I wouldn't have thought so no, especially as I don't think everyone throttles that much so wouldn't experience that

A follow up question to this...I have noticed that QoS does impact the Xbox when downloading updates (as an example, I'm currently installing a 21GB Halo MCC update) or when uploading game clips. As per your advice with balancing ping and ping under load, QoS is set to 25% down (18.3mbps) and 5% up (0.9mbps) so whilst this should benefit whilst playing COD, it actually has a negative impact when doing things like downloads and uploads when not playing. Is that correct and how it should work?

Congestion Control affects all devices connected to the router and will therefore max out the speeds a device can use. If you want to make a download then I'd suggest you switch it to Never whilst you do that.

I don't think the issue on the R1 is appearing on any other routers including the R2 currently. I think yours should just be the case of manually allowing anything that appears blocked when joining a chat.

Hi Fraser. I'm still experiencing this issue and it's becoming increasingly frustrating now. I've allowed all servers that appear on the Geo Filter when powering up the console, starting the game, joining a lobby and joining party chat. I don't know what else I'm supposed to do here, and it is literally ruining gaming sessions when trying to play with friends.

Are you able to get it working eventually? You mentioned previously it takes a little time but works eventually. How many servers have you added so far to try combat this?

Yeah it randomly starts working...it took about 30-40 minutes last night but that also included approx 30 invites and restarting all my equipment. I think the best thing for me to do would be to take the R2 out of the equation and see if it is an Xbox issue rather than related to the R2. I'll try doing that over the next few days and let you know if the issue persists.

Edit: Just checked my allowed server list in Geo Filter...I have added at least 8 XBL and party chat servers (the ones that I remembered to name), plus added my friends who I am having trouble connecting to in party chat (no issue joining them in game lobby). What actually happens is that we connect to the party chat, can't hear each other and then we are kicked from party with the "party encountered error" message which refers you to check network settings (however no errors are found in network settings).

When you get kicked there should be a definite blocked icon appear on the map. Otherwise disable Filtering Mode, allow everyone to join, re-enable Filtering Mode, wait 2 minutes then search for games. You'll stay connected to each other and will be able to filter.

LOL it doesn't work that way, disable or enabled they wont hear him. the last time i tried this i started a party chat then just keep adding every icon that popped up. after adding i dont know 50 or more i was able to have a friend connect then had to add about another 50, but in the time of doing that the party chat disconnects with a error. the party chat servers also changing while in party chat too

Hi Fraser. A blocked icon doesn't appear on the Geo Filter map.

The R2 losing connection to the BT Smarthub2 for the second day has pretty much forced my hand, and I have now taken the R2 out of the equation...all devices including the Xbox One are now connected to BT Smarthub2 so I will test if the XBL party chat issues persist and let you know. If the XBL party chat problem is resolved without the R2 then I will try your suggested method of disabling filtering mode.

As a side note, I need a fix as to why my R2 has suddenly started to disconnect at approx the same time for the second day in a row. As per the issue with Double NAT, I cannot be restarting the R2 and resetting the DMZ IP settings every day, so hope there is a simple solution for this.

How did you resolve your XBL party chat issues on the R2 then or have you only experienced them on the R1?

For clarity, I'm on R2 and will hopefully find out one way or another later on if it's an issue with the R2 or Xbox.

He's not using the R1 so should be a different issue.

I've replied to your issue in the other topic you posted in. Okay let us know.

@Netduma Liam and @Netduma Fraser...I've been playing for a good few hours this evening with the Xbox One connected wired to just the BT Smarthub2. With regards to the XBL party chat, I can confirm that I experienced no issues whatsoever as I joined instantly, was able to speak to multiple friends instantly and had no disconnections from the party all night. By process of elimination, this unfortunately means that the Netduma R2 (or at least some settings in DumaOS) is causing an issue with XBL party chat.

I can test disabling filter mode but I'd rather have a solution where I don't have to mess around with DumaOS settings...in an ideal world, I'd just like it to work as seemlessly as it does without the R2 connected. If I do this, then should strict mode also be disabled or is that just an option inside filter mode? (R2 is currently off so can't check right now). Also I'm pretty sure you told me to close the game and restart the game if making changes to DumaOS settings, so would I have to close the game, join the XBL chat party and restart the game everytime I want to play and chat with friends?

As a side note, the game felt much smoother tonight with good hit detection without the R2 connected than it has in weeks...which makes me feel like the R2 isn't actually helping much or may be the settings on the BT Smarthub2 and DumaOS are conflicting and hindering game performance.

Sorry to hear that!

Switching to spectator mode should stop any issues with party chat, it just means you won't be able to choose which servers you're connecting to etc until we've got a fix for this! You may need to leave the party and re-join once you've switched to spectator mode.

I'm not sure why you would've experienced a better connection through the BT hub directly, were you having any issues with your NAT type when the R2 was connected?

What is "spectator mode" and how do you access it? I've never heard of this before.

I presume I can't be the only one on Xbox One with an R2 experiencing this issue, so is this a known issue and temporary work around? I note that the same issue with R1 has been over a year without a fix, so how long is a fix realistically likely to take?

If I'm unable to use the DumasOS features that I purchased it for then as is stands my Netduma R2 is basically useless to me, so would I able to request a refund?

The only time I've experienced NAT type issues were in the last few days when I received a Double NAT...fault finding found the R2 lost connection due to the WAN IP address changed in DMZ and I had to update these settings. I haven't used it since it last disconnected as I decided to remove the R2 to test the XBL party chat issue.

Spectator mode was pre-3.0 and was essentially what toggling filtering mode off does - allows you to see servers and ping without filtering - hence you're spectating. So in this instance toggle Filtering Mode off and see if it works fine, if it doesn't then it is akin to the R1 issue but we haven't had reports like yours on the R2 about this so would be interested to see if you had these issues direct to the hub. Ok thanks Fraser. I'm not sure much I'll be playing over the next few days but I'll try connecting and playing with the R2 connected to the BT Smarthub2 without any configuration at all. I'll post again with an update once tested.
