Cameron Posted September 23, 2020 Share Posted September 23, 2020 Hey Guys, Does anyone know if the Arcadyan variant of the Smart Gen 2 Modem is getting the open beta for DumaOS? Will the Telstra Optimiser launch coincide with the DumaOS App release as I am unable to find it in the App Store currently? If we aren't eligible for the Open Beta would I be able to be considered for a closed beta? Would be happy to test out all of the features and report bugs, even if it's not as stable as the open beta for the technicolor variant P.S Super excited for this to launch! Great job on the OS - very innovative and useful. One more question: if the firewall is turned on under the Telstra settings panel and the user switches to DumaOS and enables the firewall there too, is that going to cause a double firewall for example? Or would it recognise the modems settings in combination with the DumaOS settings? The one that begins on Thursday is for Technicolor only at the moment. I have asked the team regarding Arc and when we can expect that to go in beta. We will keep you in mind for that! The DumaOS App is currently available, if you search for Netduma then you should find it on iOS and Android stores. As far as I am aware it will use the existing Telstra firewall. It's sort of a combination type deal, I think that's best to ensure that you can always have a connection if a bug were to appear for example. Hey Cameron, we are working on the Arcadyan build now (i've actually got it running myself - playing a bit of COD). We plan to give everyone access to at least a full on us to give us feedback and see if it's good enough. However if there is some interest in a few people with Arcadyan devices joining a early access beta - I can check with the team and see what is possible. But since its activated on your device, we can put your device at the top of queue for new firmware rollout occurring in the next few weeks. Just reply here with your devices serial number and note you were able to activate via MyTelstra, If you have an Arcadyan/LH1000 Smart Modem but havent yet been able to activate in MyTelstra; you will be able to from 10th November and access the 1mth trial. If my modem is showing DumaOS in the backend and in the 'extras' tab, should my app be working or am I waiting for the update to be made available? Hi, Have been hanging out for a QoS service on the Smart Modem and have been thinking about abandoning Telstra or getting a new modem, so the game optimiser is a dream come true. Anyhow, was in touch with Fraser via Telstra communities, who advised that it was being developed, however, would be keen to get in on the beta .
