Firmware 3.2 for XR500
Netduma Liam replied to Stilts29's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Yes, that will be in there too as far as I'm aware! -
Welcome to the forum! Can you please try going to the three-line menu in Ping Heatmap, click 'Resync cloud'. If that still doesn't work, can you then go to System Information and download a copy of the logs file from the logs panel submenu, then send those over to us?
-
OK that's interesting, can you possibly provide a screenshot of the PPPoE Passthrough page? We may be able to work out together if/how we can configure that for you.
-
DMZ is typically the best solution as it essentially sends all traffic straight to the R2, it's unlikely this would cause any issues, though you could experiment with using bridge/modem mode if your ISP supports it. Does your ISP require you to use PPPoE in order to get connected to the internet? Did you have to fill in some PPPoE credentials in the R2s WAN settings when you first set it up? If not, I don't think PPPoE passthrough would be relevant here. What indication did you get that suggested double NAT might be the issue? DMZ should resolve any NAT issues you experience, so i'd be a little surprised if you were still having that issue.

Correct Setup (Help Required)
Netduma Liam replied to alex.devine's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
I don't think that'll make much difference I'm afraid. Are the packet counters in Traffic Prio increasing when the Sky Glass is streaming? Even when the rules are disabled? -
Is everything still OK on other devices that connect via ethernet, it's just the PC that's having problems right?
-
Watch the map when they try to connect to you, you should see a blocked icon on the map. Click that icon and manually allow it, they should be able to connect to you then.
-
True, though they should resolve that as the game gets a little older so it won't be a problem for long!
-
Ah OK yeah a log might be helpful if you can grab one. Could you also please try going to the DumaOS interface -> Settings -> Setup -> LAN Setup and set the minimum DHCP value to .100. After that, reserve an IP address for each device on the network. Make sure you give them IPs from .2 to .99. See if you're still having disconnections after that.

Firmware 3.2 for XR500
Netduma Liam replied to Stilts29's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
We've been testing the bug fixes since the last test internally to verify they're going to work before getting another build. It's all looking good so we're now waiting on the next build from NETGEAR. Once we're happy with this one we'll go ahead and release it here and on the NG forums as a sort of 'beta' firmware so it doesn't have to wait on NG testing. There's been some issues with the XR1000 which I need to catch up with the team on later, I'll update the firmware progress article once we've discussed that. -

Do you know which firmware version you're currently running on the XR1000? Have you factory reset it since it last upgraded to the latest version?

Correct Setup (Help Required)
Netduma Liam replied to alex.devine's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
That should be fine to be fair, but yeah test it with all Traffic Prio disable and let us know how you get on. -
They may not have been presenting themselves at the time but it could still have restored an error that could cause Ping Heatmap to fail over time or after a reboot. Perhaps try rebooting again and give it a couple of minutes, does it load properly after that?
-
Welcome to the forum! Where are you seeing that error you mention? Do you get it after a particular action? Can you let us know what that is? Can you try disabling IPv6 from the WAN and LAN settings and see if you can then connect the Xbox?
-
Since the setup, just give the R2 a quick reboot and see if you have a connection again after that.
-
OK, so the game client is probably trying to get to an authentication server that Geo-filter is blocking. When you're stuck and can't find a game, there should be a blocked icon on the Geo-filter map. If you manually allow that, do you then get into a game? For QoS, are the packet counters next to the rule you've added for you PC increasing when you're playing a game? Were you running the speed-tests from the same device that you were playing on? Can you try from a mobile phone instead or something? Ping Heatmap is updated for CoD now, resync again and you should see it.
-
Great answer above. On your questions: Would you be able to send a screenshot of the completed Benchmark test and perhaps your QoS settings too? That might offer some more insight into the varying results. Could you please try going to Settings -> Setup -> LAN Setup and set the minimum DHCP value to .100. Then reserve IPs for every device on the network. Give them IP from .2 to .99. After that, see if the connection still drops. Did you have any other traffic running at the time of the Ping Plotter? Even if you were just watching a YouTube video in the background or something, it could interrupt the ping plotter and drop a packet or two. I agree with Zippy's comments on this, well put!

Hey, you can checkout this guide for that: https://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000087492--dumaos-optimal-settings-guide-hybrid-vpn
-
Can you send an updated screenshot of how QoS is currently configured?
-
Welcome to the forum! If you resync cloud from the three-line menu in the top left of the Ping Heatmap map, that should be working now.

Ping Heatmap suggestion/issue thread
Netduma Liam replied to Netduma Alex's topic in Netduma R2 Support
It should be back up again, resync cloud and check now. Good idea, though ideally we'd rather improve how we update Ping Heatmap so people don't need to be notifying us that servers are down all the time! We're working on that currently. -
I don't think that's anything to do with BitDefender, that's probably just the browser noticing it's using HTTP. If you click 'Advanced' the 'Continue anyway' or whatever it says, you should see that any more. For Geo-filter, what's the actual problem you're having? Is it not blocking anything or are you unable to get into a game when you search for one? Your settings for QoS look good for the most part, though I would suggest manually overriding what the auto-detect speeds gives you if there's any doubt and set them to what you realistically expect to be getting from your ISP. Can you go to Ping Heatmap and click the submenu in the top left of the map, then resync cloud? Do you get any errors? Are you able to ping any games other than MW2 after that? Are you getting any errors in Connection Benchmark? What do they read if so?
