Wifi connection to Xbox Series X
Netduma Fraser replied to FrankTheFreak's topic in Netduma R3 Support
What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g. R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode. We are aware of the delay issue but that shouldn't prevent it connecting at all. What settings on the router have you changed specifically for the console? -
You're not really going to see any improvements with reserving bandwidth unless the device was trying to use more bandwidth than it was able to get but generally SmartBOOST should be doing a good job of juggling everything so it has what it needs. With the desync, what ping are you seeing on the Geo-Filter/in game when it happens? Is the ping unstable, does it spike etc? You've port forwarded by the looks of it so UPnP doesn't need to be active to open those ports as you've already opened them.

NEW XR700 BETA FIRMWARE: 3.3.363
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Lew's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Thanks for the PM, I wouldn't be able to provide the information you asked for unfortunately. Have you factory reset since upgrading to the beta? -
Unplug the router from power for 10 minutes, plug in, then wait 4 minutes, then hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then wait 4 minutes before accessing the interface. Once you're in, I've given you Early Access so you can try this firmware for the disconnects: https://forum.netduma.com/topic/56332-r3-disconnections/?do=findComment&comment=423952

Ping Optimizer stays at 100% Doesn't test lower %

When you do a speed test on the router does that complete successfully? What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to? -
Xbox Game Pass PC Workaround Call of Duty
Netduma Fraser replied to Wr3ck3r's topic in Netduma R3 Support
As you've added your PC as a console, you just add it to the Geo-Filter and it will add with the console service, you don't then need to add any other games it will just filter any you then play (assuming the games can be filtered) -
XR500 dropping internet often.
Netduma Fraser replied to rjaaayyy's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Thank you, set a static IP on the PC with the following details IP address: 192.168.1.100 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default gateway: 192.168.1.1 DNS: 192.168.1.1 If you're not sure how to do this, you can check this guide: https://kb.netgear.com/27476/How-do-I-set-a-static-IP-address-in-Windows then try accessing 192.168.77.1 please and see if it works. -
That's not how networking works, a game using more bandwidth doesn't speed up the gameplay - what the game uses is sufficient to run the game. The ping is what you want to be as low as possible.

Glad to hear that sorted it, you're very welcome and thanks for the kind words! -
Added In theory, I wouldn't have thought so no, however some people have let us know they're seeing issues specifically when the MAC has changed itself, we're still looking into it/verifying. Added you also.

Hybrid VPN on The Netduma R3 - Current Status
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Fraser's topic in Netduma R3 Support
It is on there, uninstall the app then re-install it, do you see it then? -
The timing on the dashboard is incorrect, that will be fixed (it's not the timing not the detection) but the usage is accurate, you could use anywhere from 10 - 300MB per hour gaming, it's really not a lot. I couldn't say on the modem but could you PM me the MAC address shown on the sticker on the underside of your R3 please and I'll get the team to try something tomorrow that could help.

Problema Bufferbloat xr500
Netduma Fraser replied to Dxstro66's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
It's very unlikely you're actually getting bufferbloat then but: I'd suggest testing with downloads while following: https://bit.ly/bufferbloat-test start with a high value e.g 95%, test, decrease 10%, test, decrease 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good, then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. Important to note that Download/Upload on CC don't have to be the same value & you may have a better experience with differing values. This is more of a real world test as you're actually doing traffic you would normally do. -
No I mean there just isn't the ability to prioritize ports on SmartBOOST - having the device added is more than enough. UPnP will only open what the game has requested, if you have an open NAT then you're good, no port issues.
-
You can't prioritize ports specifically and it's not needed with the device itself being added
