Have i got the right setup for frostbite based games?
Netduma Liam replied to wrighty338's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Yes, we're essentially looking to get the ping under load as close to the base ping as possible. -
for some reason it wont let me port forward
Netduma Liam replied to kenny Reel's topic in Netduma R2 Support
What is the IP address of your PC and what is the IP address you use to access dumaos (i.e. 192.168.77.1)? -
You can limit it in Bandwidth Allocation's Device mode, just make sure Share Excess is disabled from the sub-menu. What's the reason for wanting to do this exactly? Have you seen or read somewhere that this would help?

Waveform Bufferbloat on XR1000 Aus only
Netduma Liam replied to Baturi's topic in Call of Duty Support
Yes, I believe it will be there too. -
Ah yes that may be it, can you temporarily put the R2 in the DMZ of that other router?

Netduma R2 Packet loss and Ping spikes Wired and WiFi

Let us know how you get on. We may need to optimise QoS a little further for you. -
Waveform Bufferbloat on XR1000 Aus only
Netduma Liam replied to Baturi's topic in Call of Duty Support
That is very strange. There is a new DPI update coming out for the XR500 alongside the new firmware. If you wanted to, I can add you to the early access group and you can test it out? -
That's the LAN IP of the R2 so unfortunately that won't help me here. What's the make and model of your ISP modem? Is it a pure modem (No Wi-Fi capability), or is it a router/modem combo that you can connect devices to with Wi-Fi?
-
That's odd, can you open an incognito/private window in your browser and check if the behaviour is the same there? If it is, can you download a copy of the log file from System Information -> Logs and send it over to me?
-
I'm afraid there's not an update as yet, I've chased it up with the team to see if we can prioritise it further for you!

OK, so you'd like to see the Ping values shown in Ping Heatmap to be reflective of what your ping will be through the VPN? I'll add it to the roadmap, thanks!

Connection problem with Playstation 5
Netduma Liam replied to ZeDoQueijo's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
For your first problem, did you have SmartConnect disabled prior to disabling the 5GHz network? Or did you only disable it so you could disable the 5GHz? I'd suggest experimenting with SmartConnect disabled so you've got two separate network for 2.4 and 5 and see if that's more stable. For the second problem, could you perhaps try reserving a static IP for the PS5 from Settings -> Setup -> LAN Setup and see if it's able to stay connected then? For the third, if you disable filtering mode on Geo-filter do you still have the same problem? If not, re-enable Geo-filter and watch the Geo-filter map for a 'Blocked' icon when you join the party. Click this icon and manually allow it from the panel that appears beneath the map. That should then allow you to talk in party chat. -
Which Router Do I Need For 2gb up and down
Netduma Liam replied to SadlySorry's topic in Netduma R2 Support
As you guys have mentioned, the R2 and any upcoming hardware I'm aware of is all using gigabit hardware. It may be in future we use something with 2.5Gbit ports, but nothing on the horizon as yet. -
What device are you playing on? PC or Console? As a test, could you try adding a new rule to Traffic Prioritisation for your gaming device and select 'Games console' as the service. Disable all other rules and play a couple of games with this setting. Does that feel any better?
-
Welcome to the forum! As mentioned above, please go to the three-line menu in Geo-filter and hit 'Resync cloud'. Do you still get the same error? Can you show screenshots of exactly what you're seeing in Congestion Control and Connection Benchmark?

for some reason it wont let me port forward
Netduma Liam replied to kenny Reel's topic in Netduma R2 Support
What IP are you trying to port forward to exactly? Make sure it's definitely an IP of a device in your internal network. -
I'm afraid there's no update that we can share besides what we list here in the firmware status page: https://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000132677-dumaos-firmware-progress
-
I still don't seem to be able to access it, does this match the IP that you see in System Information -> Network Status? Did you definitely hit 'Save settings' after enabling remote access?
-
@LinuxDan We're currently trialling some new firmware with our early access testers that has a bunch of fixes to various issues reported. I'd suggest signing up for Early Access here: We can then approve you and you can try out the new firmware to see if it's working better for you?

Apex legends will not work with Geo Filter
Netduma Liam replied to sikpup's topic in Netduma R1 Support
We believe filtering Apex should get better once we've released our new version of Geo-filter. The approach to filtering in this new version is completely changed and much less aggressive while still being very effective. This should mean that you don't get these strange errors thrown when servers are blocked. We don't yet have an ETA for this new version just yet, but we are currently testing it and making final improvements so it shouldn't be too much longer! -
You're looking in the right place, apologies for the broken link. That's been fixed now. There isn't yet a v1.0.0.68 firmware for the XR1000, one was released on NETGEAR's site by mistake hence why that link was updated, but the firmware was pulled thus breaking the link.
-
You don't need to DMZ the PS5 as well, just the XR500 in the ISP DMZ. After that, see if you have Open NAT. If you don't, temporarily disable Geo-filter's filtering mode and see if that was causing the mis-reading of NAT.

Optimal settings for ps5 and spectrum internet
Netduma Liam replied to RogueFpv80's topic in Call of Duty Support
Welcome to the forum! Out of interest, why do you need to keep rebooting the router? I'd suggest following the below optimal settings guides for getting setup for CoD! https://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000077072-dumaos-optimal-settings-guide-geo-filter https://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000077073-dumaos-optimal-settings-guide-qos -
Warzone 2.0 - Geo-Filter Not Working
Netduma Liam replied to TheSkyscraper's topic in Call of Duty Support
Out of interest, where was your VPN set to? That could account for the increased Ping.
