Buddy..... dont knock the guy for trying to help.......... he could have chosen to not post anything......according to everyone cod servers dont run at tickrates above 60hz.........well clearly they do (as a few of us have confirmed and as you have also seen).
I'm not answering for DMC but unless you guys are on the same timezone i'm sure he will respond soon enuf when he gets the notifications.
As for an online 1v1 that wudnt say much cos either you, him or someone else will host and the internet will decide who wins - in a perfect world your challs could be met on Lan with ease.
The problem here is "why" on DumaOs (XR500) does the tickrate not remain stable all the time as it does on the R1 and R700.....same goes for the send and receive rates...... the irratic spikes can never be normal. I want proper answers and solutions from Netduma not the same rhetoric that gets repeated over n over without end.

What leads you to say that its misinformation?
I have showed that what he says is true.
I'm on the other side of the globe to where he is and i get the same results aka 120-140hz tickrate when stable and the gaming experience is flawless.
As for the throttling methods..... that works as well as i've done it last year already..... i played without issue on giving my ps4 500kbps on both the down and upload sides.
The admin and or mods wont comment now as they were of the same view as you.......it is what it is......... the OS has flaws that keeps us from gaming in near perfect conditions.

Had a crappy connection but ruffed it out - Need the cloud update sorted as i'm not connecting to the lowest ping servers as i did in the beta.
Beta ping to closest servers 20-25ms
Current ping to servers further away 45-60ms with alot of spikes
    Enjoy the gameplay tho.

Jesus you're connection is crisp. They barely had a chance to shoot you, you had them in front you in running animation and you can hear your bullets register so fast. What are your settings? Are you also having stabilization of over 100hz tickrate in dumaOs?

I kinda disagree, I don't camp, I do check corners for campers and I am loving the game and Ive been playing online since the first modern warfare. the maps are massive and they are not the standard 3 route lanes that people are used to but I find that refreshing.
I am not experiencing the massive amount of campers that most seem to be complaining about, yes I do find them on most games but no more than usual and as always there are ways to deal with them. If that makes me a noob after years of playing then im a noob and loving it. AS has been said to me on many occasions when complaining about the the jet pack jumping E number coke snorting jump about games, if ya dont like it play something else. nobody got a gun to your head. Most people that are complaining on youtube played the alpha and beta so know what they were getting and many you tubers probably didn't even have to pay for the game so, meh.
Im against the grain but this is the game I wanted. Back to gameplay like the original modern warfare.

I'll run Apex to see if the tickrate stabilizes as high as it does with cod.
For me the common denominator and culprit still remains the OS.
I literally play the same if not better with my normal router (with no qos or geofilter) vs the XR500 (i'm sure many ppl will state the same).
The higher tickrate stabilization gameplay is something else tho.......if you've played competitively on Lan then you'll know what i mean.
Without changing any qos settings on my setup, just monitoring the tickrate and getting it stabilized at 120-130hz makes a world of difference.
I would suggest giving it a try and letting us know how you find it.

Afternoon guys......i wont quote the posts above as they are mad long and i dont want anyone to get lost.
I managed to stabilize the tickrate with the phone connected in 5ghz (then removed when aka wifi on phone switched off) ......stabilization took abit longer for me and than anticipated but it did stabilize and stayed that way.
I'll check the game out when i get home later to see how things go today.
So what i wanna know is, why do we have to manipulate things to get these results and almost perfect gaming experiences when thats what the router aka software (dumaos) should be delivering by default...... and yes it can only be the software as we've showed now that its not hardware related.
There is no denying anything now.

Aright so scroll earlier on this thread and look for my big answers descrbing every steps to properly downgrade and upgrade and factory resets... do it 3 times in a row like explained and from ther it will already runs better !!! I strongly suggest you to find another device like a tv to hook on 5ghz for stabilisation trick !!! From there your router will run like new for the first time and will already performs better...based on over 20 routers i tested every procedures i shared !!! From there it will be easier to stabilise so ya'll just need to find a proper device that hook on 5ghz and that trigger the stability trick !!!

    Evening Bud
Nah i am playing wired (not wireless) hence i mentioned that i am limited to the cat 5e cables that i am currently using.
I connect to the xr500 via wifi (2.4ghz) on my laptop.
I use my cell phone which is 5ghz to try and stabilize.
One thing i'm seeing now that different that you mentioned vs the video was to connect the 5ghz device whilst in the game but not whilst in a match? I was trying to stabilize it whilst in a match.
What i'll do now as a test is to ping the saved served manually then connect the 5ghz device with it streaming Scump in tonights 2v2 10k comp and see if it stabilizes.
I also looked up the hdmi fiber cable and came across 'monoprice' and 'moshoa'
Trust me i am just as iffy as you when it comes to the small things, lol.
The Cat 8 cables as well as the HDMI fiber cables are game changing......whoever doubts it can remain in the dark.

I'm fine with it even remaining at 120-130hz fixed.....as that double the 60hz norm.

Niiiice... finally someone that have done things properly !!! If i understand properly between lines you seems to say you played on wifi ??? If so... don't do that !!! Your console really need to be hook via Lan cable !!! You only use wifi 2.4ghz to manage your router aka you use your phone or tab in 2.4ghz wifi to get on a web browser to then enter in Duma Os to manage it !!! Don't use a Lan device to manage aka to look at auto ping stats...it need to be done via wifi 2.4ghz only !!! Then the trick with the 5ghz... sadly it's the only trick that always work !!! I'll try further testing like with other devices !!! Like i said... i use my tv on the 5ghz wifi to stabilise the XR500... but i'm thinkin there should be other devices that will do the trick...but it need to be hooked via 5ghz wifi !!! If you have a 5ghz wifi device... game need to be started...not plaing a match but you have to be ingame...then hook your 5ghz device...make sure it communicate aka go on youtube app or netflix or speedtest... then once you sure it communicate... you then Unhook it from wifi... now you can enter in a match...seconds later your tickrate should stay at minimum 120hz and higher !!!
As for the cables... i've suggested Monoprice as it's really one of the best quality available with the best specs of them all and at a real cheap price !!! Also they in the Usa and deliver worlwide as it seems !!! I also took an hdmi 2.1 from them at like 13$ us and it do a great job...same visual quality than my optical fiber hdmi 2.1 but just a lil less fluid(no one will see the difference except real nanosecond freaks like me...and definitly no one that never had a 2.1 hdmi cable) so you really should take one with your cat8 lan cables !!! If you have a bit more money... go on alibaba search for Moshou HDMI 2.1 Optical Fiber (AOC=Active Optical Fiber)... there's a place that sell them for around 50$us and they ship worldwide too !!!

    Hey Bud
Thanks for all the info you posted......your video commentary is hella funny as well.
I can concur that Modern Warfare (and BO4) servers are running at above 60hz.
i have a highest figure of 140-160hz but unfortunately i cannot get it to stabilize there, however it stabilizes on 70hz most of the time with spikes to the aforementioned figures.
I am on the other side of the globe to you (in South Africa to be exact).......i'm using cat 5e cables as that whats available (will most likely have to order cat 8 off amazon)
Apart from the 5ghz trick, is there any other way i can get the 140-160hz to stabilize?
Oh and yes.......it feels like i'm playing on Lan when it settles for a short while and my bullets melt at ease.
    Thanks in Advance!!

GUYS i won't say it again.... battlenonsens is WRONG !!! You listen and trust one guy... i am also one guy but another guy !!! I do daily tests and it's been over 20years !!! As for COD i play since the first one and had them all on day 1 and played them all on daily basis and competitions... except for shitty BO4 that made me kind of quit COD so i let my friends play on my account when they here 😛  !!!  Lan is restricted and wifi is not (at least not in same way) so that's why you need to be on wifi to properlly detect Tickrates !!! Maybe it will change soon when they start understanding the problems and updating every lan adapters ect so from there we will be able to properlly detect tickrates via Lan !!! But for now i've put way too much time finding all these problems and solutions ect also as to write long texts with too many explications... so i won't test further with more devices ect... fuck that ... it is what it is and how it is !!! We use Duma Os so for us the best is to do what i teach... if you don't it's sad for you and it's your own problem !!! I come here loosing time just to explain a simple thing to people aka If you play while the tickrate runs at 60 and then stabilise it so it jumps at 120 and stays there... You will feel the huge difference and that will confirm you that i'm right !!! Yes it could have been a misreading but guys even the R1 runs arouund 100hz and up+ and is stable !!! So no i don't think it's firmwares related aka glitch !!! Duma Os 1.3 came out a year ago and we played at 120hz and higher each and every days till today !!! So if you prefer trusting others talk instead of trusting proofs that your eyes can see... well i can't help you for that !!! Take care guys... Peeeaace !!!

Oh and just so you guys know... i stopped messing with bufferbloat tests when i confirmed that it change nothing (even more for most of you since you funny guys do test bufferbloat via pc to play on consoles so any results you have are wrong !!! The only proper way to test bufferbloat is via the console itself... if not you'll never be accurate at all !!!  I was loosing tons of mins before each gaming sessions just to test bufferbloat and i got tired so i decided to mess the bufferbloat while playing with slidders... then played games while with b or c bufferbloat results...and same outcome ingame !!! Wanna know why ??? Never the bufferbloat tests have been made for consoles and gaming so it use different (codes-ways of running-ect what's the proper words for that?) than the consoles while they game... so your bufferbloat tests can say you A+ but still you will shoot first die first ect... ya'll look like a noooob even if you a bad ass mothafucka like me 😛 simple as that !!!
It is what it is and i do my best to explain so everybody start understanding what is what and what really matter from there !!! Stop loosing time on that and put all your time to Stabilise your Duma Os router so ya'll start enjoying flawless gaming sessions like me !!! I'm stuck on New Jersey dedis on BO4 located at over 600kms from me in real world...at 16 to 20ms while on other CODs i'm on Montreal dedis at 7ms and now it's almost identiqual on any COD... it's always flawless when XR500 is Stabilized at 120hz and up+ !!!
  20. Thanks
GHOST-1-EC reacted to DMC_81 in Lag comp has totally cripple my game as a decent player
I tested this on 10 different XR500 now and they all do the same !!! Tickrate is running at 120hz and no it's not a fw bug... I said it multitude of times... there is LAN problems with Duma Os on XR500... i won't even enumerate them... so if you pass via LAN you won't be able to see 120hz... something prevent it !!! While if you pass via unrestricted wifi you can see it running at 120hz !!! If you then happen to do what i do ya'll be able to stabilise it so it will stay at optimal 120hz !!! Funny thing is that when ya'll do it and succeed in stabilising it at 120hz... ya'll feel the Flawless Gaming Experience i always refer to aka playing like you're not playing on internet !!! Ya'll pass from shoot first die first to I kill them all since everything will properly register !!! It does the same on Vdsl2 FTTN and Cable and FTTH lines !!! It's a real Day/Night difference and everybody who tried it properly confirmed it !!!
Now is it only Duma Os problem ?? No i don't think so !!! It might be because Lan drivers have to be updated accordingly to enable higher tickrate...or chipsets needs updates...ect ect ect !!! Years ago the max tickrate was surely locked at 60hz everywhere... but guys please keep in mind we already at 120hz everywhere... look at 8k tv's at 120hz !!! HDMI 2.1 enables 8k 120hz !!! Next gen consoles coming in next months will be able to do 8k 120hz and there's feedbacks on demos with ps5 and gran turismo running at 8k 120 fps !!! CPU's and GPU's are already there at 8k 120hz right now too !!! Maybe it have been implemented in networks already... maybe not... but i confirm and have thousands of daily proofs that COD runs at 120hz since day 1 that we had the option to see it aka Tickrate with auto ping !!! Is this related to my isp ??? NO because i tested on different isp's and line types and all do the same !!! Is it only in my Canadian country... we may be highly advanced but i don't think so... i really think it's the same everywhere since the globe settle to the same specs now !!!
Like i already explained guys... i had Gigantic problems with both R1 and XR500's and i fixed everything by doing multitude of factory resets and unplugging power and downgrading and factory resets again and unplugging again... updating to proper firmware via LAN then factory resets again while still unplugging between each downgrade/upgrade/factory reset ..... then setting everything up !!! I won't describe all things that where wrong but let say that a lot of options aren't working properly until you properly do like i did !!! Now everything work as expected except the cloud on which i have no control sadly (even the cloud app they made to auto optimise their cloud seems to don't understand that each physical location dedis all have the same beginning and ending ip's (A2AD--------C2C7 = Montreal,Qc COD dedis) and all them will have same ''first-3-batch'' of ip adress like (173.199.65.any number here = Montreal,Qc COD dedis) so it still put wrong dedis to wrong physical location on their map and a lot of Montreal,Qc people appears in the water under South-Africa on their map  :s  )... and i never faced a problem or so-called visual glitch again !!!
battlenonsens probably use an XR router with lan so he thinks the tickrate is 60hz but he is wrong !!! Also my isp confirmed that we can run 120hz !!! And if it was a visual glitch or bla bla bla what reason... there would be no difference in the outcome... but the actual outcome when stabilized at 120hz is that it play so good and you don't die from weird stupid things like shoot first die first scenarios so you still happy even when you get killed !!! The gaming experience is way more fair vs when unstable (lots of shoot first die first even in Hardcore modes we always play on) !!!
The real problem you're facing right now is not if and why... It should be How can we get same Awesomeness than DMC !!!  I never gave a fuck about what papers say... like i read them to see the big lines but never i take them for granted compared to testing things out !!! That's why after being stuck at 60hz on XR500 and dealing with lot of problems... like you all... while my old R1 was running stable at around 100hz on same setup i pushed tests further and like always i fixed everything and found out a way to stabilise XR500's Tickrate that work on every XR500 i tested (had to fix them all by resets-downgrades-resets-upgrades-setup) !!! And like i said... i know i fixed everything since i never faced a problem again and Duma Os react better and faster on both phone to manage it or pc !!! Also there was times when it was unstabilisable like it always is on .56 firmware.... but now it's always stabilisable (except on .56 like i said) !!!  I can even tell you if you did reboot or not your XR500 before stabilising it just by the amount of time it takes your XR500 to stabilise !!!
If you use Lan to manage your Duma Os you Wont...''enable''... the optimal Tickrate aka 120hz !!!
You need a wifi 2.4g device to manage it aka to look at auto ping stats showing your Tickrate and the Dedis's Tickrate !!!
You need to reboot your router before every gaming session !!! Then when rebooted you use a 2.4g wifi device to go in Duma Os panel control - geo filter - auto ping stats !!!
When it's all done ya'll see your tickrate bouncing from 60 to 120 (and note that if 120hz wasn't possible We Wouldn't be able to see it and stabilise it...at all) then do my trick to stabilise :
STABILISATION TRICK: Once the game is started you want to hook a 5g wifi...i use my tv and suggest you guys to hook your tv via 5g wifi instead of Lan... then you want to make sure your tv communicate online (my Premium Samsung is set to auto connect to my samsung account so as soon as i see the notification i know it communicate...if i didn't saw the notification i don't take chance i enter in youtube or netflix just to see a video moving then close tv and open it right away... then if you look at your Tickrate it still fluctuate from 60 to 120... the SO SIMPLE TRICK consist of disabling wifi on your tv... YES SIMPLE AS THAT !!! Now look at auto ping stats and Tickrates will stabilise (in 20 to 30 seconds if you rebooted router before the gaming session and from 30seconds to 2mins if you didn't rebooted your router before the gaming session !!!) and no need to tell you guys that if it takes that much longer to stabilise if no reboot is done before... that clearly means that it's not working optimal at all aka there's a lot of problems preventing you from enjoying the best experience possible... and THAT'S WHY i so strongly Recommend to do things like i do guys since it always work and sometimes i forget to stabilise it and trust me it takes us less than 30 seconds to find out since things aren't registering properly... so i immediately hook my tv online...make sure it communicate...disabling tv's 5ghz wifi off then enjoying flawless gaming session while everything register like supposed to !!!
I also tested while another phone was on the 5ghz and it's really not a good thing since as soon as there is a communication on that device hooked on 5ghz then the stabilisation trick gets kicked out so you always need to re-do the trick consisting in hooking tv on 5ghz wifi then makin it communicate then disabling it... all while you still play !!! So i strongly Recommend that every wifi devices are hooked via 2.4ghz and only the tv on 5ghz so you use the tv to stabilise the XR500...and since nothing else is triggering the 5ghz then your XR500 will stay stable until you reboot it or change game (yes even if you switch from a COD to a COD) !!! If you read everything you understood that ya'll need to re-do the stabilisation trick every time you change game or reboot router !!!
Wish you all to enjoy your Gaming Sessions like we do with R1 and XR500 !!! Take care... Peeeaace !!!

Just a follow up for anyone interested. I set up another router on my network behind the XR500. The second router is connected to the network via it's LAN port. Connecting through the WAN caused issues. So my setup now is modem > XR500(WAN), XR500(LAN) > ASUS(LAN).
Disabled the DHCP on the XR500 and set it up on the 2nd router. Everything SEEMS to be working well at the moment. Geofilter still detects any console and appears to be working fine. QoS is harder to figure out but it looks like its working fine.
The only issue I have found is that the XR500 can no longer resolve NEW device names. If the device was discovered by the XR500 then it retains its details. However all new devices are added as 'Unnamed Device'.
Looks pretty good so far, so now if I have to reset my XR500 my IP reservations will not be lost

Ok so you got me there, so they mention they have fixed some game prioritisation issues but what good is that with the basic flaw that you cant prioritise locale connections through the geofilter due to the cloud being fudged it kind of defeats the point
Also im not speculating im stating the obvious
We are only going to get any really major fixes in milestone 1.4 if were lucky, Netduma are either still working on milestone 1.4 or its either going through the testing process, see alex's comment above, either way why would they split their workload at this point we will not get anymore fixes between now and the 1.4 release and that is a fact and then and only then we have to wait for Netgear to push it out like i said don't expect it anytime soon.
Now your last comment directed at me about spreading fud causing unnecessary rest is rather uncalled for
I don't pretend to be something Im not, I say what I see and I am free to have my opinion and so is everyone else
What really is creating the unrest is having to listen to all the Bull**** and Promises about fixes coming when they don't materialise then having to wait another another 8 months plus only to be told the same thing
I ain't getting any younger neither is anyone else
We want what we paid for.

GHOST-1-EC reacted to Killhippie in XR500 DDwrt Firmware
Because their are QoS issues reported by people, DPI false positives, port mapping in table view in DumaOS being the opposite way round to Netgears base Firmware view (Its a Netgear router so DumaOS runs on top of Netgears firmware on the XR range) devices showing online when not and vice versa plus a hotfix not in the main firmware fork for disconnects amongst other reports of issues since milestone 1.3. So no the router is not working as intended, unless broken is the intended way and I'm pretty sure Netduma and Netgear know that's not what they want and are working to fix these bugs and maybe taking longer to make sure they get squashed properly. Also there will always security issues to fix at some point and don't forget your version of UPnP/1.0 miniupnpd  is 13 years old so bang up to date! So yep its doing well...
