  1. Hi @Netduma Fraser. Here’s a link to another BS article that follows up and reports on this, and includes link to Unysheks original Twitter post: https://piunikaweb.com/2022/01/25/halo-infinite-geo-filtering-system-exploit-causing-high-ping-on-matches/ The comments are quite alarming from people that don’t know what they are talking about…and I still don’t know what a “bad actor” is supposed to mean! 😂
  2. SWAT = Tactical Slayer 😂
  3. Your Geo looks pretty much identical to mine. I play on Xbox Series X and it was happening in Team Slayer, Attrition and SWAT. The only way I could get a game was to restart Halo then it would happen again after one game…then fully reset console then it would happen again…then I just gave up and did a bit of campaign. Hopefully it will be back to normal tomorrow evening, but I’ll post again if issues persist.
  4. @Netduma Fraser Unyshek posted about it on his Twitter calling geo filter users “bad actors” and essentially cheaters. This has also been picked up by at least one Halo YouTuber who states that there are 3 methods of cheating…walls, aimbot and geo filter. From what I’ve heard they are releasing an update in February to address cheating issues so that may or may not involve players using geo filter. It just so happens that I’m currently experiencing issues trying to find a game in all playlists on Dublin/Amsterdam servers…it just fails to progress at 0% loading map. I’m going to presume it’s because it’s 3am and everyone in Europe should be asleep…but I hope they have released a stealth patch just by coincidence! 😂
  5. @Netduma Fraser there’s talk about 343i banning players for use of geo filter having publicly announced that they consider it to be cheating and anyone using geo filter is a “bad actor” (whatever that is supposed to mean). Are Netduma aware of this and doing anything to potentially counter geo filter no longer working in the game if they patch the game to prevent geo filter working?
  6. Well my XSX was delivered today so just looking now for a suitable monitor to use it with. Apparently XSX doesn’t work properly with all functions on some 1440p monitors so now looking at the Dell S2721DFG as you to disable freesync and reduce to 8-bit colour on the LG I mentioned above to get 1440p 120fps. I’ve checked my current monitor on Xbox One X and the VRR option is greyed out, and it can only do 1080p anyway so it’s time for a monitor upgrade before I start playing on the XSX.
  7. Thanks Zippy. That makes sense…what doesn’t make sense is if 343i didn’t include VRR in the game. How do you know this definitely hasn’t been included in the game as I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere else…and it would seem negligent for a AAA game to have this left out? Having researched frame rates, I do believe that I get symptoms of low frame rate…whether that be sometimes jerky game play, players flickering slightly as they move, long melee lunge, poor hit reg, instant kills from front melee, dying in fewer bullets than expected, aiming reticle losing track of target particularly when I’ve broken their shields, etc; …but I’ve just put that down to their crappy servers and desync which seems to be being discussed a lot. My monitor doesn’t display what refresh rate it’s running at, but I will check if there are any settings to show this next time I play. On a side note, I’ve decided to treat myself to an Xbox Series X for Christmas, and I know my monitor can’t only do 50-75Hz so I may also buy a new monitor capable of 120fps. From what I’ve researched today, Halo Infinite doesn’t run 4K 120fps (due to frame rate being lowered in quality mode) so it seems pointless going to the expense of buying a HDMI 2.1 monitor so I’m more inclined to buy a 1440p for half the price that is capable of running at 120fps in performance mode. I’m thinking of buying the LG UltraGear 27GP850 as it seems to be a highly rated monitor, and capable of providing 120fps with the Xbox Series X.
  8. Ok thanks Liam. I’m still getting the issue so I’ll check this evening if the issue resolves itself as it did last time (it hasn’t been 24 hours yet).
  9. Could that simply because sometimes I have to connect via 4G rather than my R2 wifi? Presumably my public IP will change when I switch from BT broadband via R2 and 4G connection via Vodafone? Also I sometimes post/browse using my MacBook so I presume that also has a different public IP. For the record, I’ve never had any similar issues with any other websites…it’s just the Netduma website and forum. Would I be able to extend the public lease in my BT router settings or would I have to contact their next to useless broadband support team? Also does this public IP only apply to my iPhone or does it cover all my devices?
  10. Sounds like the servers have been up and down for the last few days but friends are online playing now ok. Should also be 1GB update to install today.
  11. It’s happened again. I’ll send my IP to Fraser as requested.
  12. Thanks for the info Zippy. What is VRR and how does it effect games? I'm using Xbox One X and have the game set to performance as I believe this is supposed to prioritise game performance over graphics? I'm also using a 1080p monitor so doubt I'm even getting 60fps (there's no way to tell how many frames we get on Xbox as far as I'm aware).
  13. Hi Fraser. It seems to have resolved itself now after about 24 hours. I haven’t changed anything my end. Strange.
  14. Yeah I found the option and the ping appears as a small number in the top right corner during the game. I’ve tested this afternoon and the figures displayed pretty much match what I’m seeing on the R2. If these ping values are correct then any issues in the game must simply be due to poor game coding, poor net coding, differences in frame rates and other players connections…examples being poor hit reg, inconsistent melee and melee lunge, shot around corners, etc; …all very symptomatic of latency. On a side note, is there any reason why I can’t access the Netduma website or forum on my iPhone when connected via my R2? It works perfectly fine if I turn off wifi and access via 4G so it’s obviously not a Safari issue, and it works perfectly fine on my MacBook.
  15. Hi Liam. Apparently there is a setting in the “UI” menu in Halo settings which I wasn’t aware of so I’ll check that out and monitor for a few days. I’ve checked on Halo Waypoint and it’s pretty clear that I’m not the only one with these kind of issues…but it could be something as simple as the servers or netcode being crap. I’ll post any information once I’ve done the ping tests/monitoring.
  16. I don’t know what options PC, XSS or XSX players have, but I’m playing on Xbox One X and there isn’t an option for Network Statistics in Halos settings menu (in or out of game). I’m totally reliant on the DumaOS to provide me with that information.
  17. @Netduma Liam Please find attached screenshots as requested. As you will see, this is a day time test taken at approx 3pm GMT and I'm still connecting to US servers in Chicago. The server ping shows 11ms which is clearly wrong, and the second image shows ping heatmap to that server to be 106ms. I've gone from going positive KD most games to barely being able to get a kill within the last 24 hours...the game is literally unplayable like this. Shoot first, die first in a fraction of the usual Halo TTK isn't fun or a fair game. Please also note that in the ping box on the Geo Filter screenshot that I am unable to access the options to name, block or deny the server (these screenshots were taken full screen on MacBook using Chrome).
  18. Hi Liam. I’ve recently updated so running the latest .394 firmware version, and followed all the installation guidance as per the thread on here. The US server shows as being allowed despite the fact that it should be blocked by Geo Filter. Strangely other US servers do flash up and they have the yellow triangle blocked icon. I’ll try to capture relevant screenshots for you. In the meantime, are there any settings that I could change to ensure the Geo Filter is enforced? I can’t work out now Halo Infinite servers are circumventing the Netduma Geo Filter.
  19. Isn't that how the Geo Filter is supposed to work?! If you have Geo Filter set to EU only and the game connects your lobby to US servers, and your friends aren't using a Geo Filter then they will obviously connect to the US server and you won't.
  20. I haven't had any issues with Geo Filter working with Halo Infinite until tonight. I have set the Geo Filter to UK only (Dublin) to avoid connecting to Amsterdam or US. Tonight the gameplay was horrific and could barely get any kills, so I checked DumaOS and low and behold...I'm connecting to US servers over and over again. This is one of them: Dedicated Server: trdonorthcentralusx1vmss.ipv6.microsoft.com.akadns.net I'm using Chrome for DumaOS admin and for whatever, in this latest update I can't even block these servers as the screen is offset to the right where you would usually name, block or deny servers. Why is this happening and how am I meant to block servers if I can't access the options? More importantly, why are Halo Infinite servers seemingly circumventing the Netduma Geo Filter?
  21. So is this for all platforms or just works on PC? I play on Xbox One X so would be useful to know if also works on console.
  22. Would that cause UK WZ servers not to show up at all on DumasOS ping heatmap though?
  23. Have the UK Warzone servers been turned off? When I have just the geo filter covering the UK, I can’t find a game (usually after midnight) so have to expand the region, and the ping heat map is no longer showing UK servers since I first checked at approx 7pm. I’ve resynced the cloud but no change. Have Activision actually starting turning off UK servers?
  24. Yeah that’s what I figured. May be the player population is dropping off as they never used to offline the UK servers at all.
