FQs19
So I've done absolutely everything i could trying to get good, consistent Gameplay in BO3 on my PS4.Nothing worked:Putting the Netduma after my modem.Putting the Netduma after my asus after my modem.Checking Ping Plotter results.Having my isp confirm there were no issues.Replacing multiple modems.70/70 on the congestion control.Factory Resets.Moving home location in the geo-filter.Using Ping Assist only.Throttling my connection.Adjusting for A+ in bufferbloat.Adjusting geo-filter to play on P2P hosts only.Reinstalling BO3 on my PS4.Re-initializing my PS4 and Reinstalling BO3.You name it, I've tried it.Nothing seemed to give me good hit detection.Nothing gave me consistent results.Hit-markers never synced with their sound. My game always seemed a second behind everyone else.I gave up, defeated.I thought to myself "what am i missing? What else can i try?""Well, i can buy BO3 for the xbox one to see if i get the same poor results."At least confirm that the game itself is to blame. So i did. I bought BO3 for the xbox one.I figured it's only $40 and i could just return it or sell it if it still plays poorly. Now, just for some background info.I was playing the digital deluxe BO3 edition on my PS4 in which i put an ssd hard drive that was up to date with it's firmware. So the game is all digital and includes all the map packs which is only two so far.I imagined that getting a BO3 disc for the ps4 wouldn't change the poor Gameplay. I mean you can't beat an ssd when comparing it to a disc being read at 5400rpm.My netduma is up to date running 1.03.6 put right after my netgear cm600 modem. All consoles are wired to the netduma. My isp is comcast with 180/12 speeds. Currently using 80 down 90 up on the congestion controls with share excess ticked. My signature shows my ping, equipment, and bufferbloat: Now with all that said, i was not expecting a significant difference in Gameplay on the xbox one.Boy was i wrong.Completely fucking wrong. After setting up my controls and classes i loaded into a FFA match.Everyone in the lobby was a level 20 or higher and everyone had already Prestiged at least once.I was a level 1 with no hope of winning against these players.I didn't care. I was determined to play this game just like any other, like I've been doing since cod 2.The next 10 minutes were magical.I was dumbstruck.I couldn't believe how good the hit detection was.I couldn't believe how precise the aiming felt.Hit-markers were spot on.People were actually dying when they should've.I died when I should've.The game ended with me in First!"Are you shitting me!"How did i just come in first against these players? It had to be a fluke. But the next 3 games i played before i went to work were just the same. I didn't win them but i was second or third in all of them.Unbelievable considering i was still a level 7 by the end. What a relief.I finally found my issue. The PS4 network and BO3, at least for me, just doesn't work well.I've never doubted the Netduma. And i sure as hell never will after this.Thank you Luke, Iain, Fraser, and all the other staff for this product. It has been the single greatest investment for my gaming setup. Thanks to all of you in the forums. This forum has been a game changer, literally.I'm excited for the next firmware release and i hope everyone reading this will take the time to really understand this product and do their do diligence in debugging their own problems.Patience is key. We're all here to help each other get the best gaming possible, but sometimes it takes you, yourself, to figure out what the issue is.GoodluckFQs19

FQs19
Not that me and the xbox crew have been saying this for ages Can't believe that in this day and age, one console could be that much different then the next. But alas, we'll all come around eventually.
Zennon
I was shocked when most people defected to PS from Xbox when MS are one of the richest company's in the world and had voiced that they were implementing the Azure servers. I have not played on the PS/Activision servers but I can guess what is like from all the posts I see here.

My post about the server ping plot is irrelevant, apparently a bad route to any NY/NJ servers is the issue. Comcast is looking into it.
blakeyb1
I have both I feel no difference but my connection is pretty much perfect all around. I prefer the ps4's higher res though. I only play pubs in my spare time that being said, I usually play for some sort of money.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 1, 2016 Administrators Share Posted July 1, 2016 A shame to hear the PS4 version didn't work out for you but great to hear you're having a really good experience on XB1
Buster
This is funny to me because i moved from xbox one to ps4 and my ping halved and gameplay itself is much smoother!
Urge
Had a copy of the game for both systems. X1 played much better for me as well. PS4 was better during the 1st half of AW, but CoD's shift from the Activision servers to Azure on the Xbox side made a big difference.
Dillinger
I bought that damn PS4 because everyone was nothing but sunshine and compliments about how well BO3 ran on their Beta as opposed to the XB1 variant. A few months back I just scrapped the PS4 game play and decided to concentrate on leveling up the XB1 account. I find the game still has occasional problems, but I much prefer the XB1 variant with the Azure servers.

There is no difference in gameplay between Dedicated and P2P hosts, at least for me. They both suck. That only leaves BO3 netcode specifically on the PS4 as the culprit. Ghosts on the PS4 was spot on. No issues with Dedicated or P2P hosts.
A7Legit
I play BO3 on both consoles... Azure > Vultr > Choppa LLC... On XB1 cling to the Azure dedi's and on PS4 cling to he Vultr dedi's, abandon Choppa dedi's lol.
AsNCo
Hey FQs19. Could you try one more thing for me? Try playing BO3 on a new account on the PS4. 1) If SBMM is in full effect, usually as a new player, you will be matched with people of the lowest skill. (Levels only show how long you've played this game and not a representative of your skill)As you continue to get better at this game, you'll start to experience the same downgrade.2) Plus, because you won't have those lousy map packs that only us hardcore players will buy, the people that you'll get are usually casual and relaxed players that don't really care about map packs and playing extremely competitively.Recently, I've started playing BO3 again to test out Cinch Gaming's Cinch Tech Beta controller to see how well it will record your stats and all. With my luck, I encountered a local P2P lobby and the reason it was there was because of another Netduma user in my country too! Haha! What luck. We partied up and I made some new friends. My K/D finally went so high as we were playing on either my friend's connection and sometimes me being the host. When we can't find a game, I'll be the party leader and since we block Japan's lousy Choopa LLC servers, we'll get into Australian servers and even though I get 2-3 bars, the lag compensation made it so much more fair for us players. And trust me, you do not want to play on Japan servers. They are so competitive! But because of that experience through the years, when I play on the Australian servers, I realize how much more casual the games are. And I literally completed all the challenges that the Cinch Tech app offers because of my competitive side doing drop and jump and a combination of mixing weapons and more in just 1 day!I am seriously loving Black Ops 3 now on the PS4. Just that I hate the DLC weapons in the game. Here I am trying to play Call of Duty with realistic guns but instead, I am getting killed by baseball bats, some magic swords, dragonball energy shotguns. It made me cringe a bit at how ridiculous the game has become when compared to previous Call of Duties. Very childish. I would say. As we get older, I don't really feel manly playing this. LoL.Oh well, at least, Blizzard's Overwatch servers are available locally in my country and the gameplays are always smooth even though Activision is also the publisher. BO3 should have used Blizzard's servers when planning so it'll be fairer and play much better for us than those cheap and shitty Choopa servers. Thanks again Netduma. When the host filtering works, wonders happen.

When the host filtering works, wonders happen. Sorry but I'm not going to make a new account to try and see if SBMM is in effect. It is. But it is only in for team balancing. I mostly play FFA so it doesn't affect me. If you play TDM, look at the leaderboards, notice the number 1 and 2 players will always be on opposite sides unless they are playing as a group. I notice no difference between playing on a Dedi or P2P host. they play exactly the same for me. What I have noticed between the xbox1 and ps4 versions is that when someone is lagging in the xbox1 lobby, then the whole lobby is affected and especially the visuals, ie studdering, warping. On the ps4 version, you don't see any effect while playing. Game play is always smooth. No studdering, warping, etc. You can tell someone is lagging because you can't kill them. Sometimes you can't kill anyone.
