@Netduma Alex With this update I've noticed that the router no longer recognizes the computers system name. For example my computer is named Jamie-PC and in device manager the router knew and automatically named me on the router as Jamie-PC. But now with this latest firmware it names everyone as Microsoft Windows Computer and I need to manually rename everyone myself.

Additionally, there are less device manager icon options to select for each device on the network now.

There is no longer a inique icon for Wi-Fi extenders like in the past. Not a major issue but strange to remove options that were available before.

This is actually an intentional change. For most users, we thought that the hostname wouldn't be useful. For example the default hostname for a Windows PC is usually DESKTOP-XXXXXXX, where XXXXXXX is a random series of characters. In this scenario, the name "Microsoft Windows Computer" might be more useful.

However I can see that for users who customise their hostnames, or for users with lots of the same type of device, this change is actually a step backwards.

Perhaps we could add a toggle to display hostnames instead, or perhaps we could put the hostname in brackets after the assigned name? I'll discuss it with the frontend guys.

Due to the Device Manager overhaul, some of the device/icon mappings were broken. If for example we update the name of a device type from the cloud, it might no longer link to the correct icon, which I think is what happened in this case. I will talk to the frontend team and make sure we get non-generic icons for everything.

Hey, quick question before I sign up with a new ISP. They're giving me a dedicated fiber line with a static IP on a /31 (mask 255.255.255.254). Their ONT will be in bridge mode going straight into the R3, no PPPoE.

Does the R3, with this new firmware DumaOS 4.0.1510, accept a /31 subnet mask in the WAN static IP settings?

Thanks!

Just a heads up.

The Mac Address Cloning area under Advanced WAN Details is constantly trying to load/buffer the address. This is on all Internet browsers and on the app.

I am also unable to enter and save any DNS Override or MTU settings as pressing the save button doesn’t save your inputs. This is likely because the Mac Address Cloning area is still trying to load. This also happens on all browsers and the app too.

Thanks.

So we can use this update now?

My update button in the Duma is greyed out

Yes you can use it - download it and upload it to the router manually instead

We're aware of that saving issue, that will be fixed

After redialling in CC — BO7 + BF6 feels rather smooth 😇, yay!

Great to hear and thanks for the kind words!

If you plug a laptop, pc or like an Xbox series into router via Ethernet can you open up router admin page at 192.168.77.1 on said device?

Does your internet provider use PPPoE or DCHP/IPoE? Is the R3 on an FTTP connection directly plug into an Ont or are you using upstream (DMZ)?

I would suggest turning R3 off, there’s a power  button at the back, then unplug it at the socket wait two mins, plug it back and turn R3 back on. If you have an ONT maybe turn that off as well. Turn ONT back on first, then when that’s power on with green lights/connection up status, turn R3 back on.

If that fails you could factory reset the R3 via the pinhole.

I already reset the device via the pinhole. Still not working. I use a Pc and I can't open up router admin page too. My provider use DHCP/IPoE. No Ont, no DMZ.

So I can update from the v.4.0.645 that I already have?

So what kind of internet do you have Coaxial, FTTC? Is there a device upstream like a modem or isp router that bridges your R3 to your internet? Have ensure the cable going into Wan Port isn’t loose or damaged/faulty?

When you pinhole reset how long did you hold it in for? I think it took us 20-30 seconds.

  1. It's a Swisscom FTTP fiber connection. The R3 was connected downstream via a Swisscom Internet Box, since the R3 cannot handle Swisscom's VLAN 10 directly on the WAN port.

  2. The cable and ports are completely fine, verified with other devices.

  3. For the pinhole reset, I held it in for over 30 seconds multiple times.

As mentioned, the unit is completely bricked: the power LED just blinks indefinitely, there is zero RGB lighting, the Swisscom box detects it as offline/powered off, and it doesn't respond to any reset or recovery mode. It ran fine for 2 years and suddenly died.

What do you see exactly when trying to access the interface?

You can't see any servers on the map at all? Double check the IP on the gaming device itself matches with the IP of the device you think it is on the device manager.

I absolutely cannot boot my NetDuma, it is in a bootloop and I can't even connect anything with it. Everything was fine for 2 years, I used it almost everyday.

Yes, I can see the servers, but they won't connect to them. It doesn't even show me the server ping, and they load forever. Could it be the app that needs updating? I use tablets and smartphones to connect.

How are you certain it's in a bootloop? What do you see when trying to access?

The app does need to be updated to make use of this latest update but if you use a web browser that shouldn't affect it. Is it that they're not connecting i.e you're not getting into a game or they're not pinging as those are separate issues. If you can't get in then you may be forcing a server which isn't always available. Some games refuse to respond to pings so we're not always able to show the ping to you.

Can you tell me where to download the latest app? I mainly use my tablet to connect.

I have already downloaded the new firmware, and it is smoother than the previous one and the servers load immediately but I can't connect to them, in the previous firmware everything was slower but I could connect

I am certain it's in a bootloop because the power LED blinks continuously (once every couple of seconds), there is zero RGB lighting, and the device is completely unresponsive. When trying to access the router via its IP or web interface, the page fails to load or connect entirely, even though my PC physically detects the Ethernet cable connection. Furthermore, my ISP router (Swisscom Box) lists it as offline/powered off.
