@Munz01 I would factory reset first to see if it just software conflicting with older firmware to do so Go to Settings>Troubleshooting>Factory Reset If you want to downgrade you need to download the file then upload it on to the R3 Go to Settings>Troubleshooting>Upload Firmware>Update There a clip if you want to see an example https://jam.dev/c/fb6f5e60-ec55-4e39-800e-a06484be5a32

@JimmyPCould be the fact your using a channel that's congested therefore there would be slower speeds depending on interference to optimize channels use an app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=abdelrahman.wifianalyzerpro&hl=en_US to find the optimal channel also check for your local area channels allowed since if your using channels that your not supposed to then you could get into legal trouble.

@Gil Are you on the latest build? https://forum.netduma.com/topic/56107-new-r3-firmware-40236/ Did you try switching lan cables just to check if it just faulty?

@bcoe30 If you can find fiber then go fiber but if you only got coax then go with the fastest and most reasonable price...looking at that plan there's just trying to steal from you at that point 50mbs for fiber at 70 bucks they wilding? To add it seems the fiber from AT&T 50/10 - it's actually VDSL so essentially it is what you call fake fiber you can dig a little deeper but I think that tell's you more than you need to know...just my opinion you can do your own research.

@CautionThat's based on a cycle and how many devices are connected to the network at time though it will stick around 1-10% typically and that depends if your running certain applications which take more memory/ram etc. As long as your not experiencing crashes to ram you should be fine....

@Vicmepa Will DumaOS 4 be coming to the Netduma R2 or NETGEAR Nighthawk Pro Gaming routers (XR500/XR700/XR1000/XR450/XR300)? For Nighthawk Pro Gaming routers, we have some more unfortunate news: as things stand, DumaOS 4 will not be coming to these units. As you can probably tell, it has been a challenge getting these models onto DumaOS 3.3, for reasons outside of our control. We have been able to get the XR500, XR450 and XR700 onto 3.3 via open beta firmwares. And this week we received an XR1000 firmware from NETGEAR (running DumaOS 3.3) which is going through our internal testing now. So as things stand right now, the only way to get your hands on DumaOS 4 currently is to purchase a Netduma R3.

@kryptik66Does enabling geo-latency not bypass it?
-
@kryptik66There no way around it and I don't think they'll be...they admitted it originally it just the way there game is designed is region locked based for some reason therefore only way is to play around using a vpn to change servers. That's why in certain regions the game is dead and users can't do anything about it. I haven't played the game in a while and doubt they've made any drastic changes to that so till they give you the option in game to change servers don't expect much of change it more of a game developer issue. You should be contacting them directly if you want them to change that and the feature which should've been there from the beginning it just another beta game wait 2-3 years for them to add something that should've been there from the start tired of it to be honest. The game freezes up regardless of you not using this particular router just a fact just bad optimization on the game devs...it occurs every time you load into the game or go back to lobby. To add I believe it sometimes does ping a further server so that's the reason for it kicking you.

XR1000 not working after update
DARKNESS replied to Eyezicks's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
@Eyezicks Use the browser instead of the app as it not optimal at the moment till it get's updated as there are some issues with compatibility. -
@MackMurder Do you live around washington? If you want specific server area you need to disable geo-latency if not it will put you outside the area as it intended to work with some games but from my experience it doesn't so in a way it just a disable toggle feature. What game mode are you playing specifically? As if there fewer players that'll answer your long queue times/games say 200ms as it searhing etc but it really searching with geo and won't be accepted till it finds a server on that area. Player Base Wise that NA-WEST so I would expect some issues that's why certain games have ranked modes and such at certain times such as fortnite do to low player count on selected regions. I'd say use polygon mode and select the servers that have the lowest ping and see if you get better results will monitoring geofilter and check what servers are being blocked and check ping if they're suitable.

Geo Filter /Geo Fence (Not Working Warzone???)
DARKNESS replied to kaptakiller's topic in Netduma R3 Support
@kaptakillerWhat your looking for is the ability to change regions and use the geofilter capabilities...well the only way to do that is to use HVPN and add your VPN to it and select the region you want. You can't change your geo location without it that's why you never find lobbies as the console/game recognizes your location and it trying to put you on the nearest server etc. You can follow the link below same steps just different UI tweaked a bit with more advanced features https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVmBA5a0qqk -
Help me choose between NETDUMA 3 or TP LINK ARCHER AX11000
DARKNESS replied to MackMurder's topic in Community Discussion
@MackMurderYour limited on speeds when it comes to VPN through router to 20 down and 10 up if your using nordvpn I can't say the same-thing for others but that my experience with it...I'd say go with wireguard as that typically the fastest vpn protocol on any router that am aware off though realistically if your using a vpn it better to do in device as it way faster. Also every router vpn will cap your speeds to around 100mbs or less as it just CPU intensive the only time you really need to use this feature is when your gaming and you have bad routing. -
Help me choose between NETDUMA 3 or TP LINK ARCHER AX11000
DARKNESS replied to MackMurder's topic in Community Discussion
@MackMurderWhat I can tell you is that when it comes to wifi range netduma is definitely not on top so if you need something with range you're typically always going to need to add a mesh system/AP. There's just no way around it as signal bands can't artificially cross all walls especially with interference devices like metal/microwaves etc. -
Help me choose between NETDUMA 3 or TP LINK ARCHER AX11000
DARKNESS replied to MackMurder's topic in Community Discussion
@MackMurderI can't speak for Tp link archer ax11000 as I don't own one but from my experience I used netgear and tp link routers and they do ok job but they just don't give you control/ability to choose nearest servers which matters at large when it comes to gaming as ping is king. That's why you don't see any pro player rushing with his guts if he knows he has a high ping in any competitive game there forced to play a specific way which at large isn't there fault but mitigating those issues is all you can do and using the geofilter helps do that which is netduma real cake. -
Help me choose between NETDUMA 3 or TP LINK ARCHER AX11000
DARKNESS replied to MackMurder's topic in Community Discussion
@MackMurderDid you check what the site advertises for features? Here's the link pal https://netduma.com/dumaos/ -
@Matthew_D You only need this feature if your ping spikes consistently in game/have jitter problems do to your ISP it more or less it a remedy for those that do have bad jitter but if you don't then it puts you at disavantage as your just increasing your ping artificially with no benefit. Ping is King do not forget that I still get shot behind corners it not like you can break physics but there something called consistancy and if you want that then it beneficial. My ping spikes around 5-10ms so I just use simple mode and it really hard to tell difference to be honest as the router already does a good job without it but that probably because I don't really suffer from jitter as much as others. Update For my purposes, it would be preferable if the feature were disabled. There is a noticeable delay, and Fuzzy is correct in stating that this issue is solely related to the server, not your ISP.

@EtDrTry rebooting but from interference Settings>Administration>Reboot and see if that resolves the pop up would also recommend using incognito with no https enabled just in case it a cache bug.
-
@Netduma FraserTrue just doesn't make sense if there no benefit in it though I understand seems more like ee service thing but who knows....to the foreseeable future. Just a joke
-
@BrunoReally doubt that'd be the case check the logs and provide them so they can take a look System Information>Download Logs>Attach to forum. Also tip always factory reset after upgrading firmware...
-
@Netduma FraserJust saw this checking out wtfast so does this mean it'll be coming to the R3 or is this just exclusive to merku partnership?

@Proud R3 Owner 800 usd for only 2.5 GB bro come on you need 10 G WAN look at asus and even then this is a niche no one's really buying an 800 usd router except a minority. I'd say you have to look at the market and look at price range realistically it around 300-400 usd for high end routers. https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-GT-AX11000-Triple-Level-Acceleration-Subscription-Free/dp/B0BQ41LDQ3 The only company that does that is asus and that's because they can afford to use the latest tech and there market is also gamery likish..
