BO3... is it worth buying?

Howdy peeps!
It's been a while since I've been on the forums (I blame Destiny for that!).

Now that BO3 is out, I was wondering whether I could get your opinions on the game?

I wasn't that impressed with the beta but reviews that are coming in are people are either loving the game or hating it.

I'm still on the fence about buying it and I'm loving the fact that competitive multiplayer on Destiny doesn't have campers and the time to kill seems pretty fair on it (it's going to take a lot to pull me away from that game to be fair!).

The general consensus so far seems to be that BO3 is better than Ghosts and Advanced Warfare but not as good as BO2. My problem is... I loved Advanced Warfare and hated BO2!

First world problems and all that.

I loved Advanced Warfare and hated Black Ops2 as well. Personally I'm loving this game.

see a little visual lag but it doesn't affect people dying, at least for me.  Lag comp seems close to playing MW2.

Didn't care much for the beta either, but after day 1 of learning the game i'm in love with it now.  Very, very fun... actually prob the most fun i've had in about any CoD at the moment.

My friends who I play online with are all split across BO3 and Destiny at the moment.

Half of them have come back to play Destiny which has kind of put me off buying BO3...

"How was BO3 mate?", I'd say...

"It's OK, I like Destiny more", would be their reply...

Hardly encouraging!

However, I also feel like I'd be wasting my Netduma investment if I didn't buy the one game it works best on.

If it feels a little like MW2, then I'm all over it. I'm also hoping it plays and feels a little like BO1 as I loved that game.
If I buy it, it'd be the digital hardened edition (because I'm too lazy to leave my house... plus it's cheaper that buying the Nuketown exclusive from game and the season pass separately).

The more I get honest opinions from this forum, the more I'm inclined to buy it.

IGN's 9.2 seemed a little fishy but metacritic's 0/10 from users is obviously ridiculous.

All I'm really after is less lag, less bullsh*t, less campers and more fun than BO2. Is that possible?!

:)

It's got the supers like Destiny, but feels like Call of Destiny, if you want to think of it that way :D

I've seen alot of complaints on the forums, there is some lag that Treyarch needs to tweak out of their servers..  Some users seem to detest it but really doesn't seem game breaking at all to me.

I have friends that haven't played CoD in 2 years because of hit detection and they came down 2 days ago, just to try it... and left very happy ready to buy the game and play.

I think we'll get less lag once the servers are tweaked.  I know Vonderhaar was playing this weekend to see how it was from our perspective than getting back to fixing stuff today... as for campers..  keep wishing. lol

Lots of campers at the moment due to KD whores not knowing the map, good maps connection is good with the duma, but as someone said still wtf moments but you get them in destiny too

took a bit of getting used too as i havent played cod since ghosts but now i am back into the swing of it

It's fun but takes alot getting use too.  There are issues but there are with all of the COD's.  Hit detection sucks but currently I mostly play core in BO3.  I usually play hardcore but BO3 does not have a HCKC.  I really honestly think alot of the issues in game has to do with the proper setup. This comes with playing the game and learning what works.  Trust me the more you play it the better you will be (i.e. map knowledge, weapons, setup etc)  The wrong setup = you with get owned every time. Find the the right setup that complements each other (specialist/weapon/perks) and if you do this, I promise you, you will go positive almost every time.  To answer your question I have a Xbox One and did not purchase AW.  I sold my 360 so my only option for COD is Ghost so for me yes it is worth buying.  It's challenging but I'm in for the long haul.

Agree with what has already been said.  At first I thought is the best thing since sliced bread and when you compare it to AW it runs like a dream but hit detection is a bit rubbish and don't even play ground war! A total knightmre.  I'm enjoying it because it is different but they still have lots of tweeks to do.  Zombies is brilliant and to me almost makes up for the issues on multiplayer and the campaign is very good.

This game is in its early days and with a few tweeks can get better and the servers settle as they seem to be a bit all over the place at the moment.

As for whether you should buy it, I think you should wait a little to see if the niggles are sorted.  It seems you have enough mates playing Destiny so I'd stick with that for the time being and perhaps have a look in a month or so...  you could be an Xmas noob!! :P

Hello there.

My experience with this game is as follows:

The connection for me its amazing could not ask for more( Yes I do get the WTF moments but they are just moments) The map design and the spawns are so easy to adjust that you can predict spawn in FFA witch was very difficult for me.

I have like 10h in game time. To be honest with you I have like 1.97 KD my accuracy stats on weapons have never been better(this is by far my best start of any COD title I play only FFA games and my win los ration is like 7.6 i think) already have found some guns that I love etc. How ever there is something wired about this game I don't know what it is but the games feels very heavy for me like very stiff and heavy in terms of aiming moving around(not the new movement mechanics) I find it very hard to adapt to its it seems like the whole manoeuvring and aiming mechanic took some strange turn. It does not fell fluid at all for me. That is the only complaint I have just can get use to it.

Got into this game straight away, feels very familiar but fresh too, loving the underwater kills, feel like James Bond :)

I've always liked the blops series the best and this one does it for me, if you liked the others then go for it

Thats strange lukasz I find the movement to be very fast and aiming to be really fast too.

Using a elite pad with the small sticks with one CQC kontrol freek on the right stick and 8 sensitivity.

I didnt mean to sound like there is something wrong whit the game at all. Because its my side of the things. I am always on sens 4 but in this game I may have to adjust that. Thats what i meant it fells heavy to me nothing wrong with the game. will play around with higher turning sens as now the gave you option. On 8 sens I would not be able to saty on target at all. My thumb was not made for fine adjustments its moving very stiffly and strongly if you know what I mean buddy.

Well on AW it was great though transition to 4 sens on BO3 feel  very heavy will have to experiment with different sens just the higher I go on sens the more my aim suffers...lol
