You're precisely why we choose to have a forum for support, we can't be available all the time so it always helps to have people helping out each other! Well that'll be why it went bad after optimizing the ping at least - it cuts off the internet to perform the tests. What Congestion Control settings are you using currently (Ping Optimizer > Advanced)? How is SmartBOOST setup? You can disable Steady Ping on the Geo-Filter if you feel as though it adding ping may be negatively impacting you. I mean as in we just don't offer a live chat/call service, it's forum/email/socials based.

Xbox - Alternative port switches on its own
Netduma Fraser replied to Deasha's topic in Community Discussion
For consoles potentially yes but I think it is more DPI based now e.g. if you're playing on an Xbox it should be able to tell you're playing CoD which it could tell based on ports alone -

On the Xbox itself in network settings make it use port 3074. We did do a DPI update recently so also resync the cloud on the Device Manager. Once you've done both those things see if it then works correctly please. -
The wired setup you mentioned is exactly how you would do it. While you have everything else using the AX really the main feature to use is the Geo-Filter as SmartBOOST/Congestion Control wouldn't be very effective at controlling the network.

I don't provide live service support so I won't always reply immediately but I will always reply. You mentioned you didn't have the issue until you tried to optimize your ping so what exactly was it you did at that time?

That literally makes 0 sense, have you disabled DHCP or anything like that? Can you connect using the DumaOS iOS app?

It's just prioritizing traffic though, not doing any kind of blocking or port forwarding -

When playing have a look in Stats for nerds or Network Activity, does it show gaming there? What port is your Xbox using? -
Have you got the R3 in the DMZ on your ISP modem/router? I can request the feature to be added but may not be a quick thing

Ah that's great to hear, thanks for the update! We'll be doing WiFi improvements where possible so should get better!

Can't connect Netduma r3 via PPPoe
Netduma Fraser replied to liolio2277's topic in Netduma R3 Support
You can see the tickrate if you click on the ping/server when it shows up on the right of the screen. That has been requested so may be added in future. I'm not sure we'll do that as the end user doesn't really need to know it and it could be used for malicious purposes. -

Can you provide a screenshot of what you see when you get a game outside your radius please? How do you have SmartBOOST set? -
Likely the Geo-Filter blocking a server, causing it to use one further away but it won't impact your game ping. What is the average ping you're seeing on the Geo-Filter?
-
I'd say the Geo-Filter ping as that is the ping direct to the server which you have some control over. Steady Ping on the simple mode generally adds 5-10ms on top so if your fluctuations are that small you should be fine without it. 5-10ms as above but it will try to compensate based on the spikes/fluctuations you're having. If you feel it's adding too much you can use the expert mode and set a target ping - i.e. if your ping is 10ms but fluctuates between 10 - 20ms then you can set expert to 20ms.
-
Where are you measuring the packet loss and latency? What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g. R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode The more information you provide the better I can help

We open it in order to flash the latest firmware on it - it comes sealed from the factory but it doesn't have our software on. It's not ideal, we're going to get them to stop doing that. It will be new though I assure you.

As in your are using it or you'll try that? -
It won't actually reflect your ping in game, it's just the ping to an authentication server, do you have good ping in game?
-
My previous response is correct: XR500 is a combination of DumaOS (created by us) + Netgear hardware/settings - IGMP is in Settings, therefore done by Netgear, we have no involvement. R3 is purely DumaOS (created by us) this includes the settings - Our settings will not be the same as Netgear settings, IGMP isn't missing as it wasn't ever included in our own settings Just to be clear, Netduma R1, R2, R3 have never had an IGMP option in settings, we have not made that functionality. IGMP option in settings does exist on the XR router settings, made by Netgear.

Are you referring to upload not being affected when doing Ping Optimiser? Could you try to find the best MTU for your connection when using PPPoE and see if that makes any difference please?
-
Have you factory reset or changed the WiFi password at all and the devices are still trying to connect using the old password?

Make sure you use the simple mode to filter as well instead of custom -
The settings on the Netgear routers are done by them, the settings on our routers are done by us so it's not available but it never was so hasn't been removed if you see what I mean
