iAmMoDBoX
Trying to figure how to lower base ping. Mine is about 90ms. What options could I do to fix it? If it's not a line issue causing high ping then the only other option is a different ISP/service.
Soloflyerz
Trying to figure how to lower base ping. Mine is about 90ms. What options could I do to fix it? Adjusting my sliders as well as preemptive and reactive algo seem to affect mine quite a bit. That said my best possible is next to nothing, but far from what’s ideal for cod right now. I just kept playing with them and dslreports last night to fine tune things a bit.

Zennon
That is not your base ping. I have seen you say that you ping to a game server at 20ms in another thread, you are quoting the Netduma diagnostics which is pinging a Google server that is far from you. Soloflyerz
Optic fibre better than dsl I assume? I’d think so, at least mine improved most times since I switched last year. To be honest though overall I’ve not noticed much difference gameplay wise. The lag comp or code that seems to be an issue in ww2 right now seems to do its job on that front at least I guess. My stats on dslr change drastically with even slight changes to the sliders though. Until I tested a bunch I actually was having worse games on my fiber line, definitely changes your settings, but with as little bandwidth as games use it doesn’t seem make a huge difference. Best thing about the fiber so far has been no worries about nightly congestion or outages this far, could be different isp though. I actually get what I pay for all the time now. More bandwidth but not necessarily better gaming. Virgin Media Vivid 300 Fibre Optic anyone? I had it and I couldn't play because of the terrible lag. I'm sure you're misreading something, I can't believe you have a base of 90ms unless you live way waaaaaay out, somewhere like the Arctic Circle. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 29, 2017 Administrators Share Posted November 29, 2017 Agree with the others so far, if you had a base ping at a minimum of 90ms you probably wouldn't bother gaming at all when you add in distance to server and local congestion. ColonicBoom
I've never heard of 'v-speed.eu' but the '.EU' is a bit of a giveaway as to where their default servers might be based. The 'speed test' part of their website is written in Polish too. Did you change the default server on the app or just leave it so it pings Warsaw? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 30, 2017 Administrators Share Posted November 30, 2017 As well as what Boom said which would definitely create a high ping, it appears you also did the test wirelessly, on a phone rather than a wired speed test from a PC. kizvandutch
Pc tests say that high ping too. Maybe it’s the testing site. Any other site I get 30ms pibg
ColonicBoom
Maybe it’s the testing site. Any other site I get 30ms If only one testing site gave me a high ping and any other returned 'normal' looking results, I would stop using that one site rather than assume that was the accurate result. Any other site I get 30ms pibg I agree with Boom above - use a different site. Preferably just use a tool like PingPlotter when you want accurate results. kizvandutch
Yeah that site seems a bit inconsistent. Ping isn’t my problem probably is my line of connection from my isp.
kizvandutch
Ping plotter still crashes on my iMac maybe it’s my computer that causes this.
Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted March 27, 2018 Netduma Staff Share Posted March 27, 2018 Ping plotter still crashes on my iMac maybe it’s my computer that causes this. Maybe so yeh. I'd reiterate what was said before though - you got a 30ms base ping on another site so it's definitely a site related issue. Foreign or untrustworthy sites will often give you worse base-ping results.
