Okay so they said nothing specific in the .41 version but that the packet re-ordering fix that was included may fix it but do try it and let us know

Thanks for the kind words! Yes it is the design of Steady Ping, that is exactly what it does, I think people are not aware of how the feature works exactly and so we'll be looking into better ways to educate. Glad to hear it's working well for you

3rd Party Firmware
Netduma Fraser replied to BSilverthorn's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
If you go to OpenWRT for example there is no guarantee you'd be able to get back onto DumaOS software and of course your warranty, if you have any would then be void as well. If you still have access when it happens grab the logs before a reboot and it may tell us more. -
XR1000 bridge mode
Netduma Fraser replied to bliiinq's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
I can't find much about it online but it shouldn't affect your ability to access the router, unless that router to access it you use 192.168.1.1? If so then routerlogin.net or 10.0.0.1 should allow you to access the XR - does that work? -
Speed Test and Ping Optimizer not working
Netduma Fraser replied to oculus's topic in Netduma R3 Support
As above, if you enter the values manually it should work fine and then when you do a speedtest.net test you should get the expected speeds -
Authentication server is required for online play, your ping to it doesn't matter as it does not affect your game ping as you have seen. It is simply so the game knows you're online and have the game etc.

Disable Smart Connect and connect them to 2.4GHz specifically, do they work better then?

We are looking into it so not to worry!

Netduma R3 - Primary Vs Secondary Router
Netduma Fraser replied to Chimdi's topic in Netduma R3 Support
You can do this, just connect the R3 to the Asus - if you want to prevent a double NAT/ensure you get an Open NAT then you'll need to put the R3 WAN IP in the DMZ on the Asus and then that's it! -
If you grab the logs prior to rebooting when it happens that'll help us identify the problem

R3 Inconsistent network activity

Great to hear that, thanks for the update! -
Nothing from us in this one unfortunately!

Connection drops a lot in call of duty 3!!!
Netduma Fraser replied to Maiko Cella's topic in Netduma R2 Support
I suspect they don't have a lot of servers still online so trying to restrict them even further may be preventing/kicking you from available games. If you disable the Geo-Filter does it still happen? -
Will customer support be better if I upgrade to an R3
Netduma Fraser replied to DAVE.COOPERENTLLC's topic in Gamer Talk
The topic I linked gives you all the information that is needed, the video shows you how to upgrade the router. Download https://www.dropbox.com/s/hpeb2w2m4mvmv3q/INTERMEDIARY_FIRMWARE.img?dl=0 Access the router interface Go to Settings > Administration > Firmware Update Upload the firmware file you downloaded Wait for it to complete, can take a few minutes Download https://www.dropbox.com/s/n5nk0fxkhzosvp2/XR500-V2.3.2.134-dumaos33-rc14.img?dl=0 Repeat steps 3 - 5 If step 6 doesn't allow you to upgrade for whatever reason download https://www.dropbox.com/s/mb7hztmwpxnpz2i/XR500-V2.3.2.134-dumaos33-rc10.img?dl=0 Repeat steps 3 - 5 Then complete steps 6 - 7 -
I've sent it to you via PM but would suggest staying on the latest.

R3 Stuck on bootlop first time booting
Netduma Fraser replied to DARKNESS's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Great thanks, I'll leave a message for them to do it tomorrow -
Have you added any new devices to the network or anything like that?

R3 Stuck on bootlop first time booting
Netduma Fraser replied to DARKNESS's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Log is wiped after the reboot, that's why it'll be good to get remote logging so we get the information prior to the issue happening. If you're okay with that I'll get the team to enable it. -
Use Ping Assist, see if you can get them - they may be mislocated on the map but I've not seen many people connect to those servers

What are your Congestion Control settings currently?

No we don't have that. I have 70,000 posts over 10 years which means I average around 600 posts a month. Making the last 3 months just under double what I would normally do which is expected for new hardware/software so it's actually not as much as it seems. I don't think comparing us to companies with billions in the bank and thousands of employees is a fair comparison - we're still a relatively small company. The router is tested of course by us but every connection is different, hence why we beta tested as well. However, it is not realistic to assume that there won't be issues, even Netgear who are massive will have the same. Development is very fluid, I could provide some information today that is no longer relevant tomorrow. I know your intentions are pure, you just want the best and I understand that, unfortunately issues come to light that aren't expected and we just have to figure out what is happening and get it sorted as quickly as possible which is what we're trying to do. In my opinion some of the firmware we have provided since Xmas was rushed and I'm partially to blame for that as I caved to customer pressure so we're not making that same mistake again. We'll take our time and get it right.

The Geo-Filter shows any active connections so if it isn't available at that time for whatever reason you won't see it. It could be a server used when others are under heavy load for example, try at different times of the day and see if you can get it
