There are only two firmware versions I believe and the latest one just has a security change so shouldn't differ much from the other version

Thanks for your help it seems it is a game bug and nothing to do with the network I tried what you said and couldn't find any blocked servers so I tried unplugging the R1 and after a few games I got the error again so it must have just been coincidence that it happened when I used the R1 and didn't without I think if I had tried for longer without I would have got the error and wouldn't have wasted your time again thanks very much for your help

yeah and kinda the point of a beta is to test and FIX things that are not working not ignore a problem that's been there since the first duamos 3.0 firmware rendering the router completely useless to anyone who plays on xbox and pc 

has the Xbox party chat been fixed in this firmware or has it at least been investigated surely a workaround is possible e.g. opening certain ports or something. without Xbox party chat it makes the r1 completely useless for a large portion of owners and in my opinion should be given priority

I don't think you can pay for the whole area to be upgraded to FTTP...that's the responsibility of BT Openreach. May be if I win the lottery...in which case I'd be moving country and doubt I'd be wasting my time playing Xbox! 😂

Nothing changes with that. Think of the R2 as an addition to the DumaOS lineup. We’ll keep adding more and more testers to the R1 beta, and we’re working with Netgear to do the same with theirs. 
 
Biggest difference with the R2 is it’s all ours from the bottom up. This means we can get new firmwares to the R2 in the shortest time possible. 

What does this mean for the users waiting on the 3.0 beta 

Tried this and it works great does any body know if this can be done in openwrt as well so I can do the same with my other router if this is against forum rules please accept my apologies in advance
