Okay good so all working now? Do you mean new options compared to the old version?

Ethernet cable from the LAN or internet port on the R2 to the PC? Should just be able to access it when connected via ethernet or WiFi.

You don't need to be, but you're installing a tunnel essentially which can bypass the router so the router can't tell you're on the local network. You can do it without internet through the IP address

cold war season 6 lag & cheaters
Netduma Fraser replied to Jackal235's topic in Call of Duty Support
Its actually more likely to happen when there are a lot of players as the servers get overwhelmed, given the new season that does make sense. Regarding potential cheaters or playing cross play that's not something we can help with. If you're seeing a low ping on the Geo-Filter but the in game ping is over 30 ms higher then indicates it is under load and you may have a better experience forcing a different server. -
The "Deny" in Geo Filter
Netduma Fraser replied to Comp0za's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Denies you made today or ones previously made as well? Are they definitely denied in that auto ping brings it up with the name you previously gave it when denied? Ping Assist can allow a server if it the initial ping was under the value set, even if it increases afterwards. That being said, Auto Ping didn't show any rates at all, doesn't look like it went into the game fully, the ping panel also didn't stop when the host did - we you just searching for a game at this point? We are working on an update and it shouldn't be far off now. -
XR500 VS Netduma R2
Netduma Fraser replied to Alongcory's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
There will be another firmware coming for the R1, as to whether the issue they found on the R2 translates to the R1 as well I'm not sure on yet but I imagine as it is a firmware issue that it should help on all the other platforms as well. -
XR500 VS Netduma R2
Netduma Fraser replied to Alongcory's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
It happens a lot less on the R2, we've also spent many months determining why it happens and a fix for that will be in the next firmware so maybe wait a little bit until that is out and reassess whether you want to purchase -
XR500 VS Netduma R2
Netduma Fraser replied to Alongcory's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Yep that's right you've got it. It is a very old router so it is possible it's just degraded over time but give it a reboot - remember to remove PPPoE details from the R1 if you haven't already and then see how you get on with QoS. -

How is the TP setup - is it in bridge mode? PPPoE could potentially be it, it might not be working well with QoS. If you could have the TP handle PPPoE with the R1 in the DMZ then I think that would work better -

Netduma Fraser replied to Comp0za's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
I believe that was the reason we didn't make it public, a player doesn't need to know another players IP address and makes it easier to DDoS them if that person is so inclined -
XR500 VS Netduma R2
Netduma Fraser replied to Alongcory's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
That doesn't really make sense, it's supposed to help in that very situation, I haven't seen anyone else with issues like this that I can recall. What is the model of the modem/router the R1 is connected to? Are ALL devices connected to the R1? Are you using PPPoE or anything like that for a connection? -

Just using QoS generally should prevent that occurring, Congestion Control on Always 70/70 should do the trick -

Do it via the hardware button, if there is a software issue it should bypass this and offer a new slate. Hold the reset button for 30 seconds, release, wait 2 minutes then access, go through the wizard and see if it loads correctly. -

How did you do the factory reset, via the interface or using the button in the back of the router? It is quite odd it's doing that. -

Netduma Fraser replied to Comp0za's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
The ID can only be converted to an IP by us but the IP is usually shown in the domain field on the ping panel - it's not always accurate which is why we ask for the ID instead -

XR500 VS Netduma R2
Netduma Fraser replied to Alongcory's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
@andybtsn if 2.0 was your issue I'd recommend at least trying the 3.0 beta for the R1 before you decide on purchasing another router as it may just work fine for you and your connection: https://forum.netduma.com/topic/35821-new-r1-firmware-30207/ make sure you do a factory reset once it's finished upgrading and see if it performs any better for you. If it doesn't seem to load after the upgrade you'll need to clear your browser cache/cookies. -
XR500 VS Netduma R2
Netduma Fraser replied to Alongcory's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
What do you mean the R1 couldn't cope with the software anymore? What issues were you having? We usually say if you care more about software than hardware then the R2, if hardware then XR500. Given your speeds and if you're not planning to upgrade that anytime soon then the R2 would be what I recommend. -
Could you make a new topic for your issue please and we can help there. While you do that, see if you can grab the log file from the System Information page when the disconnect occurs as that may help narrow it down.

The "Deny" in Geo Filter
Netduma Fraser replied to Comp0za's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Do you mean it allows it instead of denying it or that it doesn't block it and therefore it can be allowed? Are you waiting 2 minutes after denying before searching for a game again so the connection can be severed? -

Great news! Are you using Mirror mode or is it disabled and you're connecting to 5GHz manually? -

That's quite possibly due to Safari, if you use another browser does it work? -
