Guest Netduma_Iain Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Hi guys, So one of the features in the new version is it will automatically diagnose your connection from a ping point of view. We may do bandwidth later but right now everyone cares about ping. Anyway for each metric we have 5 categories. Can you help us choose the words for the category. The 5 categories are essentially: Amazing Good Ok Bad Terrible But we could have synonyms if you liked e.g.: Beast Mode / Too legit to quit Solid / Naaaice Standard / Normal Bad / Lousy Lag central / oh dear Look forward to your responses

Guest Netduma Luke Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Luke setting up a WiiU *runs You're fired
Adam Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 You're fired you'll have to fire Iain too because i bet he laughed at that because IT'S TRUE
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Ok this is why I love feedback, crystal clear guys. I guess the humour of 90s game difficulty selection doesn't apply to routers

However, I would recommend two changes in the first set if you are looking to change. 1) Amazing ---> Exceptional 5) Terrible ---> Inferior But whatever you use, we will follow!

Buds Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 First option is good imo, nice and simple. Or: Prophet of Doom Batting above their average 1.0 KD Should of stayed at home Carrier pigeon
Akic Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 +1 for first one, sounds more professional, but exceptional will always be beast mode in my head
Elikenui Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 first one. we'll still see the actual ping number though, right?
AOrtiz Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 #1 Seems good to me. Or can we set it it up to customize what we want like out devices... Just saying
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Yes details will be there if you want to expand
EffinFancy Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I would like british-ish type of language being used.
abc123 Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 1/1 for me, but i'm on the east coast of the US and this seems to matter.
Od1n Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 i like none as they are just words, they would be more appropriate if a ping number is behind the word like Amazing (<50ms) Good (<75ms) Ok (<100ms) Bad (<125ms) Terrible (>125ms) its the same reason for why people hate console ping indications like in CoD with its bars, they pretty much dont give you any valuable feedback at all therefore i think its wrong to just give a word indication
Dirty Dog Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I'd prefer nothing be generalised and we stick with the numbers tbh.
PharmDawgg Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Here some suggestions: 1 Wicked 2 F.A.T. 3 Alright 4 Noobs R Us 5 U Suck
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Its too keep it simple, you still have a details button that just shows you the trace/ping values.
Od1n Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Its too keep it simple, you still have a details button that just shows you the trace/ping values. then maybe let us choose our own boundaries for each word, i mean just reading "Amazing" could as well mean <100ms while my interpretation of that word would be <50ms
