Zennon got a reaction from Mostafa Gad in Ping Plotter Quick Guide
Fraser has asked me to post a guide for PingPlotter, I will keep it simple like myself, here goes..
Download PingPlotter Here
Type a close IP to your region I usually use twitter.com or .co.uk but as i write this both were connecting to the US as I am in the UK I have set the ping plot to bbc.co.uk.
Typing bbc.co.uk into the target address bar leaving the interval at 2.5 then pressing enter on your keyboard or the go button.
A congested line looks like this.
You can see the ping in real time, the ping numbers are listed to the left of the plot.
I achieved this by setting my congestion control sliders to 100% each so that the duma was not helping with local congestion thus saturating the line.
If you have a ISP issue from say a Intel PUMA 6 based CPU in a modem or ISP congestion an BT line fault (US/World infrastructure alternative) or even a faulty Ethernet cable, RJ11 or faulty Master socket face plate your line may look like this even when you set your sliders lower.
This is a line idle with minimal traffic being used that does not use a PUMA 6 based chipset or have any network issues.
This is a line downloading a full width saturating the line but using the duma congestion control at 70% each way
If you would like to post a bad result to the forum or save a plot to prove to your ISP there is an issue after ruling out your own network then press File and click on save image and this will give you an image of the GUI at that moment for you.

Congratulations, all those years ago, the R1 fixed so many network issues for me, helped me game without others streaming causing me to lag.
And now your doing that at source with ISP's. Amazing to see what you've achieved guy's, bravo.

I shall upgrade the FW tonight after work.
Been loving the smart ping. Much more "sit down" and much less "wtf" 😁

Zennon got a reaction from Kris in SteadyPing resets to "On" after router reboot, tutorials show up on each login
Do you have a cookie blocker on? or are you clearing your cookies?
I had mine on and for the first times I logged it ran it again then I set the R3 to my cookie white list and it does not ask now.

Zennon reacted to Netduma Greg in "Couldn't Ping Server"
By default none of the COD servers allow pinging directly, when pinging happens on the UI for them we are doing additional work to do that. It should not influence gameplay in any way (sorry @Netduma Fraser I have to correct you there).
The Stabilised state for Steady Ping is the only thing that directly influences the gameplay.
Some details on what Steady Ping does exactly and why is it working even when we can't ping:
Ping is always a request->response and we measure the time for this roundtrip. Steady Ping on the other hand just sitting on your router and processing the response part. Your game server sends these in perfectly uniform intervals (this interval is the tickrate), but when they reach you the intervals are not so uniform because of the internet. So what Steady Ping does that it applies an additional delay (this is what you see in the graph) so it has a window of time where it can make these responses arrive in order and in uniform intervals to your PC/Console, so in the game everything appears as smooth as the server intended. (Disclaimer: Ping and game traffic are different types of traffic in reality, but the mechanism is the same to process them)
This is the reason why even if we can't ping (we don't have the request side) everything still works, or even if the ping graph might have a spike you will not see this in game because it might've happened on the request side.
Also this is the reason in-game ping (graphs) are always more accurate.

Also reboot the R3.

No need to have it that wide as 80Mhz gives 1.2GB as is.

Happy days.

I have a SH2 and just got the R3 the other day and I am not seeing speed drops my set up.
Ethernet out of the SH2 > Into the blue WAN port of the R3
Duma in the SH2 DMZ
R3 DHCP on
Using the 192.168.77.* range in LAN
I then get a Duma WAN IP sent from the SH2 : 192.168.1*
Told the SH2 to set the Duma IP as a static.
I did try to set another way that I thought would be better but the above works out the best.
Been getting 1gb download speeds wired.
Giving the WiFi 5Ghz an 80Mhz band to get the full WiFi speeds.

Zennon got a reaction from Zippy in ANNOUNCEMENT: Introducing the Netduma R3
Mine arrived yesterday, put it behind my SmartHub 2.
Played some games yesterday with steady ping on.
Had a play with the settings and could see the ping moving up and down in real time.
Really nice was waiting for this for a long time.
GUI looks very professional.
WiFI I separated the two bands so I can connect to witch ever of the two I wish.
I was getting 287ish mb using 5ghz.
I upped the width of the bands to get 1000mb
For people with less tech knowledge I was thinking after a speed test or after inputting your speeds maybe it should auto set the bands wider when you have say 1000mb so that folk with large DL and UL dont wonder why its not very fast.
Going to smash some more MWIII tonight
