Spdsk8race got a reaction from Foreign in Netduma Stability Update
For my setup I directly connected from the ONT to the R3.

    Under WAN:

Changed the MAC address to match the Google provided gateway

Changed DNS to the best one for me (1.1.1.1 primary, 8.8.8.8 secondary)

    Disabled upstream DNS

Manually keyed in MTU to 1500

Left IPv6*ENABLED* (IPv6 is a toss up on if it's better or worse to have on or off. For my fiber connection, it's proved to be better in the long term.)

    LAN settings:

Left IPv6 *ENABLED* (IPv6 is a toss up on if it's better or worse to have on or off. For my fiber connection, it's proved to be better in the long term.)

    UPnP enabled

    Internet rules settings:

DO NOT SET ANY INTERNET RULES, DELETE ANYTHING WITHIN HERE. This broke my wifi speeds, wired speeds by literally in half.

    RGB lighting settings:

Turned all off due to stability issues I have ran into with the router

    Geo filter settings:

    Disable steady ping

    Enable geo location

    Enable strict

    Ping optimizer settings:

    Set everything to 100%

Congestion control mode set to low latency

Speed test bypass is enabled at the moment/on/currently Red

    Smartboost settings:

    Turned on smartboost

    Simple mode enabled

    Removed all activities and devices

    Adblocker settings:

Manually disabled every device in adblocker

    Then turned off adblocker.

    System information:

Confirm/set time zone to your timezone

Turned off all protection/protocols in troubleshooting and disabled telemetry under troubleshooting. With these exact settings I get these results consistently get 950-980 Mbps through ookla or directly through router speed test. Wireless I'm now getting 750+ Mbps and 4ms ping (when pinging the Texas Google fibers server of course

Try the fix I had. Change your time zone to where you live it's in the settings. I did this and my random reboots stopped.

I would verify with your ISP that it truly is in Bridge mode and then ask if there is a specific port that runs it, it could be lan4 as well. Best advice, talk with your ISP about everything and see if there is anything else you need to do. If you want this to work, you're gonna have to put in the time , if not, go for a refund and stick with your setup from the ISP.

Alright, do you see on the router where there is nothing plugged into port 1? Move whichever cable feeds your wall jack in the room the R3 is being used to port 1, make sure no other cables are plugged into that hub except the cable in port 1 that will feed the R3. Power down the hub before you do this, power off R3, then power up the Telus Hub, then once it is online, power up the R3. You will not want anything else connected to that hub so all your traffic is being handled by the R3.

ipv6 shouldn't be needed?? I would turn off IPV6 on the wan side completely as it doesn't work correctly for a majority of users currently. Also, from my reading online, only LAN1 can be used for Bridge mode to bypass the router. I have a Nokia ONT and I had to use LAN1 for mine to work correctly. Can you put a picture of your setup directly into the thread? I have to use my phone on my corporate network as it doesn't like external downloads. I also saw others say something about getting a external ONT which could help but I want to see if I can help your setup be more flexible in the future.

With my Google fiber, and after a lot of tinkering I was able to to get identical speeds/better speeds as I would get through the provided gateway.
Better to start with one thing at a time, versus trying to get bufferbloat, speeds, ping, etc etc done all at once.

Spdsk8race got a reaction from khola in New issue with upnp port forwarding
Well I can confirm that removing the Xbox from Geo-filter, manually selecting another port, then going back to automatic reverts it back to 3074, and then shows open nat type with no issues.
So at this point I just want to make sure I understand, because its starting to feel like paid beta. Which I might have been okay with, if I knew it from the beginning.
The routers main features and selling points:
Geo-filter: Needs to be disabled to have Xbox function, when enabled doesn't show proper servers that game is connecting to, or doesn't properly filter out locations, or is connecting outside of parameters that are set.
steady ping (currently not functioning properly, recommended to be disabled, and needs to be constantly disabled due to turning back on)
smart boost(also causing issues and has been recommended to be disabled)
hybrid VPN (not available at the moment)
    ping optimizer (sometimes works)
    The standard features:
IPv6 currently having issues, recommended to be disabled
    Wifi experiencing speed issues
    Wired experiencing speed issues
UPnP currently experiencing issues/conflicting with geofilter
Port forwarding currently experiencing issues/conflicting with geofilter

Looking at the logs you'll notice that a lot of processes stop or crash, almost like it doesn't have enough ram or memory leaks, crashes and restart. The routers software at the moment I'm assuming isn't in the most stable condition. Limiting the amount of add on/duma features for right now is probably best thing if you want stability

Possible.  at this point most anything is possible.  I can say however that I am getting satisfactory results at this point.  I did turn on the addblocker for a day and had never used an addblock before of any kind.  If I remember correctly it is off by default and may well be the one component that is breaking this whole thing.  I have had few problems since I turned that💩back off.   I hypothesize that if they gave up completely on that one feature and focus on the gaming aspect that we bought this router for........ it would be increadible!!!  I'll bet that if you asked every single person who bought the router if they even considered the addblocker feature when considering purchasing the router...... NO ONE would have said that it was a consideration.
HEY DEVELOPERS!!!!!!  CAN I GET A BUILD WHERE THERE IS NOT AN ADDBLOCKER EVEN INCLUDED IN IT?????!?!?!?!   I HAVE NO INTEREST IN IT AND ONLY WANT THE GAMING FORWARD FEATURES.
AND to NET DUMA I say, you sold me a gaming router on the advertisement that it would improve gaming.  Stop wasting precious time trying to block adds.  STOP IT!!!!!

Spdsk8race got a reaction from Disrek in Is this router really WiFi 6?
@Netduma Fraser I have a few questions now regarding the WiFi 6 and if it's even possible on this device..
After doing some research, trying to solve why the routers wifi speeds are running extremely slow, I came across a few article's from other sites and from WiFi alliance that state for any wifi 6 routers/AX chips they must support WPA3. I remember this being something that other routers required for me to use 160mhz and to take full advantage of WiFi 6 in the past. However, the R3 doesn't provide or seem to have WPA3. This leads to my question, does this router truly provide WiFi 6 or does it state it has WiFi 6 but can't utilize the true functionality of it because of not having WPA3? Here are 3 links and screenshots showing that this is a requirement:

@Netduma FraserSome quick updates, logs and screenshots I thought might have some interesting information:
.23 update on Geo-Filter issues: (Updated to .23, then factory reset, current settings are split wifi, disabled all router protections in troubleshooting section, set static IP for Xbox, UPNP Enabled)
    I have gone through and adjusting all settings, turning things off and on one at a time and I have come to a few conclusions and interesting tidbits;
    - When first booting up the app after starting COD, opening to geo-filter directly never shows any activity, I need to click off geo-filter (I usually select device manager) wait a second or 2, then go back to geo-filter and servers and everything then appears.
    - If Geo Latency is off, the map does not report any servers or information, but based on system logs, it does appear to be doing what it's supposed to do, but the map just doesn't show the information (Tested through Desktop, cleared browser cache, and Mobile App, cleared app cache, uninstalled and reinstalled app just to be safe)
    - With Geo-Latency on, Xbox Series X (set to Xbox in device manager) using simple boundary, strict enabled, fast disabled, and ping assist set between 35ms-60ms blocking works as expected. (YAY!)
    - With Geo-Latency on, Xbox Series X (set to Xbox in device manager) using simple boundary, strict enabled, fast disabled, and ping assist set under 30ms blocking seem to stop working, and start connecting to servers with 60ms+ and outside boundary. (Odd) ( in particular 25ms seems to be the really bad breaking point, where it starts doing everything really wrong)
    - Ping assist set to 0, blocking seems to be functioning as expected with same info as above. (YAY!)
    Some great things:
    - Smart Boost stats for nerds page is awesome! I LOVE THIS PAGE, I do find it odd that it reports information even with it being disabled, but nonetheless it is some very interesting information
On some other issues reported and feedback rant on-going problems reported:
I'm not a developer, but I have spent the better part of 15 years product testing equipment for nearly all major tech companies, and it seems pretty simple(simple is used very loosely in this)  and one of the most annoying things that seems to happen with all Netduma issues being reported is, it's always something on the end user side that's the issue, and that it couldn't possibly be something wrong with the software or hardware. (insert, Port forwarding issues, wifi issues, wifi range issues, router deciding stop randomly lock up, etc) Unless, it's something that Netduma acknowledges as not working from the release date(Hybrid VPN, Ping optimizer) No matter the amount of reported issues, multiple threads opened, the response everyone seems to always receive is "This is completely unexpected, and no one else has reported anything like this"
It's also most likely aggravating to y'all to have multiple post, in multiple threads, with next to zero information being provided about issues, and then having little to no visibility to see how many people are having said issue. I don't know if would be possible to create a seperate sub forum for issue reporting only, that would require a log file and whatever setting configurations would be beneficial for your team to be aware of, then have a thumbs up or down for people to report having the same issue(If they thumbs up, maybe require these people to attach a log also) having the thread locked from having replies from anyone thats not Netduma, and have one of y'all post a possible solution, and another thumbs up or down if it resolves the issue. This would make it a lot easier for end users to report issues in a way your team can find benefiscal, being able to track amount of users experiencing said issue, and having a simple path to provide a resolution/possible resolution to the masses, without having to dig through 50+ threads to find an outdated fix, and then causing your team to respond to the same issue 100's of time. Just my 2 cents on maybe a better way of getting things cleaned up/stop the multiple post across multiple threads for the same issues.
    RApps Issues:
    - Xbox traffic in stats for nerds, is being reported as Samknows, Always see screenshot below
    - Ping Optimizer seems to work pretty well, but only works when smart boost is enabled (Verified this to be fact based on system logs showing it wouldn't start the process until smart boost is enabled
    - Smart Boost might not be turning off, even when selecting disabled (Could be the cause of the wifi issues, attaching logs and screen shots showing when I disable smartboost, it seems to state that it's still enabled in system logs)
    - One small note to make with Smart Boost, the router absolutely DOES NOT LIKE having every activity enabled, lol. It crashes the app and makes accessing the dashboard page even from hardwire near impossible. Very minor issue, but thought it was interesting.
    - Seeing a very odd, conntrack error in the system logs, log is attached and a screenshot of this message
    WIFI issues:
    - The Wifi is definitely broken between all updates I have used (.16, .19, .20, .23) regarding Max Throughput/Max Mbps seen in speed test, without question. My network speed is ATT Fiber 2 Gbps with a CAT8 cable. I can set the router in a space where no electronics are nearby, using a wifi 6 compatible device (Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, Oneplus 11, Samsung S23 Ultra, Lenovo p1 6th Gen laptop with wifi 6e card), along with having split wifi, and using 160 Mhz bandwidth(Also tried on every bandwidth, as recommend... even though this seem to be counter productive..) channel 128 ( in area there are 0 on channel) and standing 2 feet, 5 feet, 10 feet etc etc with direct line of sight and antennas pointed in the recommend configuration, along with disconnecting every item from the network, and speeds will never reach above 400 Mbps on download or upload. and to clarify a VERY key item, I can unplug the R3, connect my 6 year old XR500 (with no Wifi 6...) and my wifi speeds are 800+ Mbps on download and upload, consistently .  This is a annoying issue, and based upon the multiple threads about this, this isn't a isolated issue and I have yet to see 2 people report their wifi performing anywhere near expected. (I did see one, but without any proof that speeds were seen over wifi)
    - Port Forwarding doesn't work, at all. minor issue since UPnP seems to work perfectly fine at the moment. Minor issue
    Overall:
Even with the issues that I have experienced with this router, the router when it is working for gaming, work amazing! and the other issues I have experienced while extremely irritating, are not issues that are making me want to drown the router in water (Some test devices I have really wanted to do this) and for small company, with a niche product, this is going to continue to get better and better! Thank you for the continued support and constant interaction within your forums!

If you can send me a DM to let me know if you're interested, we'll note your name down and let you know if/when we've added you to the group.
