Macca65 Posted October 8, 2015 Share Posted October 8, 2015 Hi Guys, what are you first impressions of Star Wars Battlefront (beta) obviously I personally thinks it's very very good, maps are big, although I have initially found it difficult to get any kills on the first 5 games, but gradually getting used to it But so far it's a big thumbs up from me. On the Netduma front, I turned of the geo filter, the first server was in Holland, and then it switched to a server in California although the Distance was coming up as 740 Kms Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

On the flip side my games on the smaller capture the pod map I did blinding (had to pinch myself) got lots of kills and a few captures too. The bigger map mode however was a different story. Where it seemed the entire opposition was annihilating us. Only one person on our team had more kills than deaths I broke even. The other teams player had at least double kills and more at the top. As for the game, beautiful graphics, maps seem fine. I love the sounds though mostly for sure, very authentic. Deffo players in parties and team players are gonna own mostly in this game like BF4 I think, especially in the bigger maps, either way controls are very simple and it seems an easy pick up and play title. procreate Posted October 8, 2015 Share Posted October 8, 2015 super disappointed. its REALLY BAD on PC but looks beautiful, plays much better on console but looks like shit.... i mean really looks shitty like PS3 era graphics. Lag is really bad in the game, worse then any i have ever played. i cant get a kill no matter how much lasers i fire into someone, 3rd person being in it is a dealbreaker as it give a cheap advantage to those running it. think i am going to pass on this game completely. sad year for 2015. be first year i dont buy any games. to be honest, its not as good as the original... and DICE was not the right developer for this title. Nah, I am hip firing to medium range, literally nearly all shots on target and my blaster overheats then they kill me. First couple of games were great double figure kills etc capturing pods, now I am lucky to get 5 kills. It doesn't feel like lag in the traditional sense but its all it can be. It is a lovely game but the lag is getting real boring real fast. On two occasions in two different games I have had around a twenty second time frame where I was dropping people like flies but 40 seconds over a couple of hours makes AW look awesome. Urge Posted October 8, 2015 Share Posted October 8, 2015 I haven't played the objective smaller map yet so can't comment on that, but have been having a ton of fun in the big 40 man map. Graphics are very nice and have been seeing absolutely no lag and i have the geo filter turned completely off. Not using the R1 at all and still seeing no lag in this. I'll be buying it, noticing a lot of jagged edges on things though so I'm not too happy about that. As far as gameplay goes I was hoping to feel more laser power with the XB1 controllers, doesn't feel strong as it is, still enjoying it though. I hated Destiny because of constant radar and super abilities to where you can't really find your own way across the map solo. It just made people play super defensive pre-aiming and readying their supers. Yawn. Battlefield Hardline was okay but I died a lot from snipers. This game is like right smack-dab in the middle of Destiny, CoD, and Battlefield to me and I like it quite a bit as a rusher. I've only played Hoth once and I disliked the Jedi killing me. I felt helpless against it like I did supers. I'd much rather die from gunfire. How do you kill them? Playing on the other smaller multiplayer map is a lot of fun, though. More gun-on-gun action. The one shot is the sniper in the card slot, its ace and if you dont get a one shot the health is so low that it takes one from your blaster to finish the job. It's regular assault rifles, dint remember names... You can see your killers setup on right upon death. Shame no killcams... Would be rage inducing if there were. Spawns are also horrible at times. I kept getting connected to a server in California and was getting blasted almost immediatley, but I had to go through at least on overheat to kill anyone. I can see the Jedi getting annoying as they are very difficult kill, even if you can. I saw a few people blasting one and all it did was kneel down as if meditating and when people blasted him nothing happened Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The weapons used in the Star Wars films, and rendered on the game are actually military weapons. They were borrowed/leased from the Army at the time and the special effects teams put casings over them or modified them for the films. The smaller blaster was a SMG (Sub machine gun) they kept the stock folded up and put a sight on the top, on the left you will see a small oblong slot halfway on the weapon, that is where the magazine slotted in. On the longer weapons they used the old Lewis gun in one film and the German M34 MG stripped down with bits added on So now you know :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I thought it was very average, there was nothing really wrong with it but nothing special about it either. To me it seemed like a hardline witha new skin. In terms of the Geo-filter, the smaller pod map I had to disable the Geo-filter to connect to the server in the US, though pinged between 30-40. major masingil Posted October 9, 2015 Share Posted October 9, 2015 I had a great time playing last night. The movement is kinda slow. The servers I was connected to appeared on the geo map to be in either in Oklahoma or California, but I was only getting 20-25ms ping...so I'm not sure they were actually there, it's 3000 miles to Cali from where I live. I liked the various perks. I think the game would be great if you linked up with 3 -4 friends so you could keep each other covered. Even with the geofilter off in the smaller multiplayer map I kept getting disconnected from the server just as the game would start.
