Netduma upgrade (v 1.03.6j - Original Firmware)

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys

Instead, comment here saying you are on an older version than 1.03.5 and have remote support ticked (found in >settings >miscellaneous) and that you want to upgrade. We will then access your router and change settings so you can download the upgrade safely. Once we have told you it is safe to upgrade DO NOT REBOOT BEFORE UPGRADING.

I'm on 1.03.3, would love to get the update.

Cheers.

I sent you a message.  Its easier for me to reply to messages then on the FORUM at the moment due to me being at work.  Also best way to upgrade from 1.03.3 is to go one upgrade at a time.  Upgrade to 1.03.4 first and then to 1.03.5 and then to 1.03.6.  I did that from software version 1.03.4 to .1.03.5 to 1.03.6 and it worked flawlessly.  Let me know and good luck!

Thank You

Markwerline i will tell you what i just did to update my router from 1.03.4 to 1.03.6.  You will have an additional step to take because you were one software below me which what you have is or was 1.03.3.  Now before i tell you the steps i took i had no idea any updates were available in the forums.  I only checked their website www.netduma.com/upgrade and it only shows 1.03.4 which i already have.  Clearly i was behind!  I'm a bit disappointed about that lack of very important information but i'll give them a pass they're really good with their support etc.  Before you can upgrade your router to 1.03.6 you have to upgraded to 1.03.4 then to 1.03.5 and then to 1.03.6. I was going to provide you with the links but i couldn't find the link for upgrade patch 1.03.4.  You will have to contact them most likely.  Per their instructions if your lower than 1.03.5 DO NOT UPGRADE TO 1.03.6 without CONTACTING THEM.  Take care and good luck!

NOTE: The UPGRADE *button* only works when you download the file and attach under the upgrade option.  You can't click UPGRADE and have it Automatically UPGRADE.

I was able to find 1.03.4 in the revision tabs on the manual update page but could not find 1.03.5.

So I'm now a 1.03.4

EDIT:

Found 1.03.5m and now I'm all upgraded to 1.03.6g, Thanks thegaurdian1 for getting me started.

How do i go about upgrading? I'm on version 1.03.4 at the min, my remote access is also ticked. Thanks Craig

We could not access your router. Please make sure the R1 is in the DMZ of your ISP hub and that remote support is definitely enabled.

Ok I sent you the IP in PM, Looks like I didn't disable geofilter. These instructions http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=how_do_i_open_my_nat were very helpful. I would advise others to check the page on opening NAT prior to asking for upgrade to help the Netduma guys out.

you guys can use http://canyouseeme.org open port check tool to verify as well.

We could not access your router. Have you made sure the R1 is in the DMZ of your ISP hub and that remote support is definitely enabled?

hey fraser try it again.  If you cant access this time. Im not sure what to do.  I disabled the firewall on the router.

We could not access your router. On your ISP hub can you first remove R1 from the DMZ if its in there along with any port forwarding rules then forward ports 1024-60,000 tcp to the R1 please.

double checked the above, can you try again?

Thanks in advance

You're good to go. Please do not reboot before upgrading.

I'm on version 1.03.3 and I have the remote support ticked and I want to upgrade.

You're good to go. Please do not reboot before upgrading.

We tried to access your router to fix the issue but couldn't access it. Can you ensure remote support is enabled with R1 in the DMZ of your ISP hub please.

We definitely don't recommend doing this. If it was the best option we would have suggested that so we don't have to access routers individually.

Thanks, I was able to install the update. After signing the agreement, only some of the portions of the Netduma control panel are loading. The following do not load for me: Host Filtering, Congestion Control, VPN, Profiles (gives the error "Error loading profiles page. Please post issue at forum.netduma.com"), Device Manager, and Settings -> Misc.

Any tips for remedying this problem?

Do you have internet through the duma?

Can you make sure you're accessing the router through Chrome/Firefox as well.

You are very welcome i'm just glad it all worked!  I think its easier the way you and i upgraded just because we don't have to wait if NetDuma Techs are busy.

Yes I have internet through the duma. I am using the latest stable version of Chrome. I have Comcast as a provider, so my internet comes in off of the street into their modem and is piped into the duma, which is hardwired into a Windows 10 PC. The duma is still creating a wireless network to which my devices are able to connect.

sorry frazier but i do not understand how to do the technical stuff you stated.

Go to your ISP hubs interface ( you may need to search on Google the model you're using on how to access it, you may be able to get to it by clicking the blue box on device manager if it is there). Then go to DMZ which should be in security settings/maybe firewall - depends on the model. If you didn't set up the DMZ before put the wan IP from the device manager into the DMZ. If you did put it there remove it. Then find port forwarding settings. Port forward 1024-60,000 tcp to the NETDUMA wan IP.

Again wouldn't recommend people do this.

Your issue should now be resolved, please check to see if this is the case.

Hi,

I would like to upgrade, currently: 1.03.3

Remote support was already ticked, what's next?

@Fraser: why would you not recommend people upgrade 1 software version at a time? Worked for me and couple of others. I'm asking for my own learning.

I believe because once on .5/.6 you cannot brick the router by upgrading. Earlier versions than this there is the very slight chance. So by us checking your router before upgrading we can make sure that doesn't happen.
