Found mislocated servers? Let us know here!
K0NSPIRACY replied to Netduma Alex's topic in Call of Duty Support
I don’t play much at weekends but I can confirm that I’m unable to find games on UK servers after approx 2am GMT during the week. I usually have Geo Filter set to 200 miles just to cover the UK but I have to increase to 500 miles after 2am and it usually finds games on French servers. -
Found mislocated servers? Let us know here!

I don’t know if this is the right place to post it, but I couldn’t connect at all to UK servers after 2:30am last night searching for duos games. Geo Filter was set to 200 miles and had to increase to 500 miles where it found servers in France. -
You have similar speeds to myself. Are your speeds restricted in the QoS sliders or in bandwidth allocation? What other settings do you use and what platform do you play on?
-
How do you get on with your hit reg in Warzone? My understanding is still that if you have congestion control set to “never” then that effectively over rides the slider values. @Netduma Fraser could you confirm please?
-
That’s my take on it too. If “never” is selected then surely that means congestion control is effectively off.
-
No worries...I may have misinterpreted your reply slightly too! 😎 So basically ping is still more important than download/upload speed...however does that mean in your second example that player B could have an advantage over player A (due to lag compensation caused by ping rather than internet speeds) in a gunfight even if player A had a better experience interacting with in game items such as crates and doors?
-
If that was the case then wouldn’t we all have perfectly good in game connections and all be on the same playing field in terms of connection and performance, with no talk of lag, latency and lag compensation? If you continue further down that path then it mean that we wouldn’t be looking for solutions to our issues such as buying a Netduma router.
-
@Netduma Liam @Netduma Fraser Just a thought so I may well be wrong... On the R2 I’m basically only searching UK server lobbies with Geo Filter and my ping shows as 10-25ms on auto ping server (obviously this is a bit higher on the in game ping display which I think is a load of crap on Xbox). Clearly this means I have what most players would believe to be a very good connection to the game. As such, could it be that the hit registration issues I’m experiencing could be essentially down to me being punished for having a good connection and suffering due to other players having lag compensation? If that is the case, then would I be better off searching for games on servers further afield in Europe...or may be Saudi Arabia? It used to be that many years ago I suffered in games due to having really slow internet (literally 2-4Mbps), so with all this talk on here about throttling our connections, has online gaming now evolved to the point where that is now in reverse and having a poor connection to the server gives you an advantage...or players with good connection are at a disadvantage? Your thoughts please.

Yeah just to clarify...the R2 on 3.0.179 was completely dropping connection to the router so kept losing internet connection to all devices. The R2 is wired to my ISP router, so it wasn’t a wifi issue for the R2 or my devices, and simple fault finding shows my ISP router was still connected to internet and all my devices would connect successfully if I switched them over.
-
Strange. I was getting regular internet disconnections on .179 so that’s why I don’t want to rollback. It’s been relatively stable on .205 for me.
-
Ok thanks. I'll test current settings later this evening and post feedback on here. I'll test your suggestions tomorrow if it's still terrible. Which firmware version are you using? 3.0.205 or 3.0.179?
-
If you're experiencing the same issues that I am but you're on v3.0.179 firmware then that may suggest that upgrading firmware to v3.0.205 isn't the issue. I can confirm that I also tried the recommended port forwarding rules for COD, however it was absolutely terrible for me so deleted the rules and just used the "Games Console" rule. This did not improve things either so I have done a factory reset and disable all TP rules (only the defaults are listed and turned off which are DumaOS Classified Games and Work At Home). I have also turned off UPnP as requested by Fraser, haven't touched the Bandwidth Allocation flower or share excess settings, and haven't touched the sliders (currently set to "never" by default). I will test later this evening and post feedback on here.
-
I've just done a factory reset so everything is now back to default. Do you mean Congestion Control "auto-setup" or "auto-enable"? Do you mean disable "share excess" for both download and upload? I'm going to test with no QoS and no TP tonight to see if hit detection issues persist, then will try your other suggestions.
-
Internet speeds: 63 down and 18 up Congestion control: I have tested with off and set to 20% and 5% (as per instructions from Fraser to get best Ping Under Load), however there is no clear difference and I often experience issues with XBL chat when its active. There is very little difference in performance if I'm playing solos with or without congestion control on or off. Bandwidth allocation: I tested this yesterday using 2Mbps for both up and down (as recommended by someone on here) with both shared excess options on/off, however I couldn't get XBL chat to work at all so immediately reset distribution back to default. Traffic prioritisation: my game went to shit when I added the recommended port forward rules for Xbox One. I have removed the rules and just have Games Console on but I would say it still feels as bad as when I had those port forward rules. UPNP: I have UPNP enabled. I tried to disable yesterday but couldn't get XBL chat to work so had to reset everything to chat to friends. Basically at the moment, my hit detection is crap whatever settings I use on the R2 at the moment so I'm now just prioritising which settings enable XBL chat to work...which basically means not using any QoS settings (apart from Games Console TP) and UPNP on.

Hi Liam. Yeah I upgraded last week and followed all the advise including doing factory reset. I’d prefer to not go through the downgrade process as I was having regular issues with the R2 dropping connection to my router (and therefore losing internet) on previous version and the beta (and that hasn’t happened yet on the latest version).
-
My hit reg has been absolutely dog shit for the last few days...and pretty much since updating to the latest R2 DumaOS version. Marshmallow bullets, blatant sniper shots not registering at all, shoot first/die first, clearly way behind other players...I’m sure a lot of you have experienced this kind of crap. It’s never been this bad for me as it is now. Are there any settings proven to improve this for Xbox One X?
-
I don't think you can pay for the whole area to be upgraded to FTTP...that's the responsibility of BT Openreach. May be if I win the lottery...in which case I'd be moving country and doubt I'd be wasting my time playing Xbox! 😂
-
Yeah unfortunately we don’t have cable or FTTP in my area...and it’s not realistic to buy a new house for better internet at the moment! 😂
-
Yep, but the problem is that all other ISPs all hire and use BT equipment, and all send out BT Openreach engineers (or subcontractors) for any broadband issues...so basically you’re with BT whether you like it or not. As an example, I will be free to leave my contract if they can’t fix the fault but all I will achieve is moving the fault to a different company (such as back to Vodafone) and paying £10 less per month.

I've just had to take the R2 out of the equation for now as it appears to had another brain fart, and devices won't connect to the internet despite the WAN IP and DMZ not changing, and my ISP router still online. I've now connected all my devices to the ISP router, and had to remove the static IP from the Xbox to get online. I'm going to test using the ISP router for a couple of days to see if it rules out the R2 from the party chat issue. Also, despite the BT technical support being completely clueless...I can now confirm that my line and router does support IPv6 as my console and MacBook are now listed as IPv6 in device list on ISP router, and my Xbox now shows as connected via "IPv4 & IPv6"...I don't quite understand why it says connected via both but it does. It will be interesting to test performance playing Warzone without the R2 in the mix later this evening.

Yeah it sucks...the FTTC broadband infrastructure in the UK is generally poor. I have been told in my area that we are still using ADSL copper cable, and there is a section near the local cabinet which is aluminium (both are not fit for purpose for high speed fibre broadband apparently). In addition, the engineer stated that due to local residents in the area having different levels of broadband speeds (ie ADSL, Fibre1 or Fibre2) all going down the same lines, these different speeds operate on different frequencies and that causes a lot of chatter between the lines...alternatively it could be interference from some equipment in another household anywhere between the cabinet and my house. Either way, I'm escalating this complaint and will leave them if not resolved as I'm now paying more for the same crap broadband and issues than I did before so I may as well move back and pay less for the same crap.
-
What kind of issues would having IPv6 enabled on my equipment without having IPv6 enabled on my line cause?
-
Do you experience the XBL party chat bug on your R2?
-
I'm in the UK and have recently switched to BT. I have had two engineers visit my house in the last couple of weeks due to an ongoing issue with download speeds decreasing significantly during the evening hours (approx 6pm - 11pm), and they haven't found any errors on the line. I have another engineer coming tomorrow to further investigate this fault so I will ask about IPv6. The only thing I know for sure is that even though IPv6 appears to be currently enabled on both BT router and R2, the Xbox is using IPv4...so I can only presume that my line doesn't actually have IPv6, even though a statement online from BT suggests that all lines in the UK now use IPv6. I will get confirmation either way tomorrow.

Just some feedback on these settings...I removed all previous settings including port prioritisation and configured the settings as detailed above. I can only speak from my personal experience but I have to say that it was the worst night of playing Warzone that I have experienced in a long time. By this I'm talking terrible hit reg and blatant shoot first/die first...it was that bad that I actually went 6 games without being able to get a kill (so sufficient time to say it wasn't just one bad game). Whatever those settings did felt like I was at a massive disadvantage and you could genuinely feel it in game. Whether it was a funky server night and lots of players had issues I don't know, but it wasn't until I disabled the Geo Filter and QoS settings, and switched lobby host to a friend that any kind of normality was resumed.
