Hy all i just bought and  recived my netduma 

i am learing all the settings . I followed the optimal settings post and others

But i would love to hear your guys settings you use that work for you 

Because at the moment it aint helping meto well at the moment but i can see its gonna do.

I just need to tweak it a bit i think.

Could you post your settings you use .Ie

Hor far you set geo filter  distance

Pa how mutch you set your ping number  mine is from 0 to 50 ms

Do you use strict mode

how cc  do you use  from 0% to 100%

Btw i set my home right next to my location

Cheers lukasz lol you was actually one of the persons i wanted to replay as ive been reading your older post and you was expieriencing what i was

I cant post my  setting yet  for a few reasons 

Dlm have just lowered my line  so my pings have just risen from 10 ms to 20 ms it will be ok in a few days hopefuly

The reason the ping has increased  is since i bought this router ive been constantly changeing difrent routers  with the net duma and the dlm has kicked in thinking somthings up with my line

  If its ok ile post those settings soon as my pings are good again hopefully it should be tomorow

Sure buddy no worries those info is a good start point. Many times its just a matter of some settings etc. That info is very useful to determinate whether you are using all of the features to the best.

There are instructions for taking screen shots here If that doesn't work then you can download something like Gyazo and use that which is much easier.

I left out the first part as it shows mt ipadress

but the stats were

traceroute to 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets

1 my ip adress 12.456 ms 12.667 ms 12.456 ms

I cant show you pics of me using in game as my pc  and ps4 are around 30 foot away from router

and  my pc cant go wireless

plus I only have one ethernet cable to use between both devices

so when I gaming I cant take screen shots

btw I always use wired Ethernet cat 6 cable

and my speeds I pay for are 80/ 20 mb

but I get around 70 /17mb  on my pc brilliant speeds

 

normaly in game I ping around 15 ms to host  and some  games around 30 ms

Hello there buddy.

 

The first thing i would try to change is try using strict mode. This makes sure you are getting the best possible expiriencec. Also try it with ping assist set to 0.

 

Now the rest of the settings looks fine to me.

 

Now question about you phisical set up. I belive you are on Bt right? Have you kept the bt router as a main one and put duma in DZM?

Ive also tried ping assist at 0  and ive tried difrent number still with no luck yet

I am with talktalk not bt btw

i have the talktalk super router hg 635 

Also a bt openreach modem

Im trying to work out how to put the netduma into dmz through any of these devices

Im just reading all the posts in the forum  for usefull advice

Ok so what is you physical setup right now you just have wall-modem-talktalk- and then you have r1 connected to it just as a regular device is that right?

At the moment im using bt open reach modem with netduma

Or i can use my talktalk super router hg 635 in modem mode with netduma

The problem is if i use the hg635 super roter  in modem mode  i dont know how to put it into dmz 

I cant acsess the  routers page in modem mode

If you have a BT Openreach modem you could connect the Netduma directly into that Also try putting congestion control on 70/70 and moving your home location into the middle of the UK so that you include Scotland in your GeoFilter too. Your pings to the host seem pretty good btw.

There is no call to dmz as the modem is the modem part obviously and the the Netduma is the router part no other router in the chain.

well to be honest with you if you connect you duma directly to the modem the you dont need to put it in DMZ as your main Router becomes R1 with its firewall. There fore you dont need to pass any other router etc.

 

Yes thats also correct as soon as i put my HH in to mode mode i have no options to choose etc. i cant put it in to dmz. So far as i am aware people only put r1 in to DMZ when the keep fully operations router in the front of R1. 

 

Now Like Crossy sad eve though i have 100 mb connection and while i game no one else is using internet at night i still keep sliders in congestion on 70 both.

 

Now about home location here is my little drawing for you

 

 

 

So this is how i keep my geo range now those yellow circles are the dedis in my are. numbers above them shows how well they can play.

 

As you can see the closest on to me its the less favorite. Lest say if i start gaming and it plays horrible i first reduce my geo and move it to include only dedi nr1 and so on you can take advantage of geo mAP.

One thing i forgot to add is sometimes this method when you iclude on dedi only will mean that you will have to wait longer for a game or sometimes i have to give it up as the game is constantly tring to put me on that uk dedi which i try to aviod.

You know if it's a dedicated server because if you click on the circle then it doesn't say 'Update' in the host descriptor box. It only shows as yellow for people with admin mode.

 

Hopefully you continue to have good games!
