Xr500 geo filter unable to add device
Netduma Fraser replied to Vipeeeer's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Put the XR WAN IP in the DMZ on your main router. Are you leaving the PS5 in an instant on/standby state the majority of the time? When it shows as offline, if you reboot the console does it then appear online correctly? -
NEW R3 FIRMWARE - DumaOS 4.0.540
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Alex's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Not entirely clear in the logs unfortunately what happened but I can pass them on. Your bufferbloat issues could well have been due to your port issues so now they're better, do you still get those same results? Also the dev made the changes within the last couple of hours and made it so they should persist with a reboot so keep us updated on how you get on with that. -
CALL OFDUTY BLACK OPS 6- UNABLE TO CONNECT TO HOST
Netduma Fraser replied to Satiros's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Doesn't make much sense, you mentioned the DMZ on the fritz, are you referring to the exposed host option on it? -
Try this: Quit the application/game/client completely Remove device from the Geo-Filter Give PC PlayStation Device Type in the Device Manager Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter Set up the Geo-Filter how you like Wait 2 minutes Boot up application/game/client Then see if it works better/shows the servers more.

We generally try to aim for around the same price point each time and have enough leeway to provide a significant initial discount to those who are wanting to upgrade from the previous gen. While I understand your point about RGB for example, it's not that much extra compared to the jump to WiFi 7 from WiFi 6. At the time when making the decision this was still fairly new, not widely adopted and quite expensive. This would have put the router out of the price bracket most of our customers are accustomed to and at the time not something that was a necessity. The RAM is enough for the router/software and this isn't really a limiting factor. We could of course put more in just for the sake of it but it's not necessarily something you'd see a huge benefit from like you would with a PC. Each aspect is thought about a lot, in terms of what the software requires, the cost, the cost vs benefit etc. All I was saying really is we're unlikely to be the ones that bring out the bleeding edge in router hardware as soon as it is available e.g. one of the first WiFi 8 routers etc. It's not to say that each iteration wouldn't be better hardware wise than the last because it would be. This could all change as well, just because it's what we have done doesn't necessarily mean it'll always follow that formula.

You can still use the R3 wifi, no need for an AP
-
Okay disable DHCP server on the router then reboot the router from the interface and check if it happens again please
-
Not sure what you mean exactly but as long as SmartBOOST is enabled that's the only thing that needs to be done to run Ping Optimizer
-
The R3 doesn't have bridge mode and you wouldn't use it in this scenario. If you put the WAN IP of the R3 in the DMZ on the main router that'll prevent a double NAT

NEW R3 FIRMWARE - DumaOS 4.0.540
Netduma Fraser replied to Netduma Alex's topic in Netduma R3 Support
The same as far as I am aware. Great to hear that! Unless they were doing work at 2am I highly doubt it haha. Exactly the same as far as I am aware so no need to update again. We're looking into PO currently. Right click the page, then go to Inspect (Element), on the window that appears click on the Network tab. Then click the checkbox to disable cache. Then click and hold the browser refresh button, and click Empty Cache and Hard Reload. Then see if it loads correctly please. Probably needed to change a few things but if you're happy on that version fair enough! As mentioned there it's primarily for SmartBOOST, not for the Geo-Filter, if it does work we will add it there. No you don't need to do anything, BI is enabled by default, it may not cover everything and I don't think we've looked into mobile much which is probably why -
Yes I would suggest doing that

Factory reset Telstra Smart Modem Gen 3
Netduma Fraser replied to TinyBubu's topic in Telstra Internet Optimiser support
I have asked them but they're out of the office now so may not hear back until Monday. They do, you're asking advice from the companies whose service you're using but not paying for and essentially asking can I do this and still keep the service I'm not paying for. So it puts me in an awkward position where I can't really give you much support on this. -
Looks like the exact same happened, can you provide a screenshot of your DHCP page please?
-
Yes that's correct, glad it's all working properly now, thanks for the update!
-
Are you testing using the test on the router itself? If so what do you get via speedtest.net? What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g. R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode
-
Great to hear that, thanks for the update!

If you put the XR in its DMZ then that shouldn't be affecting you at all as it would bypass the firewall. If their implementation isn't great then potentially it could still affect you. To test, I know you don't want to use bridge mode but perhaps for a day check it with that and see if the problem persists or disconnect all the devices from the main router/disable its WiFi to prevent devices reconnecting and then disable its firewall. The XR has its own firewall so it'll be safe to do so as long as nothing else is connected to the main router.

R3 loses ppoe connection every 24 hrs
Netduma Fraser replied to extremeborg's topic in Netduma R3 Support
It is better for disconnects so I would suggest trying it and let us know how you get on -
Join PS5, Xbox and Pc in the same lobby
Netduma Fraser replied to AimGuy's topic in Call of Duty Support
This isn't something we can assist you with as that would count as boosting -
Yes you can do that, just keep in mind QoS won't be very effective in that setup so it will just be for the Geo-Filter. You don't need a dual WAN router though unless you have 2 separate internet lines you're paying for and want to consolidate them with one router instead of two.

BRING BACK SHARING BANDWIDTH TURN OFF OPTION PLEASE!
Netduma Fraser replied to iOrcus's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Sorry for the late reply, how are you getting on with the newer firmware? -
While connected to the router via a wired Windows PC, open command prompt, type ipconfig press enter and then post a screenshot of the results here please. Are you able to access the interface on the wired PC? Reboot the modem, wait 2 minutes then reboot the R3 from the interface, wait 4 minutes and see if it works.
