  1. Yep that’s my understanding of the mono setting description too. I did some quick tests in the Amsterdam mission near the bridge and the band playing, and having mono on with slider set to zero did provide better directional audio for myself. I will need to do further audio tests but obviously we won’t be able to determine if this will improve directional footstep audio in MP until next week.
  2. Has anyone else read the descriptions for mono audio settings in CODMW2? I’m not sure if I’m misunderstanding this, but from the descriptions it sounds like this setting actually needs to be enabled to improve directional audio as having it off merges all sounds via both channels, and the level bar further customises the clarity of directional audio. I tested this setting in campaign and directional audio does sound better with mono on and the slider set to zero, however this sounds backwards to me because we want audio in stereo so we would naturally assume the mono option should be off, but the descriptions contradict that. FYI I use ADG1X headset plugged in to Elite2 controller. Please take a look at these in game settings, their descriptions, test them out and reply with your thoughts.
  3. Do we need to use port forwarding if console IP is already in the DMZ and shows open NAT?
  4. What settings and EQ do you use in Dolby Atmos?
  5. If a game makes you that frustrated and angry then the sensible thing to do is either stop caring so much and accept it for what it is…or simply stop playing. A game simply isn’t worth the stress it seems to be causing you, so if it’s no longer fun for you then stop doing it. You also have to put things in to perspective…there are literally millions of ppl playing COD on much worse hardware and connection set ups than yours, and the overwhelming majority just get on with it and play regardless of any lag/latency/delay issues…most of them won’t even know these issues exist let alone try to do anything about it. And with that being the case, there is literally nothing that you can do to achieve the perfect connection all of the time because all things are not equal in online gaming due to the variety of hardware and connections to the game. If you’ve done the best you can to minimise any disadvantage in terms of hardware and connection, then the only guaranteed way to deal with it if you don’t like it is either don’t play or adjust your play style accordingly. Ultimately, just try to enjoy playing the game…and when you don’t enjoy it any longer, then stop.
  6. Why are you always asking about these kind of things instead of just playing on your regional servers with geo filter to prevent higher pings? Are you trying to circumvent SBMM?
  7. Disabling AdBlocker appears to have resolved the issue…at least on the few websites that I can remember had this issue. I will continue to monitor and post back if the issue isn’t fully resolved.
  8. I’ve been experiencing this exact same problem on MacBook and iPhone. I have to disable wifi on iPhone and use personal hotspot to work around the problem when it happens on MacBook. Will try disabling Ad-Blocker.
  9. Thanks Liam 👍
  10. Ok I’ll try them out. Do you know which tag should be used…or both?
  11. Ok will do. Thanks Liam 👍
  12. I haven’t played Xbox for ages but having just updated to latest R2 DumaOS, I’m now seeing “QoS Tagging Settings” in XSX Network Settings. Do I need to do anything with these tags, what do they do and would they provide any benefit? The options are DSCP or WMM Tagging. Edit: after a quick Google, it sounds like these options are similar to QoS on R2, so I’m presuming it’s best to use one or the other rather than both…or neither?
  13. I’ve just updated to latest R2 DumaOS version, and still unable to get IPv6 connection on wired XSX…although an IPv6 address has just now appeared in R2 Device Manager after running speed test on XSX. Edit: confirmed XSX is still only connecting via IPv4 in XSX Network Settings (as per image someone else posted above). Edit2: same result when connecting via R2 wifi (ISP is BT).
  14. The best I can get on my LG 27GP850 monitor is 1440p 120Hz, and I’m more than happy with that tbh (I can’t justify the extra spend on a 4K monitor at the moment). Could you confirm your wire connections for all devices when using the USB to Optical DAC converter please. From what I’ve read, the support for third party USB audio devices is pretty much non existent for Xbox Series X. At the moment I’m thinking the Audeze Penrose X headphones may be the simplest solution (although not the cheapest) to get better audio.
  15. @Mobel Thanks for the info. What amp would you recommend for use sign Xbox Series X? I used to have an Astro Mixamp with A40s but think they are very much over rated. edit: worth mentioning that the Xbox Series X and my LG27GP850 monitor don’t have optical out so the EQs on Astro Mixamp wouldn’t work properly as far as I’m aware (or from what I’ve read).
  16. I use the ADG1X plugged directly in to Xbox Elite 2 controller. I thought the sound was ok but wasn’t as amazing as some have made out with the supposedly excellent footstep directional audio. I tried both in game headset EQs, and also with Dolby Atmos on/off…and I couldn’t really tell much difference with either. Would I be better off buying a mixamp or should the ADG1X be fine on it’s own plugged directly in to Elite2 controller? edit: for anyone considering the Steel Series Arctis 9X, I would recommend avoiding unless you like your sound randomly cutting out mid game with the poor connection.
  17. How are you guys progressing with a work around solution or fix? I‘ve basically quit playing the game now as most of my games were on high ping US servers with latency and desync. Not fun at all and not worth my time.
  18. A bit of a minor update which may help…I’ve been recording all my server details (just ping and location) as I load in to each game and as part of that I also either deny or allow servers in geo filter. I’m based in the UK so therefore I allow both EU and deny all US servers. There are obviously a lot of server addresses but now that I’m approx 80 games in to this testing, I believe that I may be starting to yield results. What I’ve found a few times now is that when a US server is found and it attempts to load map, the process is halted and then fails to connect. This has only been happening on games where I can see on the geo filter map that it is trying to connect to a US server. Admittedly this isn’t an exact science and may not even be entirely correct, but I’ve connected to EU servers in 83% of my games and I’m now seeing US servers being denied. This is still a relatively small test sample so far, so I’ll continue to allow or deny…but this may be a way for the R2 geo filter to protect ourselves from high ping servers.
  19. Results so far: Total games played: 45 EU servers: 38 (84.4%) US servers: 7 (15.6%) Quick Play games played: 37 EU servers: 31 (83.8%) US servers: 6 (16.2%) Ranked games played: 8 EU servers: 7 (87.5%) US servers: 1 (12.5%) Clearly these tests are heavily weighted towards Quick Play at the moment…simple reason being is that I am solo queuing (as all my friends have quit playing) and I always warm up in Quick Play, so I’m usually too pissed off with the game due to bad connection and desync that I haven’t put myself in to Ranked. We also have to factor in time of day as 40 out of 45 games were played in off peak hours (ie after midnight GMT), so I need to play test more games in peak hours.
  20. I play tested both Quick Play and Ranked, and there isn’t any difference in server selection patterns from what I’ve seen so far. I’ve play tested about 50 games so far and will happily post up my findings, but one thing we know about this game is that it is consistently inconsistent so probably needs more testing.
  21. @Zippy Just done some more play tests… Used the same rule and set CC to 20% (13.8Mbps) and 5% (0.9Mbps), but before playing I powered down and rebooted both my router and R2. I don’t know if it was the QoS or rebooting my equipment but the game felt a lot crisper in these games than it has done for the last week or so. I was connected to EU servers for all games at 20ms apart from one game on Washington DC server at 85ms. Got the occasional desync moment but wasn’t literally all game as it has been. It was an improvement but I don’t know why it was better.
  22. @Zippy Yeah I absolutely agree…I have literally no confidence or faith in 343i. They are a joke of a company as far as I’m concerned, and I don’t really care for their pathetic excuses or lame explanations. My game degraded significantly after the geo filter ban update last week, and it’s been consistently inconsistent since. I’m not sure if it’s getting any worse or degrading…it’s just consistently bad, however I do note that other players in the same lobby are clearly not having the same issue or are benefiting from what I’m experiencing. It literally doesn’t make any sense at all. My understanding is that they are including telemetry tools in next weeks update to collate data, so any kind of fix is still likely to take weeks/months…it most certainly won’t be next week so I don’t hold out any hope that there will be any significant improvement…if any at all. The only thing that has changed my end is that I’m now playing on my old Xbox One X as my Series X kept shutting itself down whilst playing Halo Infinite (campaign and MP). Obviously the XSX has better performance but I don’t think it is that significant to impact the gameplay or connection the way it is at the moment. That being said, I won’t be able to test or prove otherwise until I buy another XSX.
  23. @Zippy Just play tested 5 games with that TP rule and can’t say whether it was any better or worse tbh. There was still desync and the game just feels off…even to the extent that I had to dial down my stick sensitivity (feels like aim assist is totally non existent). TBH I’m not sure anything we do our end will improve things significantly to override the (un)known issues with their servers. All 5 games were on Amsterdam servers at approx 20ms ping with QoS disabled. The first game was JIP and didn’t register any packets but it did for the remaining 4 games (the 4th game was also JIP and did register). Packets for the all games: Download packets: 106699 Upload packets: 105831 I don’t know what any of that means tbh. I’ll do further tests later with QoS enabled.
  24. @Zippy Ok thanks. So my understanding is just set up that one rule without QoS? I’ll get it set up as detailed above and let you know 👍
  25. @Zippy these are the ports that I set up after Googling ports for Halo Infinite on Xbox One X (same ports also apply to Xbox Series X): TCP: 3074 UDP: 88, 500, 3074-3075, 3544, 4500 I may as well just use Duma Classfied as there’s no improvement at all from my test games so far (in fact I’d say last night was the worst so far and I couldn’t even finish kills on players with no shields, and feels like I’m dying faster than I should with BR bursts being received in packets or single grenades with full shields).
