Lag Compensation Problems? (not sure what this is tbh)

Recommended Posts

Yeah okay troll. Too bad I do it on the daily. Go troll some one else! Thanks !

You gonna post 12+ hours of pingplotter graphs as screenshots? No. If you read what I asked for a few posts back I told him to post the .pp2 file and ColonicBoom explained to him how to do it. So once again, you completely derail someone's thread and offer no help to a situation by telling someone to do the opposite of what was asked of them.

Crap, ok. I'll try it again tonight for at least more than 16 hours and see where it goes

If you want I can get on teamviewer real quick and make sure it's setup right. Also a 10 minute test will give me a good idea of what's going on. PM me the ID and password if you want, I'll be around for 10 minutes or so after this post.

Derailing? Hardly! thought he just wanted to post a screen shot. My bad for misunderstanding and for trying to help...

Atleast i can admit when i made a mistake, some people around here that can't and think they are the know it all at networking.

XSXS, he did say a few posts back that he didn't want a screenshot. he said he wanted access to the whole graph through PingPlotter itself. If you're going to say that someone is incorrect about something, be a bit more professional instead of calling him a troll or any other insult probably going through your mind, please. Thanks :)

Here is the new one. in my opinion, I think like it's been said a long time ago from someone else, possibly Colonic or another forum member, 10 minutes isn't going to be good enough as 10 minutes isn't long enough to see what really goes on throughout the day. I did 6 hours for you and from this graph, its pretty crazy s***. So you should definitely look at this. I live in New Jersey, so my time here as of right now is 6:30 in the morning. If you want to try any of this later, it might have to be after 7-8 at night. Would that be ok?

Yeah... So you have some serious line issues lol

Your options are A) have a tech from your ISP come and try to fix it B) Switch to Verizon Fios lol

1) Can't switch to fios because I don't think we have that here, but we do have another provider I believe. 2) I can do that, but that's going to be a nightmare.

I'll see what I can do. Is there anything else I can do in the mean time? or not until I do one of those two things?

Nah I mean with that much jitter and packet loss it's pretty safe to say it's your line causing you problems lol

Yeah i know that now, just read the latest post and should have read more posts. My apologies for giving you the wrong advice.

I've had lots of issues with being lag comp in the past, but after some fine tuning, tweaking, I was able to find my sweet spot, its been very consistent for the past few weeks! Hit detection is on par, almost similar to A7Legit and nfxcrew

Good work brother, it can be achieved and you did it! :)

What fine tweaking are your guys doing? I don't see much you can do besides the basics? 70/70 cc, hyper traffic, etc?

Hey guys, sorry for the late response. It looks like every time I try to upload the photo, the forum freezes and I have to close out. But here's the story.  ModBox, the quality for that is atrocious. If you could see it for yourself, you'd probably s*** yourself... Sadly I can't get the photo on here because the forum keeps freezing, but it's really bad. Packet loss is the same, red lines everywhere, jitter is up and down all around, it's bad. Does this mean that the line quality is caused by the modem, or is there something else that's going on here?

All that can be achieved by using DSLReports, which isn't highly recommended anymore for whatever reason. But you can use DSLReports to mess around with the CC controls, and as you mess around with it, you want to try and get A+ on both bufferbloat and quality. Just move the sliders around, you'll find something :) ask A7 for advice on that, he'd be able to tell you how to effectively use the sliders to your advantage in finding that perfect sweet spot for A+ everything for perfect gameplay!

Doing this has change infinite warfare for me

Depending on where you live

Place Geofilter home over your nearest server

Distance set to 100-150 miles

Strict on

Get bufferbloat as best you can http://www.dslreports.com

You may struggle to find games at first

But it's worth the wait.

I have found doing this the ping are much more balanced

Let me know how it goes

Monzo if you are trying to upload a PingPlotter sample set then you could use dropbox or wetransfer as the file may be to big for the forum.

Re : Bufferbloat....

Your line or modem has to be of a good standard to start with to get a good bufferbloat when you give the line headroom with congestion control.

If your line is congested with other users then using congestion control will stop the other data packets from causing saturation/bufferbloat.

If your line only has gaming packets in/out then congestion control will not make your hit detection better or worse per % that is not how headroom works.

Its stops local congestion so if there is somebody downloading at full speed it will keep pings low. as there is headroom so your line does not saturate.

Hyper traffic enabled device packets will leave/return before other network traffic by dropping the other packets and your gaming packets will leave/return.

By using CC and hyperlane your gaming experience on a busy network will play as if you are the sole user, It will not though give you an advantage, better hit detection etc

Zennon, I don't think this is the case, as I've done a test on pingplotter for a server test given to me by ModBox and I did a modem test. Both were garbage with one being worse than the other. So I think the modem is causing a line problem. But I don't know that for a fact yet. So use Dropbox to get the photo on here?

Well...

1- Why are you believing YouTubers for any product you are buying? They are financially invested in selling something to you, as an affiliate. Do you really think they're going to say something is bad when they're being paid to promote it?

2- The Netduma is sold on the idea of stopping lag. It does just that, provided you have a half a brain to set it up.

3- Back to my brain comment, it is as plug and play as you can get. You plug it in, type in your bandwidth, and the router sets itself up for you. What more do you need?

Sorry were did I say I believe any youtubers?! I was stating that the thing is mis-sold by them. As they dont explain how to set it up, thats its different to each person connection and router set up.

So next time you comment use your brain and realise the R1 doesnt always stop lag at all as there are videos by tech companies proving this to be untrue as each game is set up differently and yes the R1 needs to be adjusted for all games, which to the casual user who see's it being sold as 'Dominate Lag' thinks this is what it does, yet it only does this at times if you set it up right. The R1 was mainly to stop lag in COD which again is 50/50.

Also its not plug and play as you do have to adjust things everytime you play on any game to get the best settings, as its not like it sets it all for you on the fly as you play.
