Akic
Doesn't this method kill the internet speed for everything else in your network? Quite a steep price to pay if it does.
Alex49H
You put your home location over the closest and best server to you. Decrease your Geo Filter and click the Snap button so it expands. Leave Auto Ping on and he usually has his ping set to 8 to 15. I have mine at 45. I get into pretty good games now although I still see lag but that is the game and the X1 servers. I call that the Raddy Method.
Pro Innocence
Yes it will on the download but when Iain implements the download device prioritisation just like the upload you can set your Xbox up and down totally leaving everybody else UN touched. Ah Alex I will try that thanks man
Akic
Yeah bring on download device prioritisation. Can't use this method now too much stuff going on using the internet and not to mention the Mrs would throw a fit lol

Alex49H
I use that with my download and upload at 35% on the Congestion Control. It has been pretty awesome like that.

II Z IE IR O II
Hey guys yes it still works, after each update you may need to mess about with the bandwidth to find the sweet spot again. All in all the Xbox one servers are just terrible! Ps4 don't seem to have no way near the same problems and as for last gen my Xbox 360 was 10x better connection, yes there was still some BS but bloop way near the amount with XB1! XB1 servers are that bad I'm concidering moving to PS and I really don't want to as I'm a huge Xbox fan yes. i agree about the ps network playing better than xbox

cranium2001
I set it up like this at the moment, but have not tried a game yet. At least 70% is how I roll. On both. Actually have it at 100% right now.
Murdoch
I played two games with down at 1 percent and up at 16 percent this gives me a throttled ps4 speed of 1.5 mb down and 1 up. Played two games and went 2.0 and 2.75 plus k/d ratios. Great for me. Will test it again later tonight during peak playing hours in the Midwest. Also have a 400ish mile range and 40 ping setting. I should also note I have a separate router for the house and all gadgets. Netduma is ps4 and my iPad only, wife doesn't know about netduma. Shhhhhhhh... Zennon
I am really not sure if the throttling works or is a placebo guys, i know for a fact mental cues work. When i play i can start off a bit flakey then i remember my tv has a 6ms input lag so i think to my self ive got about 20ms avarage on everyone in some cases 50ms or more, if i play quick smart i can out gun them and staight away i start to play better and win most head to head gun fights (which must be placebo). Disclaimer : all games apart from AW I would love to be wrong but ive had poor speed adsl with a 17ms ping though on a long line and now 67mb down 19 up fibre on a 16ms ping and it plays identical. Edit: in the past i have used network adaptor sharing from my pc to my xbox which enabled me to use capping software first few games i was playing well with the thought "yes this is working" then a few games later when my adrenaline had wore down and my reaction times were not as good it was back to square one. Akic
Zennon you might be right. I can't try this technique because I don't want to murder my internet speeds but the placebo effect is real and powerful. I saw a documentary where they gave Olympic athletes (cyclists) some performance enhancing supplements and many of them recorded their best times ever. Turns out they were just given sugar pills. So I guess I'm saying shhhhhh
Zennon
The mind is a powerful thing, gamers that have quick reaction times can not sustain them all the time. I play one game to get back muscle memory for my hand to pad coordination, then i peak for the next 4 games, after that unless i am in a party and being spurned on then i loose the lightning abilitys lol and turn it off , might be an age thing that also haha. Buds
Great posts Zennon / Akic. I have to say I agree. I tried really calling my line and tbh no difference from full speeds. I don't profess to be an expert in CoD these days but I'd say I'm above average. I know when my aim is just off and I'll get beat in a straight fight by time I've adjusted aim. Straight fight when I'm 'on' I'll seldom lose. I aim quick and react quick (for my advancing years) so do ok with cod etc.
Zennon
I think playing console/games as you get older helps your reactions in life to i notice myself being really alert to traffic and pedestrians when i am out and about lol

Murdoch
I do believe in the placebo effect. I also tend to play better on super low volume headphones. Less distraction for my brain figuring out sounds and where they are coming from. I played a dozen or so games tonight and did very well. This is my current settings that I did not touch all night. I live near Chicago, however the server near me gives me the worst game play, so I set my location over the New Jersey server and mileage at 400 miles ping to 38ms. Throttled down my speed so that the ps4 tests at 5 down and 1.0 upload speeds. It has been almost flawless in two nights playing.
MrRelentlessUK
Zennon what tv do you have with a 6ms input lag? I thought my tv was good with a 13.5ms input lag
Zennon
The Sony KDL42W705B by camera its 6ms by leo bodnar its 14ms http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/input-lag It is the first model on that page i quoted the camera test as its the lowest reading. It has made a hell of a difference, so glad i did research on input lag before purchasing a new one. The first link is uk based tv's and this one is for Us tv's. http://www.displaylag.com/display-database/
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted May 2, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted May 2, 2015 I do believe in the placebo effect. I also tend to play better on super low volume headphones. I also find that I play better with very low volume or even without ay headphones on. I thought it was just coincident but maybe it isn't
Zennon
Audio can help on games like ghosts and bops 2 with there are good sound perk's but on others it can be a distraction I totally agree.
