@jorlanjorge Here is how you use Port Forwarding on the R3.. 1) Give your port a Rule name. 2) select either "Port" or "Port Range".. If you are only opening one port then you would select "Port" as you are only forwarding one port.. 3) Enter the port number you want to forward in each field.. example would be 3659.. Source Start 3659 Source End 3659 Destination Start 3659 Destination End 3659 4) select TCP or UDP or Both 5) Save the rule.. You have just forward one port.. Sometimes you have to restart the device for the rule to take effect.. If you have any other questions with Port Forwarding just let me know! Thanks! Zippy..

ANNOUNCEMENT: Introducing the Netduma R3
Zippy replied to Netduma Lew's topic in News & Announcements
Basically it works just as Fuzy and Fraser have mentioned.. 👍 Ive used this feature exclusively and very much like it! It may not seem like a good idea to actually add ping to ones connection.. But in this situation it is what you want.. A Steady Ping to the game server will result in a much more responsive type game performance.. Things that ive noticed is hit detection has improved. Aiming is much more stable. And of course the game feels smoother.. Jitter in any game is a killer.. Steady Ping helps with that.. Steady Ping does not fix a bad line though.. And it does not make you the gaming god! But it will help bring your gaming to a new level! What this really has improved for me is how much more steady my sniping aim is.. Which has led to me getting many more sniping kills! Not to mention no scopes ha ha which I love those! Thanks! Zippy. -

ANNOUNCEMENT: Introducing the Netduma R3

Theres a tremor in the force! Its a R3volution! Zippy. -
Thats exactly what Fraser means.. Connect directly to your modem with your PC and see if you can connect then.. Basically take the R2 out of the equation.. Post back your results then.. Thanks! Zippy.

Its highly unlikely that is an actual attack.. The Ip is actually Facebook and is coming from the Chicago data center.. If you have Facebook or someone in your family does thats likely what is triggering it.. I call these type of attacks false positives.. The downfall from this though is Netgear tagging it as such.. Which can cause the site not to perform properly.. Netgear actually even calls my ISP DNS servers an attack at times.. Not to mention other sites like MS.. My router will be fine for days.. Then out of nowhere the Netgear router will all of a sudden start popping these up.. If you start to notice more and more of these and you start to notice a performance issue do a reboot and see if that helps.. Thats the only work around that I can come up with at this time.. Which isnt the best solution.. Because over time they do seem to comeback.. Thanks. Zippy.

Would also love to see an update on this Fraser! Thanks! Can we use the Geo on this game yet or is that something that 343 has permanently blocked from doing so for good? Zippy.

That is strange.. Can any other device connect to the R2 and work? Or is it just your computer? Thanks! Zippy.
-
Heres what I would try again.. Factory reset the R2 again.. Hold the reset button on the back of the R2 for at least 30 seconds.. release and then wait a bit for the R2 to fully reset and boot back up.. Then proceed to the setup wizard again and see if that works.. If it wont connect again just power cycle the modem and then try again to see if the setup wizard can detect your connection.. If you still have an issue we can see what @Netduma Fraser can suggest more for you.. Its strange that what you have done so far hasnt worked.. Good luck and post back with your results. Zippy.

Hummm thats a bit strange.. Did you factory reset the R2? And then go through the setup wizard? It you connect your PC directly to the modem do you have a connection to the internet then? If you make it into the setup wizard of the R2 do you get to the point where it says cant not connect? Im trying to understand where the issue is. Thanks! Zippy.

Hey David, try and power cycle your Spectrum Modem.. Wait a bit and then see if you connect.. How long have you had your R2? Did you just get it? Thanks! Zippy.

Warzone 2 and share excess download and upload
Zippy replied to Rozay's topic in Community Discussion
Hey @Rozay When you have the XR500 hooked up and have IPV6 enabled do you have UPNP enabled or disabled? If you have IPV6 enabled try and disable UPNP ang reboot the XR500.. If things are working correctly you should still have an Open NAT even with UPNP disabled using IPV6 .. What do you get? Thanks! Zippy.- 24 replies

Requesting Access to the XR500 Beta Please.
Zippy replied to cljackhammer's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Hey @Netduma Fraser I was wondering if I possibly could get added as well.. I still have my XR500 and would like to give this a go.. How has the beta been going thus far btw? Thanks! Zippy. -
You can go to Network Monitor and see if your particular game or whatever app or service is being picked up properly.. If you are seeing it as Unknown or Uncategorized then you know it isnt.. You have to do this while its being used to see this.. From what you have described though sounds like to me it isnt being picked up correctly.. Thanks! Zippy.

I would keep your distribution flower set so everything is evenly distributed.. I wouldnt recommend setting more to one thing or another.. Keep everything evenly distributed.. Just focus on your congestion control/ sliders.. The only reason I mention this is because if something in the distribution is not being picked up properly or is uncategorized you will do more harm then good when it comes to battling buffer bloat.. Hopefully that makes some sense.. As to why you cant login to the DumaOS app that is something Netduma can explain more on.. Thanks! Zippy.

Im amazed one can lower the MTU that low on Xbox.. Specially when Xbox only allows a MTU of 1384 or higher.. Very interesting.. If your gaming is better with it that low that makes me think that PMTUD isnt working correctly for you.. And also makes me think there possible is a bug on the Netduma to allow one to set it that low.. Unless its a form of WAN clamping only on the Netduma.. Last time I tried to set it any lower then 1400 I got a message stating so on Xbox.. Interesting again you can set it that low.. I agree with you on port forwarding.. UPNP is a last resort method.. And last I checked Xbox seemed to be using a very old version of upnp.. Imo I wish we had a port triggering option on the R2.. Interesting stuff! Zippy.

Welcome Kieran! Looking forward to the more content as well. Good luck with it all.👍 Zippy.

Awesome video! Wish you all the best with Netduma! Id have to imagine working for such a nice company is quite a treat! Again all the best! Zippy.

Give it a try if you want.. Again I do find myself like one of the only one that uses IPV6.. I just find that part strange.. lol..Im not sure if different ISP are at different stages of there IPV6 roll out or what the deal is there.. Thanks! Zippy.

Thats interesting.. For me I have IPV6 enabled on both WAN and LAN and it seems to perform better for me.. Im on the Xbox and have upnp off and no port forwarding rules and no dmz used.. But I do get an Open NAT even with all of that off.. Which is correct for IPV6 to work like that.. I think im the only one using IPV6.. lol.. Thanks! Zippy.
