Netduma R2 - Setup: Undiscoverable on network
Netduma Fraser replied to ev0c1tu5's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Glad to hear, don't want you to get stuck with it! Yes DumaOS 4 will be coming to the R2, I can't give you an ETA but it will be going into closed beta testing soon so progress is good. -
Netduma R2 - Setup: Undiscoverable on network
Netduma Fraser replied to ev0c1tu5's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Honestly I would say if you're having this trouble right from the start that it's very likely you've bought a faulty router and I would highly recommend returning it, I doubt you'll be able to recover it and they probably know that because they've tried and not been able to, hence the sale -
Using a VPN will raise your ping so you may be hitting a ping limit and potentially they're blocking known VPN IP ranges of which Nord is a popular VPN so would be one of the first

Looking great, well done!

The fact it changes from test to test like that would indicate something outside your control, what it could be specifically I couldn't guess, send them the plots and they can see for themselves and investigate

It was late on Friday when I passed it on so I'm not sure how much he will have been able to do, I'll check in with him tomorrow. -
R3 Geo-filter doesn't work for me. I need help.
Netduma Fraser replied to Serbian Gamer's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Can you provide a screenshot of the Geo-Filter page showing what you're seeing when you're getting a game outside your radius please? What game are you playing? Were any settings changed prior to the issue happening? -
can help to configurate stady ping and vpn?
Netduma Fraser replied to EtDr's topic in Netduma R3 Support
If the ping isn't moving with Steady Ping on then it is stable but that ping isn't really enough to cause you lag but if it works better for you off then leave it off for the moment - some people feel they have a better experience with it on, others off. -
Random disconnects with new firmware
Netduma Fraser replied to Achilles's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Might be the DHCP lease, if you give your devices reserved IPs then disable DHCP does it happen again? -
Does it follow any particular pattern such as off when you've died or when there is not much going on gameplay wise etc?

The modem/router from your Internet Service Provider that the R3 is connected in order to get internet. Okay so it's all working now?

can help to configurate stady ping and vpn?
Netduma Fraser replied to EtDr's topic in Netduma R3 Support
The purpose of Steady Ping is to raise your ping to ensure better stability/sync with the server, disable it if you would rather that didn't happen. Using a VPN will raise your ping, where are you from and where is the VPN server you're connecting to? -
Limiting connection speed on guest wifi/device
Netduma Fraser replied to kryptik66's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Delete entries for one and then add on the other and leave what you've decided to use as the active/viewed screen if you see what I mean - if you want to prioritize by devices it should be clicked/showing, not activities -
Given it's resolving to the same IP address in each picture and everything has stayed the same on your end this would indicate an issue with your routing/line. This could also be more to do with the time of the day with the first being late morning and second being early afternoon.
-
Yes please everyone do the above and make sure you know what changes these are making before you commit to doing so.
-
Yeah pretty much the above. By having a consistent ping you're more in sync with the server so it should play better.

NEW XR500 BETA FIRMWARE: 3.3.535
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Lew's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Okay thanks for the report, we'll need to retest it - if you add the PC with the Games Console service it should work that way -
Added, currently the public firmware is the latest, there isn't a more up to date Early Access build yet

You can but ideally you want it to be direct from the hub, as it would be a proper baseline and also throw up any potential issues with the hub itself or line, otherwise you may spend a long time trying to resolve issues with CC on the R3 that can't be solved as they're inherent to your line/hub.
-
Okay that's great that they're very similar, it's not terrible, that's your base line now. So set off some downloads, streams etc then start with a high value for Congestion Control (set to Always), say 95% then check the graph, decrease by 10%, check, decrease by 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good and then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. It's important to note that Download & Upload on Congestion Control don't have to be the same value and that you may have a better experience with differing values. So ideally you should see the above, then you'll start a download and the ping will get much higher and more spikey and you'll then be able to bring that down gradually until you find the right values that'll bring you as close to the graphs above as possible.
-
It's a lot better definitely, you'll still need to do one direct from the modem with no traffic so you can have your baseline to compare it to, then you know how much play you have in being able to increase stability
