Battlefront... First Impressions

I had a very similar experience which was the final straw before deleting the beta.

Blops3 lagged for me in the beta but not as bad as this

Lag in both was bad for me, I'll be doing a review on my blog about them both soon. I don't think it will be a sparkling review based on what I have experienced so far. Maybe 2 or 3 times a match it feels ok but most of the games are like in the vid

The US servers I used were pretty decent. Between 20-30ms ping and not spikey. I suspect most of the lag issues people are dealing with are lag comp because people are playing with shitternet. I haven't tried today, but yesterday and Thursday I could not get a game of drop zone. Every time I'd get disconnected from the server during synchronization. I wish that would get sorted. Geo was off the entire time. Hoth was no problem. I'm not really too upset about the beta's performance. There are definitely some glitches they need to fix.

I believe you press l2 to aim and r2 to fire...........obviously after you hold l1 and r1 to activate power up

Just wondering are there many people playing titanfall on PC still? I haven't played it for ages as the same with bf4. Always struggling for kills yet annihilated quickly by the opposition.

hardly any. that game was such a disappointment. i had higher hopes, kind of like battlefront.

i would love is someone really developed a persistent online FPS that had great weapon depth and built up maps over time for a massive catalog of maps to play on, basically if CoD used the Ghosts engine and class setup and every map CoD ever put out and all the weapons i would be in heaven [well up to but not including AW]

It is not that the game is broken , It is like many games that have gone before it. Black ops 2 being a prime example. That game was fine at release for me but after the third patch became unplayable.

Mw3 some players loved it and yet others had a terrible time especially when getting host. (which for me was 90% of the time.)

Ghosts again was great for some but for the majority was a terrible game connection wise with horrendous lag.

Star Wars for me as I have shown in the video a few posts earlier is a terrible connection. This is not because of the country I live in as other UK folk are getting on just fine with it. It is not because of my internet connection as I have plenty of speed and available bandwidth to play video games online. Very low ping to google servers and no to very very low jitter.

I have no other router other than my R1 connected to my fibre connection so that is not to blame.

I included the video to show that I am actually on target unlike many people who complain about this kinda stuff but will never back it up with evidence.

The game however cannot be broken if it is working for many. I have no idea what the problem could be but like the many that have gone before it If it is the same at launch it will be going on Ebay quicker than a Yorkshire man can catch a penny falling from his pocket. Thus denying the publisher another full value sale.

Black Ops 3 will go the same way if it turns out to be a total turd as well like it's previous iterations.

I wish all the best to those that can get good connections on the game I really do.

Oh and sorry for the wall of text. lol

Peace out yall.

You're so right mate it works for some and not for others it's just that simple,I can play a game of AW with my bro who lives around the corner on the same fibre cabinet as me with the same internet speeds with the same isp (sky) and in game he says connection is super strong and wrecks everyone where I cant even hit a target because the lag is that bad yet we have the same low ping

What I have noticed with non connecting bullets is....

Certain angles like you are up on a rock in drop zone and you fire down at a player just above the rock face on screen your bullets connect but the game see's it as you are hitting the rock and it does not connect.

Head glitcher's that are showing there torso, if you hit them in the chest the game is registering that only there head is above the rock and you get no damage from that.

Sometimes on my screen I am behind the rock for say 6 seconds waiting for them to run past but I must be visible on their screen as I die through the rock.

I still love drop zone but there is a few bugs to sort there.

I have no idea why maybe Iain can explain why?

The group i play with some people are having terrible Lag where others aren't the difference being Laggy people are on BT where the non Laggy people are on Virgin media. We actually found that its the opposite in COD where the BT connection is better than the Virgin media connection.

I understand that different IP's will route your connection differently but does it make that much of a difference?

My friends in London who have Virgin cable and have bad latency caused by the normal over subscribed model Virgin like to run, they were complaining of I can not kill anyone.

A friend ended up on the other team (Virgin cable owner) and could I buggery kill him and he is not a great player by all means and he would admit to that.

I tried the walker assualt last night to see if the server had improved but nope bullets just go straight through i think about 30 per cent registered where as on drop zone on a different server everything is spot on. Otherwise i'm enjoying drop zone was also hoping dice would open up blast which i believe is a team death match mode looking at the november line up for games i better be on best behaviour  ;)

I think the trouble is. Rather than just being a service. Internet providing is just pure business!! It's more a case of how many peeps each company can sign up on whatever they claim is the fastest, biggest most expensive package they can sell.

So the market and internet consumer usage has grown exponentially in the last few years along with online games making it congested in a lot places through all the different isp's. Trouble is rather than each ISP investing in their networks and tech and working with the online sides of the games industry to understand how to optimise and improve service to the end user, their focus is still to increase subscriptions!

This is what I love about the Netduma and the direction/stance the company has taken in their industry. They are doing something totally different!

Sure there are loads of great 3rd party routers out there, they look great and some even work great! But....... And here's the But.......how many of them have sat down about the end user base..... Or the gaming community that buy them or about the service they provide? None I think, instead year after year they churn out new router hw with a tasty price tag.

Basically what I am saying is. Until the isp's sit down and think about the consumers and work out what their individual needs are and then sit down and communicate with the developers who have important online components in their titles, work out how to get the most consistent performance across the board, we are always going to have all these inconsistencies!

Sure there are so many variables involved but its still achievable, we all want the same best experience and are willing to pay what we can afford to get it. The focus of the people that can make it happen just needs to change.

Sorry for the long post guys..... I'm not the most intelligent guy....and maybe I'm wrong, its just the way I see it and my opinion from a consumer perspective.......I just think maybe some of the isp's could do with some of the netduma devs mentality ☺
