Miiiithraaks got a reaction from Shadow in Geo-Filter Not Working for The Finals
Reporting back after testing. Looks like The Finals Traffic is still categorized as Hi-Rez Games.

Miiiithraaks got a reaction from Shadow in Geo-Filter Not Working for The Finals
I'm seeing The Finals traffic shows up as Hi-Rez games traffic... It appears to work in go-filter and smartboost when I add Hi-Rez games. No one in the house plays any Hi-Rez games and that specific traffic is only active when playing The Finals.

Miiiithraaks reacted to Newfoundland in Manageable switch behind the R3.
Differentiated Services Code Point, in basic terms it adds a header for the purpose of queuing within a QoS algorithm. Having 2 QoS types working together can or could create issues on how the defined QoS works throughout the network.

For information :
If you are using a managed switch behind the R3, I advise you to put the QoS mode in DSCP on the switch and let SmartBoost manage the QoS.
Priority per port on a switch has a duplicative effect and is subject to erroneous results! 😉

Thanks for the replies guys!
It was as you say, as an offline device so added it to DHCP and now works perfectly.

Miiiithraaks got a reaction from Pro Innocence in R3 - S8000 switch - PS5
I have my PS5 beind a Nighthawk SX10 switch which I think is very similar to the S8000. My PS5 showed up in device manager as unknown and I just named it PS5 myself as Fraser mentions. Everything works normally there.
Fuzy is also correct in that the switch is in offline devices normally. I gave it name, a dhcp reservation, and manually set the ip. Works great.

Thanks for the report, I think we did do a DPI update so could you resync the cloud on SmartBOOST and see if that is still the case? If so then I'll pass it on to be corrected.

Miiiithraaks reacted to Stilts29 in NEW R3 FIRMWARE 4.0.40
Hi @Hotchin88,
Although the forums may not reflect it, there are a lot of satisfied owners, myself included.
Yes there are some issues which some users are facing which are important to them but they will get fixed.
For gaming, and lets face it that's what we got the R3 for wasn't it, the experience is awesome now. When it arrives, put release .40 on it, do a factory reset and configure it as you like it. Then try some games out, I'm sure you will like it. If not you have the option to return.

People with problems will report these problems, people without problems have no need to do that, this might be the reason why it looks like it is a total mess.
Because of your post I will share my experiences with this router so far. The router was already running "good enough" for me on the last firmware, I had to change a couple of things in the settings. I installed this new firmware this morning, reset everything to factory default. So far everything runs smoothly without changing anything. I did disable WiFi, but that is because I have my accespoints throughout the house.
I was never tempted to switch back to my old (R2) router because the troubles I had were manageable. I'm not saying the people complaining in here have no reason to do this. Clearly there are problems for them! With this post I just want to make clear that there are people happy with the hardware and software, And I'm sure future updates will only make this a better product!
Before this update my Xbox showed NAT as moderate. After de update it shows OPEN!
I'm happy with this router, but I knew I was jumping on the train early. I know that with early releases there will always be unwanted bugs. This team seems to be on top of this and are working hard to tackle these bugs.

Miiiithraaks reacted to TG3NOC1D3 in So where’s the update then?
Yes, I am dead serious. The router works, majority of people who are having issues I truthfully don't believe them. It's all complaints and zero attempts to actually troubleshoot with the team. That is a massive them problem, not a Netduma one. Half of you are using equipment from ISP's that you don't understand how to properly bypass and send the IP and turn off routing on the ISP unit. Being impatient and demanding new firmware when the one they wanted to release would potentially harm the routers? That is funny to me, probably because you'd then have to ship it back for a replacement unit and be out a router in the mean time.

Miiiithraaks reacted to TG3NOC1D3 in News about the new firmware update
As you can see, at the beginning of the week we were told it was coming this week. Stop making new topics asking when, it is just cluttering the feed. Feel free to use this as the official update thread so we don't have more getting created, or don't and cause info to keep getting buried, Idc. Just trying to help avoid rumors about ad blocker breaking the new firmware and other wild accusations.

Miiiithraaks reacted to TG3NOC1D3 in So where’s the update then?
Dude tell me about it, they caught a pretty serious issue and people are mad? They would have been screaming in here about "Netduma broke my router! I demand a fix today!" I'm happy to wait, the router has some small bugs but they aren't always there and I have had no uptime issues. Some of these people need to learn patience, they weren't here during the old days when firmware releases were few and far between lol. I'd rather have a polished firmware than a half arsed build that requires even more work because it introduced bigger issues.

Yes SMA Male to RP-SMA Female. Approximately 5 to 10 feet. Increased transmit link speed on pixel 8 pro in bedroom furthest from router from 200 mbps to 600 mbps.

Miiiithraaks reacted to Newfoundland in Not seeing a big difference in Wifi strength
When you change to a higher gain the pattern changes and you end up with a more directional pattern. That might not be the answer to your issues as coverage might not be perfect. It could be a number of reasons why coverage is effected from transmit power to hardware.
You might be better off with an AP that offers better coverage and more streams which will help with WiFi but I’m not sure how well Duma acts with an AP, not this version anyway.
if you have a spare router that offers AP mode it’s worth a try. The R3 is a 2x2 on both so it’s a single 2x2 client on each channel. Most middle end APs offer 4x4 and you might be able to find the odd one with 8x8 but that might have to be something like the RAX120 ran in AP mode.

That's great to hear, they will have gone home now so I will double check this has been done!

Holy smokes it looks like this has been corrected already.

Thank you for the report, I'll have the team take a look at that and get it corrected.

Yea that's it exactly! Ignoring it maybe or show uncategorized or anything really is what I was thinking and asking. If even possible that is. Doesn't need to be categorized as work from home specifically or anything like that. Sorry if saying that made it confusing.

Miiiithraaks reacted to DARKNESS in Citrix Secure Access being categorized as gaming rather than work from home.
@MiiiithraaksNever mind misread though it could be added I doubt it'll ever be perfect therefore it pointless do to it being encrypted as it would just cause misclassifications/more false positives on the DPI...

Miiiithraaks got a reaction from Newfoundland in Citrix Secure Access being categorized as gaming rather than work from home.
Yea guys I get much of how citrix and dpi all work under the hood so I guess I wasn't asking about why it's happening so much. And I also am aware dpi is not totally accurate. I know the encrypted traffic can't be inspected and it's best guessing. Which is why I bring this up lol. I was throwing out my observation and asking if there was a way to add it to the "library" you mention. Call it a feature request I guess? But like I said, it's not really an issue so if it can't it can't. No biggie. Thanks guys!

Miiiithraaks got a reaction from slugg in My XR1000 issues seems resolved for me after using the nmrpflash tool and flashing the firmware.
No, I don't think it's necessary to perform an additional factory reset after as this procedure is basically factory resetting already. I believe running through the procedure this way just bypasses the boot process. Which does seem to have helped clear up some issues for myself.
