SBMM is Back With A Vengence.

Yea i noticed this the other day, thought it was just me. I haven't seen anybody below a 300 spm or a 2 kd over the past 8 hours of gameplay.  Needless to say it has been a grind, I don't mind having to try hard sometimes, but honestly this seems worse than AW for me.  To make matters worse, it won't let me play on my favorite dedicated server any more so my pings have been double and sometimes tripled.

I guess I'm one of those people that say "you don't like playing against equal or better competition" to me that's what it boils down too.Everyone says "it doesn't bother me to play against better people" well if it doesn't why is everyone bitching about it then ? And you can't say because of connections as we all have dumas,so really what's left ? I'll tell you...people wanna dominate lobbies and could care less if those lobbies are filled with people that are new or just plain terrible at the game.Do you think that makes you a good player to crush players that are a quarter of your skill level,it doesn't.

Tmart said it in the video himself "no one wants to play in sweaty lobbies all the time".Well if you got a 3.0 KD and a really high SPM shouldn't you be playing people that are really good ? I got zero respect for people that are great at the game but only if they play noobs. That would be like me competing in a powerlifting meet against beginners, winning the meet and then telling everyone how I crushed it at the meet,it has no merit.

And again this is just my opinion and most will disagree.

I play with friends that have very high k/d and scores per minute.  We like a good try hard game and the challenge.  We do value the win over k/d.  However, we don't like them with EVERY single game.  Games that are easier allow us to work with other weapons, challenges, specialists, etc.

Edit:  SBMM should never take priority over connection.  As AW proved, SBMM only causes poor connections, longer times waiting for matches, reverse boosting and people constantly quitting matches.

I actually have to agree with you. Keep the playing field even. But not at the expense of connection of course.

When I party up with friends they all are way better players than me with much higher spm, I find I do not get many kills as by the time I arrive my team mates have killed everybody.

However one thing I have noticed over the last few days is that 1 or 2 players are totally dominating lobbies.

And this isn't as some whinging youtubers would have it because all the other players are totally crap.

I have been playing COD for over 7 years now and the last few days would think I had forgotten how to play or somebody had chopped my thumbs off.

I mean kdr in tdm of 1.25, 0.56, 0.25, 0.89 and 1. I have been that player in the lobby with 2 kills and 12 deaths and it is not because I do not know how to play the game.

Something else is amiss somewhere.

I tweaked my settings on the R1 and the last 2 games 3.33 followed by a 2.14.

I just wish they would stop fucking changing shit with these "hot fixes" all it does is fuck something else up.

Rant over, nothing to see here please move along now.

Hey Fuzzy, I agree with some things you mention...  But I have to disagree on some things as well, especially when you are comparing it to your lifting meets, or really anything competitive.  Public cod is not meant to be competitive cod, never has and in my opinion never should be.

I am probably a top tier player and I truly love the challenge of facing high level opposition, nothing is quite as rewarding as winning against people of high skill levels.  However I think it is far to much of a grind to do this every single game, when I come home from work and often times I just want to relax, not have to go play competitive cod tourneys.  That's not why I buy COD, I don't very many people do.

Anyway I'm sure there is a happy medium yet to be found, not to many easy lobbies, not to many difficult lobbies.  I wouldn't mind them tuning matchmaking to something along the lines of AW, but what they just implemented was far more challenging than any Arena game or League Play game I've ever been in.  It was fun for a while, but I'm relieved it's gone.  If I want to play competitive I'll play in Arena mode, that's why it's there right?

Also even with my Netduma, after they tweaked matchmaking my local dedicated server was no where to be found and I was forced into long wait times (I mean like 5 mins) or play on less than desirable pings.

We can agree to disagree, you play enough COD to know it's competitive, weather we want it to be or not.And if your a top tier player, what enjoyment can you get from crushing in a lobby ? That was the comparison I was making to a meet against beginning lifters,to me I want to face the best lifters every training session and every meet because if there's no one to push me I don't get better,no matter what it is your doing, work.sports etc.

Like I said that's just the way I'm built and how I do things, doesn't mean it's for everyone. But I understand what your saying and why you feel that way.

I think I am in the minority when I say that I loved the sbmm in AW, After I got the R1 that is. Towards the end of it's life if I turned the geo filter off I would get put into lobbies the other side of the planet with horrendous ping and connection.

With it on I would be put into low ping lobbies with really close games most of the time and to me that is fun.

Blops 3 for me since launch has been hit and miss, I was going positive most games even on objective based games and playing the objective, then for the last few nights it has been garbage.

Made a few minor tweaks on the R1 and had some great fun last night laughing right up to the last blood soaked wall from a head shot.

In my humble opinion sbmm has its place but not at the expense of connection.

I had a really bad games last night, I had lobbies with low ping around 30 ms but seemed very spiky, and always seemed to drop out and be searching for a host/ping.

I am just trying to get the camo for the AR's at the moment got gold on 2 working the 3rd one now.

Got the head for Nomad with the ghost like face mask, and running about with no perks, kill streaks and sometimes no attachments and it's fun fun fun :)

Have seen people dominate a lobby, and then the next game they are nowhere, I have come to the conclusion that the constant factor in these games is ME, but I know I am not as bad as the game sometimes portrays me, but I enjoy playing (most of the time) as it is I mainly play solo as the guys that I know of the same age group, none have a games console :)

I know weird or what !!! ;)

The enjoyment I get out of crushing a lobby is similar to the enjoyment I get out of watching a movie, it's just fun and relaxing.  I kind of view cod as I view how I play sports, sometimes I just go out to play with friends and relax and just have a good time (I always try but never very hard), other times I go out to compete and when I do that I have to try a lot harder, but it's very rewarding.

Anyway I'm sure this is just an issue where as you say, we can just agree to disagree.  And as I stated previously I don't mind AW matchmaking that everyone seemed to hate, but I feel they took the last matchmaking tweak to far.
