JoyKiller
@Netduma Fraser Some feedback on 4.0.23, relative to my knowledge and use It is important to note, that I am on Starlink so my speeds and latency is a bit of a moving target, however, there is a pattern that I am used to seeing and with 4.0.20 I was getting some in game latency swings of 30-50ms, as well as not being able to achieve over 60-90 mb/s download and 5-10 mb/s upload. I was also somewhat uncertain if my Geofilter settings were functioning, since I have a relatively constrained fence but I was still joining servers in the 200+ ping range. It has been stormy lately, so I couldn't be absolutely certain there werent environmental factors contributing to what i was seeing. With 4.0.23, my upload/download is at 25/200, my in game latency vascelates between 10ms up/down (a total 20ms swing) which is 100% normal and acceptable for me. I can also tell that I am only connecting to servers within my Geofence based upon the ping I am getting. It would also seem that Ping Optimiser is operating much more consistently as well. All in all (from my point of view), 4.0.23 is performing really well. The only thing I would ask is that in the near future if Duma can run fiber up to my house, you know... for proper testing Thank you for giving me the opportunity to try this out, it has helped smooth out a few concerns I was starting to have. osu2214
I haven't noticed any difference between .20 and .23, if anything it has taken longer to get into cod games. Expanded range and has been fine for search times but I'm rarely getting my closest server. My speed test function still does not work at all on the dashboard. Ping optimizer function also still does not run at all. Have asked a bunch for some help with this so I guess there is no fix?? Feel like so many functions just don't work on this router and just read inactive but might be working or might not. Games still run ok at least so maybe the ping stabilizer helps even though my ping never really fluctuated much before with my fiber. Wifi test speeds remain atrocious less than 100 mbps up/down with wifi so glad I don't use this router for that otherwise it wouldn't be usable. Try this: Disable GeoLatency Disable PingAssist (set it to 0,0) Enable Strict Mode Disable Fast Search Then restart game or wait 10 minutes (in the lobby in the game). If that doesn't work, reboot PC/Console and it should work then. We are aware Ping Optimizer/Speed Test isn't 100% reliable at the moment and it's something the team will work on when they're back from the holidays. Those features can still work, it just may not be every time. I'll be responding to all topics, there has been a delay due to the holidays and just me working. For WiFi: Split the bands, give 2.4/5GHz different names and apply - you'll want to connect to 5GHz specifically for speeds Use a WiFi analyzer to find the least congested channel and change to that Experiment with the widths to see what gives better results Ensure it's in an elevated position - not on a metal surface Ensure there aren't any electrical / wireless devices e.g headphones etc within close proximity ~3 feet if possible Set the antennae to this position _ | | _ 1 hour ago, DanLucey22 said: How do I get access to this firmware version? Are you setting it up prior to launching the game? Is it showing stabilized - if not then it won't be applying the extra ping I mean exactly what I said. Even when setting up prior to launching the game it doesn't function or work correctly. I have yet to see it stabilize with Frostbite games like Battlefront or Battlefield and no major fluctuations to indicate why it is never able to. My guess was you guys are writing off PC players again especially when this version of DumaOS doesn't let us tell it to consider PCs as a console device. Your wrong in this case, it isn't able to stabilize and it still adds around 10 ms of ping. The only way to stop it from doing so is to manually disable Steady Ping. Oh and even when playing a game not supported by Steady Ping it still adds to your ping which raises even more questions.

In fact, I have it right now like this and honestly, when steady ping worked best for me, it was when I left it on the computer or putting the PC as a PlayStation, it also worked well for me. Currently using a PC as a game console is the worst results I have achieved, but it may work for you, try it.

I presume disabling SmartQOS as well because only the PC is connected to the router with absolutely no other devices. Thanks in advance. Same setting as mine. Just diable smartboost when your pc is the only device in netduma. make sure to minimize network traffic from other traffic as well ie. chrome, discord, etc satinghostrider
GRAAM
@Netduma Fraser / @Netduma Admin After testing, I've found IPv6 must be disabled in advanced LAN AND WAN settings in order to de-activate Steady Ping *Note for anyone that does this, you'll need to reboot the router afterwards so the router can re-configure DHCP* I've also seen on another thread congestion control/QoS doesn't work unless IPv6 is fully disabled in both WAN/LAN settings too. I'm using the beta firmware 4.0.23. I have split up 2.4/5GHz bands and I'm using 5GHZ only for wireless devices. AsNCo and PharmDawgg 1
