return my router? I have the xr1000 & it worked well for 2 weekends now it’s like I can’t do anything anymore.
  4. Hi, I have the XR1000 Netgear Nighthawk router firmware version I have traffic priority on for DumaOS classified games on and it does not prioritize Call of duty or Call of duty Warzone. I run any sort of download or speed test on another device my ping sky rockets and the traffic priority does not come on. I know the priority works because if I load up Apex Legends and do the same tests the priority comes on and my ping stays nice and low. I have congestion control on as well and have played around with this. I have 500 download and 20 upload. I have my device slider dragged 65% on upload and 25% on download (not that this should matter as much as the packet priority I have it on anyways). It isn't my device because it will prioritize my brothers PC on Apex which I have set lower on the the download and upload slider and it still has 0 congestion and prioritizes that game. is there any way I can get traffic priority on Call of Duty Warzone? It does not give priority on Call of Duty Modern Warfare (multiplayer) either. How can I get priority for Warzone? One other thing, in the logs every once in a while it will stay DOS attack: Fragile Attack, and most of the time the internet shuts off, and I have to reboot the router to get it to come back up. This is quite annoying, should I be worried that it is an actual DOS attack, and how do I stop the router from cutting out and coming back up? This interrupts my live streams. I reset both my device IP and my WAN IP and this has stopped the cut offs from happening. I am using Dynamic IP and have not had a problem with a drop out since. It is not my provider as I have contacted them plenty, modem stays up and does not drop out, 0 packet loss whatsoever, but seemed like I needed to power cycle the router quite often. Thank you for your time, please let me know of solutions. -Riley
  5. I bought my Xr500 couple of months ago for its GeoFilter properties to avoid high pings and also to play with my own friends at lobbies. We used this last weekend but this weekend it seems it does not work. I used to getto Tower (destiny 2 social space) by myself when filter was on but now i am always in crowded lobbies. Also another test i used to do was to get into strikes and if i go in alone without anyone matchmake to my team i knew it is working. I tried both but it does not work!!! what could have happened between two weekends! Please help me!
  6. Hello, I am looking for assistance with configuring my XR500 router to get an Open NAT type for CoD Warzone as my NAT type is reporting as Moderate. Here is my current network path: PC > Switch (Netgear GS316 Unmanaged) > Router (XR500 (AC2600)) > Modem (Netgear CM1000). XR500 firmware is V2.3.2.56. If it matters, Cat6 cables connect each device. I have attached screen shots of my current port forwarding rules config for Warzone. And yes, my PC has a static IP address. Currently have QoS turned off as having it on didn't allow WiFi calling for my iPhone X (separately, has this been fixed? I heard that v3 beta might have a fix for this) My Geo-Filter config is completely default, I've never touched it. Nat Filtering in the WAN Settings is set to Secured. I tried setting this to Opened, but it didn't seem to help so I reverted it back to Secured. For reference, here is Activision's documentation for CoD port forwarding: Ports Used for Call of Duty Games (activision.com) I followed this post for port forwarding instrcutions: Ultimate NAT Guide and settings for XR500 - NETGEAR Communities Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
  7. Hi, I have been having some issues setting up my Minecraft server, primarily with port forwarding. My physical setup is just a NetGear XR500, I am connected to it via Wifi. I have forwarded the ports (TCP/UDP) 25565, and then as that did not work, tried 25569, and still no result. The server was unable to be reached by my friends, and when checking via canyouseeme.org, the ports reported as closed. I have double checked that I am using the correct internal IP, and I have tried both the external IP addresses I have. Which is unusual, I know, because I have never had 2 externals before. The WAN address I see via DUMAOS is different from the one I get when search "what is my ip address" via google. Before getting this router, I had been able to search my ip via google, provide that to my mates, forward 25565, and then no further issues were had. I have also tried re-forwarding the ports. If someone has had this exact same issue, and I have overlooked that thread, please link me so that I can try to fix it there. Any help is appreciated!
  8. Hey guys, I've been lurking on these forums for a while now though this is only the second time I've posted. Let me start by saying thank you to anyone and everyone whom takes the time to read this, even if you don't know what to make of it, or haven't a piece of helpful information to put forward. Let me also say I have learned so much about networking and technology over the last 3 years searching for a resolution to my problem, and for that I am thankful because I truly am passionate about technology and learning about the underlying mechanics that drive it and even allow it to operate. But with that said, I should have come here sooner looking for help but I'm stubborn and tend to be impatient, and posting in a forum to wait forever for a response seems unattractive as I have had not great experiences with posting on forums in general and receiving help. I'm also autistic and tend to be more of an introverted recluse, so asking for help isn't something that comes easy for me. A brief foot note I'll add in an effort to be as through and helpful as possible. My services are internet only 300/300 symmetrical. Provider of course being Frontier. Network topology is very simple which is as follows, Alcatel Lucent i-211m-l ONT - Nighthawk XR500 - LAN. I've gone down the list of simple common sense troubleshooting recommendations you'd expect from anyone with even the slightest inkling into networking such as, eliminating the possibility of a bad Ethernet cable, running ping plotters to check for oddities in line activity, even doing line quality checks at dslreports.com, and to no avail. From all that I can tell with ping plotter line quality appears great as you'd expect on a fiber optic connection. I can share results of dslreports line quality test or ping plotter if requested, but again no indication as far as I can tell that anything is a miss. One thing I will say though that strikes me as odd, and having read extensively on NAT, especially enjoying the comprehensive and meticulously written article Badmodems has on the subject. Full Cone, Partial Cone, and Port Restricted NAT being the most common ways NAT is implemented, it confuses me that when I forward a port to say my phone to check if it's actually being opened, then do a port scan from say canuseeme, sometimes I get a LAN access from remote in the logs indicating to me that a connection to said port was at least attempted, sometimes I don't, but it never says on the other end that it was successful. It either always says connection timed out, or port closed. Even with NAT Filtering set to open. Which bothers me more than a little. I've also read a little about Teredo regarding Xbox and how Microsoft handles NAT and the implications of needing players to have the ability to connect to one another. I definitely have a few questions regarding that and possibly what Sony's version of Teredo is. My problem has followed me across two ISP's and two routers for three years now. First with spectrum using a Nighthawk R7000, and a Arris Surfboard cable modem I purchased to entirely eliminate ISP equipment from the equation. Now with Frontier Fios, an Nighthawk XR500 and a direct connection to an Alcatel-Lucent i-211m-l ONT. The common denominator being Netgear Nighthawk routers. The issue I'm experiencing is strange to say the least. Every device I own and use I experience "lag" or latency when using said device. A list of those devices includes an Xbox one X, PlayStation 4 Pro, Asus ROG Phone 2, Razer Phone 2, Dell Laptop, and many more I won't arbitrarily list. Suffice it to say it's anything and everything I use. Alongside a very high latency when using any of these devices is a strange phenomenon, where I feel like things on the screen are almost warping and changing size, almost the way say a scaling feature would work. And with that also comes this odd two dimensional quality everything from games to YouTube videos exhibit. To elaborate on that a little more, as a for instance when I am not experiencing the issue (which is very rare) things look amazing in games, be it on my ROG phone 2 playing PUBG Mobile, or on my PlayStation 4 Pro playing Call of Duty. It's like the textures are so alive with depth and detail and the colours appear so much more vibrant, intricate, and present. Strangely enough, I would describe the issue I have with audio in a very similar manner, where all the detail and nuance is gone. I can't hear enemy players in things like PUBG Mobile or Call of Duty for the life of me (literally lol) until it's too late or I'm dead. Sensitivity in games is also very inconsistent, and never feels the same. Whether it's the touch screen of my phone, keyboard and mouse, or a controller. YouTube videos appear pixilated and blurry almost, lacking in visual and audible information. Players in games like Blackout and PUBG Mobile are very difficult for me to spot. And distances are very difficult to gauge, where it seems like things on the map, be it players or objects, appear farther away than they should be. Things like my wingsuit in Blackout are consistently pixelated and fail to properly render in. And lighting and shadows are also very strange with things appearing darker than they should be sometimes, like shaded areas and inside of buildings. Sometimes I'll walk into a structure for instance, like long barn in Blackout right beside red barn, by wagers and silo and it will be dark and oddly lit and suddenly the lighting will change where I can see and it's lit up the way it should be. There are other oddities such as haptic feedback being horribly inconsistent across the board on every Android device I've owned in the last three years. And typing feels very slow and tedious, with what I would also describe as a "lag" or latency regarding the input of characters and haptic response to hitting a key. Again, when things are working properly the small percentile of the time they do, this is not the case and everything feels so responsive and it's effortless to type things out. And on a $1000.00usd phone sporting a Snapdragon 855+ , Adreno 640 GPU, Cortex A-76 architecture, and a prime core clock speed of 2,960 MHz, I would hope the very least I should expect to be a responsive keyboard lol ;D. Anyway I've rambled long enough, and apologize for being long winded. To anyone who reads this, let me thank you once again for doing so regardless of whether you have some helpful piece of wisdom to offer or not. I'm at my wit's end with this issue and it's causing me to go to some very dark places psychologically, so any help is most certainly appreciated. Again from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
  9. Hey all, I am absolutely struggling to get my geo-filter to deny connects and keep them denied. I’ve done that will several, left them on my black list, and I still connect to them. I have the filter set to 800 miles, and I sometimes see the LA server. It only rarely connects there, but even when I do it’s still 50-70ms ping. So, if you need more info, let me know. Currently trying to figure out a way to find a wildly great host and keep my ping down to 20-30ms for every game, but it always picks either another crappy 70-90ms one, or one I’ve already denied for being a turd. Love your product so far, but there’s just a bit of tidying up my settings to really be able to be on a level playing field with other players. So far, it’s not horrible being truly connected the same/better than others, but it’s only about 5 out of 10 games. I’d like to make that number better so I can actually become decent at the game based on the talent I have (I think hahaha) and not because I’m pinging behind some of these guys always at 10-20ms ping. I’d like my streaming content to be a lot more interesting to watch. Thanks all! SaintFinngan. P.S. Check me out on Facebook when I get this fixed :D
  10. I need help setting up the xr500 to be able to support warframe port forwarding. im not sure how to do that as the ui is just a tid bit confusing. here is the site that explains what i need in the port area.
  11. hey guys love The R1!! I'm needing help!! as i'm having problems when i start streaming my Ps4 gameplay through the Pc via the Elgato hd60s which records PS4/ xbox. my problem is when start streaming i can not get a good connection as my bullets are rubber banding. not registering. and is frustrating. but when i dont live stream i get awesome connection? i have done multiple tests on dslreports and my ping is 12ms with a 2 ms buffer and get A+ across board. but that's not whilst i'm gaming as it would kick me out of the game. my sliders are set at 70% down and 90% as my ISP is BT braodband and get 76 down and 20 up. hyper traffic is turned on. could you please help. kind regards John M.
