Hey guys, just checking in as it's been a while now

Has Alex had time to look into this yet?

With DumaOS announcements/testing recently he hasn't had a chance I don't think but he will do it asap.

keep seeing a trend of "i'll ask alex" and "I'll test again".   At the sake of sounding ungrateful, could we just get a straight up answer if this issue is actually being looked at or pushed to the side?

Sorry for the delay, I'll ask Alex to actually post here himself with an update.

I did see the server I was connected to using the PC.

I unchecked 'Duma Classified Games' on traffic prioritization and I was able to see people that I connected to like before

Hi all,

We haven't had time to get Destiny 2 PC working with Geo-Filter since it switched to Steamworks. I'm afraid it might take some time to get this done as we are also very busy with getting DumaOS 3.0 out.

I don't yet know whether Steamworks will be even be compatible with Geo-Filter, I read the official documentation and it looks as if the matchmaking takes place on Steam's network rather than locally, meaning that we might not have any control over it. We'll need to experiment, there may be some changes we can make to Geo-Filter to make it compatible.

I'll update you when we've made progress on this one. Sorry about the wait.

Thanks for the update Alex! One thing to note is that casual play with CS:GO works with the Geo-Filter apparently, and that is also using Steamworks so there is some hope that it can work with Destiny 2 PC.

It's completely understandable that DumaOS 3.0 is the priority but with it being 4 months now since the Geo-Filter stopped working it's a little frustrating to not know if and when it'll ever return. Is there any chance of an ETA? Perhaps a rough estimate on when DumaOS 3.0 is likely to be complete and some time can be spent on this?

Alright, I would suggest you update your list of games that the Geo-Filter is working for on your main page then as I purchased one under the assumption it would work on PC and it didn't. They're also moving the Steamworks stuff to console in the near future so it'll stop working there too.

Hi,

Are there any updates/roadmaps that can be shared regarding re-enabling this functionality for Destiny 2 on PC?

Thanks

Nothing I can share unfortunately at the moment. Alex will be/is looking at the issue for a potential solution.

Just wanted people to be aware here also, in case they're following this thread. Destiny 2 for console will be using Steam Datagram Relay (the same as PC) within the next 3 months, which will break geofiltering capabilities for consoles also. Please give this some priority, as I know many people bought DumaOS enabled products solely for this game. Thanks.

Hi Fraser. Would this require upgrading to dumaOS 3.0 to take advantage of?

We've overhauled our cloud system so this should help with it when it happens but it's still a complex issue to try and get around

Would you its ok to use geofiler and ping assist at the moment?

Or are we getting an update with the overhaul included?

It's all backend systems, nothing on the router side. It will just allow us to more easily provide cloud updates and with higher accuracy

You can use the Geo and Ping assist yes, wouldn't usually suggest PA for Destiny but you can give it a try
