UK_Wildcats_Fans 569 Report post Posted December 6, 2016 When I was researching changing modems to the CM600. I came across this article. http://blog.mycre.ws/articles/cable-modems-arris-sb6190-vs-netgear-cm600/ 2 Zennon and Alex49H reacted to this
Alex49H 844 Report post Posted December 6, 2016 To think that the TI Puma chipset was to be a savior for Arris Modems and it only made it worse. I gave up on Cable internet and moved to DSL with AT&T, probably should have tried the CM600 first before leaving.
SM961 138 Report post Posted December 6, 2016 Last month when I replaced my modem that I got from my cable company Charter I thought I was replacing it with the latest greatest future proof modem boy was I wrong, I was wondering why all of the sudden my Netduma was acting weird whenever I would do a ping test would get spikes that I even called the cable company and complained that there was something wrong with my line, what they don't know is the they giving customers a bad modem. Now that I have my old modem everything is the way is supposed to be. Thanks Zennon for the heads up. If it's not broken don't fix it. 2 Zennon and Netduma Fraser reacted to this
Zennon 4,805 Report post Posted December 6, 2016 Now if all gamers that use cable know of this they can sort out this online mess, because it is not only awful for you playing with jitter its a nightmare playing against somebody with it. Ping compensation has a hard time dealing with the massive fluctuations, especially cod. 5 Stealth_01, ColonicBoom, Netduma Fraser and 2 others reacted to this

iAmMoDBoX 1,827 Report post Posted December 7, 2016 So all docsis are affected? I'd say it's safe to assume that almost all recent Intel/Texas Instruments based modems have a problem since my SB6141 has the same exact issue 1 Alex49H reacted to this

They called their rental SB6141 as End of Life. But the retail version is still fine. End of Life just means that it's old, but it still works. I get full speeds through it without a problem. Joe 69 Report post Posted January 29, 2017 TP-Link TC-7610 working PERFECT for me. 240 down/12 up on Comcast. https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-DOCSIS-Speed-Cable-TC-7610/dp/B01CH8ZNJ0 Hey Mod, I have the same internet speed package from Comcast as you and was wondering if this modem works for ALL Comcast customers (I'm from NJ). I just got a new modem installed yesterday (ARRIS TG1682G) and it has been giving me outrageous spikes and latency/jitter. My old modem was a Technicolor tc8305c and didn't give me any spikes whatsoever. I only upgraded because it was a free upgrade on Comcast. Their tech guy is coming here tomorrow to work on my line because he saw an issue that could be causing the latency I'm getting. However, if I notice the problem continues to happen after he's done working on it, it's going to be pretty obvious that it's the modem which is causing it. If that's the case, I'd like to check out this TP-Link modem you're talking about. Do you know if this TP-Link is compatible with all Comcast customers who have 240/12 speeds?
