A7Legit Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 How're you liking the X7?I've only owned them for a short time really, but I love it, it's very flexible with everything you can do, I also purchased a new pair of headphones (Philips Fidelio X2) and they seem like a match made in gaming heaven. Music listening offers me so much, I can select and/or edit or even create/save presets for my preferred music listening style, which can be changed on the fly via a PC/MAC/Android or IOS device. For purist audiophile types this may not be what you'd buy but it's vast array of features and flexibility allow more options for more than just music, even though out of the box, this does offer a more neutral sound, that can be changed with the ability to change Opamps, something I haven't looked into yet. Movies, this is where things get so awesome and fast, I love that bass and the explosions but I don't want to lose clarity of glass shattering or not being able to hear background chatter because I want that bass, this allows me that. I like being able to set the amount of surround processing and so far I find it changes the experience each time I change something. If not for anything else, I enjoy being able to understand just how much goes into the audio side of movies, even the music in Star Wars and/or BTTF. Leaving games for last, this thing fu**ing rocks! Just as the Duma helps find you better lobbies in hope for that Duma smooth hit detection, games just offer so much more to hear, audio cues, explosions, reloads, and defined footsteps. COD AW is a game where I couldn't hear much of anything other than boost packs everywhere and my own footsteps, now I hear the enemy footsteps seconds before I see them run up on me. I hear reloads and enemy chatter from further than ever before and as if the Duma alone didn't have me being called a cheat, I get people telling me there's no way I could have known where they were when I turned around and shot them in their killcam. BO3, let me just say that I don't need awareness and I hear people with dead silence. BF4/BF:Hardline, OMG the amount of audio that went into these games that I just couldn't percieve before! Here's a picture I posted in another thread that shows some of the features: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CTgwJqNUEAAyuUN?format=pjpg&name=large All in all, I love it.

Sounds awesome and appreciate your review! I've been trying to get away from the Astro Mixamp for quite some time due to how I feel about Astro as a company. When the X7 launched, I couldn't justify the $350 price tag in addition to purchasing new headphones and an additional DAC. I'll keep my eye on the prices and if there's ever a sale, I'll pick one up. I'm really tired of using mixamps.

There's a Sound Blaster G5 coming soon, keep an eye on that, will offer the core features and will cost less.

fuzzy clam Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 The GT evo chairs come in a large size. My mate has one and he's a 6 foot 4 clam fisherman from Connecticut and he loves it. I'll check them out bags, thanks for the heads up.And you know I'm worried about my ass and legs fitting into the chair without breaking the sides off as that's what usually happens. So when that happens then I gotta wonder if I need to go to Jenny Craig...
