The black and red box of netduma R2 should be sealed ?
Netduma Fraser replied to NeoKot's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Hello, welcome to the forum! It could be the reviewer had already opened it to ensure the full contents was there before making the video, otherwise if there isn't a seal it would be because we needed to open it to put the firmware on. Either way rest assured you would be receiving a new unit. -
There should be something blocked on the map when that happens, if you allow it does that let you into the game but with a server inside your radius?
-
It's not the full file, there will be other parts you need to get it connected. Was there a zip file? If so upload that and I'll put together a config for you.

Generally the betas are up to Netgear but we do push for them, especially when there are big changes such as the transition to 3.3 so I imagine there will be at least one beta but for more smaller updates I wouldn't expect we'd do a beta every time.
-
Yes that's right!
-
Based on what I can see the team are debugging an issue with accessing the interface after implementing fixes for 3.3 so it depends how long that takes. There probably will be, I just don't want to promise one in case it does end up going straight to the public release. I would be surprised if that happened though.

The CoD profile specifically would also use DPI, in general DPI would be more specific and we did do a DPI update recently for the XR500 so either using CoD or Classified should give you good results.

It depends how precise you want to be, you could play a game and lower the percentage, play another and lower it further etc until you find a value that feels right or you can go more in depth: By utilizing this guide: https://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/articles/16000074717-how-to-test-your-internet-ping while saturating your connection with downloads and with Always selected start with a high value for Congestion Control, say 95% then do a test, decrease by 10%, test, decrease by 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good and then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. It's important to note that Download & Upload on Congestion Control don't have to be the same value and that you may have a better experience with differing values. You don't need to adjust Bandwidth Allocation really.

Still pretty much the same question towards traffic prioritization
Netduma Fraser replied to Arthurkulp's topic in Off Topic
I've responded in the other topic, no need to make a new topic for a new question -
I have a ? On traffic prioritization
Netduma Fraser replied to Arthurkulp's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
It will prevent spikes and jitter so you'll have a more consistent experience overall and will help to keep your ping low -

Both essentially so yes it's still beneficial to have it enabled even if it is the only device being used. For QoS to work optimally overall though all devices should be connected to the router and not to your ISP modem/router. -

Thanks I'll pass it on, this would be best suited to the Early Access section if you have something like this specific to an early access version -
Traffic Rules - PS5 - MW2
Netduma Fraser replied to AlexMarshall's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
This is basically a parental control feature so you don't need to do anything with it unless you want that function. I would suggest removing that rule as well. -
I normally suggest PlayStation as it is a PlayStation but as above won't matter too much either way.
-
That is really great to hear, thanks for the update!

Do you have an Anti-virus/firewall installed on your PC? If so it could be blocking the interface, either disable it then check or add http://192.168.77.1/ as a trusted site and then check please and try to upgrade immediately.

Internet Issues
Netduma Fraser replied to davemarsden132's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Was a speedtest the only thing you did to saturate your connection? If so it doesn't last long enough for you to get a good idea of whether QoS will be able to eliminate any spiking, downloading would be best, a game on steam for example, then try it again -
Adblocker with Apple devices
Netduma Fraser replied to BengalBert's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Do it without the wildcard on block and allow please and see if it allows it then. Here are all the apple.com URLs from the file so you can just paste them in easily: advertising.apple.com api-adservices.apple.com apple.com apps.iad.apple.com blueprints.iad.apple.com books-analytics-events.apple.com ca.iadsdk.apple.com ccportal.iad.apple.com cf.iadsdk.apple.com cmws.iad.apple.com cs.iadsdk.apple.com display-apps-ui-soak.iad.apple.com display-apps-ui.iad.apple.com fmiphone-apple.com https-apple.com iad.apple.com iadfeed.iad.apple.com iadsdk.apple.com iadworkbench-soak.iad.apple.com iris.iad.apple.com luggagetumbledapple.com news.iadsdk.apple.com notes-analytics-events.apple.com securemetrics.apple.com shackapple.com stg-cmws.iad.apple.com stocks-analytics-events.apple.com su.iadsdk.apple.com sub.powerapple.com supportmetrics.apple.com tr.iadsdk.apple.com ut.iadsdk.apple.com view-apple.com weather-analytics-events.apple.com www.fmiphone-apple.com www.view-apple.com -

Thanks for letting us know, looks like you're watching it on an LG TV is that right? -
Usually they suggest lowering upload to combat lag compensation as they theorize having a much lower upload fools the game into thinking you have a worse connection than you do, thereby giving you an advantage over others. Regardless of lag compensation though using QoS for upload is a good idea as you have much lower upload than download and therefore it's more likely to become saturated which could cause you to lag.
