Keeping My Netgear X1000
Netduma Fraser replied to Harley's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
No you don't have to change any of that but it would be a good idea to enter the WAN IP of the R2 (found on the System Information page) in the DMZ on the modem, this will ensure you can continue to get an Open NAT/prevent a double NAT. -
Firmware 3.2 for XR500
Netduma Fraser replied to Stilts29's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
That's great to hear! You could use something like this: https://www.grc.com/dns/benchmark.htm to find the DNS that is the fastest for you/your connection. -
Destiny 2 PC -nothing showing in geo filter
Netduma Fraser replied to morgs91's topic in Netduma R2 Support
I'm not sure how well D2 is working on filtering at the moment, especially for PC but try this: Quit the application/game/client completely Remove device from the Geo-Filter Give PC PlayStation Device Type in the Device Manager (if on PC) Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter with the manual option Set up the Geo-Filter how you like Wait 2 minutes Boot up application/game/client Then see if it works better. -

Is your web browser set to clear cache/cookies when you close a tab/browser entirely? Are the credentials auto saved so that it tries to login automatically? -
NEW XR450 BETA FIRMWARE: 3.3.535
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Lew's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
It's not recommended to restore a backup from a previous version as it some cases it could be incompatible. -
On Virgin Media it was 1Gbps download and 50Mbps up! We have a lot of catching up to do!

I mean, I think not having to login to use the internet would help and depending on how you had that set on the XR it may have logged out/in frequently. I feel like in the UK upload seems to be more of an afterthought, you rarely ever see symmetrical download/upload speeds for example.

It's really hard to say, there a lot of variables, could be less people are using TalkTalk in your area for example. In regards to PPPoE the R2 definitely works better when it isn't being used.

If VoIP isn't using an RJ45/ethernet connector then you won't be able to connect it to the R2, you'd need to still connect that to the modem. Then just disable WiFi on the modem and have everything else other than VoIP using the R2. -
Firmware 3.2 for XR500
Netduma Fraser replied to Stilts29's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
I think that's a good idea, that will tell us where the issue is, monitor it over a few days to be sure -

Firmware 3.2 for XR500

If you're getting packet loss on the Ping Test that indicates an ISP issue or you don't have very good routing to the Google servers which is used for that test. Do you experience packet loss anywhere else? -
NEW XR500 BETA FIRMWARE: 3.3.535
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Lew's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
That's for letting us know, I think it's to be expected when having to upgrade to the intermediary firmware and not being able to upgrade directly, hopefully it'll be smoother sailing from here on out. -

Firmware 3.2 for XR500
Netduma Fraser replied to Stilts29's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
You'll need to do it with Always set otherwise it won't be reflected in the test, do it in 10% intervals as you did then when you get to a value that seems to work more than most try 5% either side of that to see if it can be further improved. What are your internet speeds? -

Firmware 3.2 for XR500
Netduma Fraser replied to Stilts29's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
What percentage intervals did you try? Upload isn't looking much better - are you doing the tests with it set to Always? There is definitely no functional benefit for you doing that but no it shouldn't negatively impact you either. -
Bad Hit Reg. Latency 1 second behind the enemy movements.
Netduma Fraser replied to Oguzhan's topic in Call of Duty Support
Great to hear that, thanks for the update! -

Restart WAN without restarting router
Netduma Fraser replied to Mohit Sharrma's topic in Community Discussion
It's unlikely to be implemented as you can kind of do this by going to Settings > WAN > Network > DHCP and clicking Save Network there -
Internet LED always on regardless of WAN status
Netduma Fraser replied to Mohit Sharrma's topic in Netduma R2 Support
As it'll be plugged into an existing modem/router it's essentially showing whether it is receiving traffic from that device which indicates network status. If it's flashing then that's a good sign, if it's solid and not flashing then there could be an issue with the internet/not receiving any data from the ISP modem/router. -
Delete all your devices from the Geo-Filter and refresh the page, does the error return?
