Nothing was said about a month. I believe most have had a ton of patience. They (me included) were sold on a promise of a product and updated software. But deadlines have come and gone. Otherwise it could be inferred that we should be expected to be fine with waiting another 52 or 104 or 260 weeks... A little extreme but it follows the same logic. Giving the customers at least one update at some point in the four weeks leading up to the end of the first month shows respect for those R1 users who supported the company from the very beginning. What I do know is that back in early April . on the product page, it clearly stated that Duma OS would be available by the end of that month. The fact this was stated on the product page, the page where you click the "add to order" button to get the R1, the update is part of the product and should be honored without question. The debate about not promising anything and being free is BS when your putting **DumaOS will soon be launched as a free upgrade for all Netduma R1 users* as it stated now , or whatever it said previously relating to the R1. Beisides , nothing is free in reality. When your selling something you cant say that your going to give me something later at no charge when its ready and then not give it to me. Your making a sale under false pretenses. Thats bad business. Secondly , NetDuma seems to have issues with informing us of these delays in a timely manner. It makes the situtation worse than it should be. Im sorry but I would not consdier buying another Netduma or any netgear product if they cant come through with at least an announcement in the next few days. So Netduma Luke its been a few weeks +1. On Twitter today they stated that DumaOS is still being worked on for the R1 and it is STILL coming. Not a cheerleader, just stating facts. It's also an indicator on how the company itself deals with customers. Really the bare minimum in every aspect. 200$ burned while buying the r1. In most forums, mods do not really engage with users but float around in the background. Most forums are not as lenient with dissent and poor behaviour as in here. In most forums, most of the users in here would be on warning points or permanently banned. Forum mods are also paying customers, none of them are employed by Netduma, none of their opinions should be taken as representative of the opinions of Netduma. Whoever you're talking about though, that is talking down to users, report their post using the report button so that I can see what you mean. Also why do you think its okay for someone who mods this forum to belittle our arguments about the broken promises that Netduma made? It's basic phycology, you guys are doing it.It's no different if you are an official employee or not, you function as one. The case in this post is that netduma has been breaking its promise regarding a upgrade for a longtime. The frustration comes from a suggestions sub forum that is completely pointless that is based on the misconception that netduma can adapt to games. The furustration comes from a half working vpn mediator. To me this is not even worth putting in an effort for a full post. Whoever is supposed to represent " Netduma ", review your business model. There is a reason I stopped offering my support after 150 posts. Here is a advice, stop belittling customer frustration, This forum is unique. All posts that were made here by members are still here, apart from thos that had foul language in them or blatently incite discord, hatred or misinformation. As I am aware there's been no moderators in this forum who have talked down to any member or behaved in such a manner. As Boom has already stated we are also paying customers and are not paid by netduma or represent their opinions on their behalf. Our role is to respond as best we can to members issues in a polite manner and maintain forum integrity. Several members have had warnings, suspensions and even termination of accounts for some of their comments and foul language. Members are more than welcome to air their views and opinions, but it most be done in a civil and polite manner, say unto others as you would have said unto you. I wish it had been launched already with more gamers using DumaOS as I am sure Iain and the team do too. Has licensing to Netgear scuppered earlier plans for a 2017 release I am sure it has, I think that any business would be crazy to turn an offer from one of the biggest router company's in the world. Has the above upset users of course and Iain will be gutted it has, he is now under pressure twice as much as he used to be, probably more and is fighting to get the DumaOS out for everyone. I may buy a XR500 soon but looking at the specs of the R1 firmware and the Netgear firmware the R1 does so much more at the moment. I am sure when Iain releases it for the R1 he will then have time to write new RApp's and then it will catch up and then super seed the R1 but for now for me the R1 fw is where its at. All of the above are my thought's and not of Netduma as I am just a gamer and help out when I or if I can. Have some people taken it a bit far, yes but only because they have been wound up by other member's to a point where they are getting even more annoyed. If there has been any behavior from mod's or members that is deemed inappropriate please use the report process so it can me monitored and dealt with accordingly. Its not so complicated.. Backward compatibility is a problem that you could resolved in three ways , one of this way could be done in 3/4 hours of work.. I don't think that's ok. There are no mods belittling customers' frustrations, we have all said that we completely understand the frustration and that we have the same frustration.
